How much does the 2016 Hyundai Santa Fe cost?

Prices have softened 11.81% compared to this time last year, making it a favorable time to shop this model year.

There are 379 listings available, which gives you a modest amount of inventory to compare.

Is the 2016 Hyundai Santa Fe a good car?

Yes — the 5/5 user rating points to strong owner satisfaction. The 2016 Santa Fe is described as a polished, practical family SUV with a clearer sense of purpose, a higher-quality appearance, and useful cabin features like supportive seats, deep map pockets, heated seat controls on the doors, and wired Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. It also stands out for flexibility, with two-row and three-row versions and rear seat legroom called out as a major strength, making it a sensible choice if you want comfort and utility over driving excitement. With 29.0% of listings marked as good or great deals, there is still some room to shop selectively.

Is the 2016 Hyundai Santa Fe reliable?

Owners rate it 5/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

The 2016 Santa Fe is presented as generally well equipped and safe, with a broad feature set and a family-friendly layout that supports everyday use. Its comfort-focused character and practical cabin design suggest it should fit well into routine ownership if you prioritize usability.

For used buyers, the main long-term risk is making sure the specific vehicle has been maintained well, since condition and history will matter more than the model’s overall reputation.

What should I look for when buying a used 2016 Hyundai Santa Fe?

At 56.2% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.

You should run a vehicle history report before you commit, then prioritize a pre-purchase inspection so you can confirm the condition matches the listing. Focus on bodywork, interior wear, and signs of uneven maintenance, since those details matter most when you are comparing used examples.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2016 Hyundai Santa Fe?

This is a moderate market, so you can shop selectively without expecting every listing to be a bargain.

• Deal availability: 29.0% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 379 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 11.81% compared with last year.
• Clean inventory: 56.2% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $9,664, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2016 Hyundai Santa Fe's resale value?

The current average of $9,925 sits slightly below last year's $11,255.

That price movement suggests the market has cooled, which can help you buy more favorably now but may also limit upside if you plan to resell soon. If you buy at the right price and keep the vehicle in strong condition, you can reduce the impact of that softer market when it is time to sell. A well-kept example should still appeal to shoppers looking for a practical, comfortable family SUV.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 5/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Should I buy a 2016 Hyundai Santa Fe or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2016 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2016 if:

• 29.0% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• At 56.2% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 11.81% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 5/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.

Consider the 2015 if:

• At $9,904, the 2015 costs less than the current year's $9,925 average.
• It offers a more engaging driving character.

The bottom line: If you want the better-balanced shopping opportunity, the 2016 is the stronger primary target because it combines softer pricing, solid deal availability, and strong owner satisfaction. If your top priority is shaving a little more off the purchase price, the 2015 is the secondary path to consider, especially if you find one in excellent condition.
