How much does the 2016 Honda Accord cost?

Prices have softened 1.47% compared to this time last year, making it a favorable time to shop this model year.

There are 2,370 listings available, which gives you a solid pool of cars to compare.

Is the 2016 Honda Accord a good car?

Generally — the 2016 Honda Accord earns a 4.38/5 user rating and a 6.83/10 expert rating. The standout strength is Performance at 9/10.

Drivers consistently praise its comfort, reliability, and impressive gas mileage, and many also value the safety features and interior quality. That lines up well with the Accord’s role as a practical family sedan that aims to balance everyday usability with a strong ownership experience. Even so, the market still reflects some caution, with 30.6% of listings marked as good or great deals.

Is the 2016 Honda Accord reliable?

Owners rate it 4.38/5, a solid signal of long-term satisfaction.

User feedback points to reliability, dependable transportation, and trouble-free ownership as recurring strengths, along with praise for its comfort and fuel economy. The expert drive notes also frame it as a good hedge against unanticipated expenses, with favorable reliability ratings helping support its appeal as an affordable family car. Honda’s low insurance costs and strong fuel-economy estimates add to that ownership case.

For used buyers, the main long-term risk is that some examples may have accumulated wear or quality issues, so condition and maintenance history matter a lot.

What should I look for when buying a used 2016 Honda Accord?

At 43.6% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.

You should start with a vehicle history report and then prioritize a pre-purchase inspection, especially if the car has had prior body damage or repair work. Focus on overall condition, signs of uneven wear, and whether the car’s equipment works as expected. Because this model year has a meaningful share of incident history in the market, the cleanest examples are the ones most worth chasing.

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The LX is the value-oriented starting point, while the EX, EX-L, and Touring add more upscale equipment and features. The base car skips the touchscreen infotainment setup, so you should pay close attention to feature gaps if you want a more modern cabin.
• Powertrain: Most versions use a 2.4-liter 4-cylinder engine, with the Sport getting a slightly stronger tune. If you want the V6, you need the EX-L with the option or the Touring, and the V6 delivers much stronger passing power and highway confidence.
• Safety package: Honda Sensing includes forward collision warning with automatic emergency braking, lane-departure warning with lane-keeping assist, road-departure prevention, and adaptive cruise control. It is standard on every version, but you cannot pair it with the manual transmission.
• Infotainment: The touchscreen system uses a 7-inch display and adds Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, along with Siri Eyes Free support. You need to move up to the EX, EX-L, or Touring to get it.
• Fuel efficiency: The 4-cylinder is described as refined and efficient, and the V6 is thirstier in city and traffic-heavy driving but can return better than 34 mpg on the open road.

Which 2016 Honda Accord trim should I buy?

The 2016 Honda Accord is offered in 5 trim levels: LX, Sport, EX, EX-L, Touring.

Here's the short version:

• LX: This is the entry point if you want the lowest-cost Accord, but you give up the touchscreen infotainment system found higher up the range. It makes sense if you want the basics and plan to keep the budget tight.
• Sport: This trim adds a slightly stronger 4-cylinder tune and larger front brakes, making it the best-value pick for shoppers who want a more engaging drive without jumping to the V6.
• EX: This is the first trim to unlock the touchscreen infotainment system, plus Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, so it is the smart step up if tech matters to you.
• EX-L: This is the trim to target if you want a more upscale feel and the option to add the V6. It also gets LaneWatch, though that system only covers the right-side blind spot.
• Touring: This is the fully loaded choice, with the V6 standard and Honda Sensing included. It is the right pick if you want the most equipment and the strongest powertrain in one package.

Honda Sensing is standard across the lineup, but manual-transmission cars cannot be paired with it.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2016 Honda Accord?

This is a moderate market, so you can shop selectively without expecting a deep bargain on every listing.

• Deal availability: 30.6% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 2,370 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 1.47% compared with last year.
• Clean inventory: 43.6% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $14,138, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2016 Honda Accord's resale value?

The current average of $14,414 sits slightly below last year's $14,630.

That modest decline suggests the market has eased a bit, which can help you buy more confidently now. For a future seller, the current pricing trend implies that resale value is holding reasonably well rather than dropping sharply. The Accord’s broad appeal and steady demand should help support used-market interest, especially for cleaner examples with strong equipment and maintenance records.

Vehicles with solid owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.38/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Is the 2016 Honda Accord safe?

The 2016 Honda Accord earns top marks in every NHTSA and IIHS crash assessment except for four-star frontal-impact protection from NHTSA.

It earns a 5/10 safety score from our experts.

Honda Sensing is the standard driver-assistance suite, and it includes forward collision warning with automatic emergency braking, lane-departure warning with lane-keeping assist, road-departure prevention, and adaptive cruise control. It is available on every version of the Accord, but you cannot combine it with the manual transmission. The car also includes a standard reversing camera with three viewpoints, including a 180-degree rear view.

One caveat is that rear cross-traffic alert and a traditional blind-spot warning system are not part of the package. LaneWatch is offered on the EX, EX-L, and Touring, but it only monitors the right-side blind spot.

Should I buy a 2016 Honda Accord or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2016 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2016 if:

• 30.6% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• At 43.6% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 1.47% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.38/5 — a solid satisfaction signal.
• Honda’s updates make the Accord better in several ways, while preserving its strong family-sedan appeal.

Consider the 2015 if:

• At $13,177, the 2015 costs less than the current year's $14,414 average.
• It is described as exceptionally well-engineered and likely to provide dependable service for many years.

The bottom line: If you want the better-equipped and more refined version of this generation, the 2016 is the stronger pick. If your priority is saving money and you can live with an older model year, the 2015 is the value play worth considering.
