How much does the 2016 Honda Accord cost?

Prices have softened 2.46% compared to this time last year, making it a favorable time to shop this model year.

There are 2,350 listings available, which gives you a solid pool of options to compare.

Is the 2016 Honda Accord a good car?

Generally — the 2016 Honda Accord earns a 4.38/5 user rating and a 6.83/10 expert rating. The standout strength is Performance at 9/10.

Drivers consistently praise its comfort, reliability, and impressive gas mileage, and many also value the safety features and interior quality. That lines up well with the Accord’s role as a comfortable, reliable sedan with good value, especially if you want a practical family car that still feels polished. Even so, the market shows only 30.6% of listings as good or great deals, so the best examples still deserve careful comparison.

Is the 2016 Honda Accord reliable?

Owners rate it 4.38/5, a solid signal of long-term satisfaction.

Drivers describe it as reliable, and the broader feedback also points to dependable, trouble-free ownership for many buyers. The expert evaluation reinforces that theme by calling it a good hedge against unanticipated expenses and noting favorable reliability ratings. It also highlights low insurance costs, which can help keep ownership manageable over time.

For used buyers, the main long-term risk is that small quality issues can add up, so condition and maintenance history matter more than mileage alone.

What should I look for when buying a used 2016 Honda Accord?

At 44.4% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.

You should start with a vehicle history report and then prioritize a pre-purchase inspection, especially if the car has had prior bodywork or multiple owners. Focus on wear, repair quality, and whether the car’s equipment works as expected, since small issues can become recurring annoyances. If you’re comparing several examples, put the cleanest, best-documented car at the top of your list even if it costs a bit more.

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The LX is the least expensive entry point, but it lacks the touchscreen infotainment system found on the EX, EX-L, and Touring. The Touring adds the most equipment, including the full suite of bells and whistles, while the EX, EX-L, and Touring also get LaneWatch.
• Powertrain: Most models use a 2.4-liter 4-cylinder engine, with the Sport tuned to 189 hp. If you want the 3.5-liter V6, you need the EX-L with the V6 option or the Touring, and the V6 delivers much stronger passing power.
• Safety package: Honda Sensing includes forward collision warning with automatic emergency braking, lane-departure warning with lane-keeping assist, road-departure prevention, and adaptive cruise control. It is standard on the Touring and available on every version, but you cannot pair it with the manual transmission.
• Infotainment: The touchscreen system uses a 7-inch display and includes wireless-style smartphone integration through Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, plus Siri Eyes Free support. The LX and Sport miss out on this setup.
• Fuel efficiency: The 4-cylinder is described as refined and efficient, and the V6 averaged 24.6 mpg on the test loop, with better than 34 mpg seen on the open road.

Which 2016 Honda Accord trim should I buy?

The 2016 Honda Accord is offered in 5 trim levels: LX, Sport, EX, EX-L, Touring.

Here's the short version:

• LX: This is the value entry point if you want the Accord’s core strengths at the lowest price, but you give up the touchscreen infotainment system and some of the richer equipment found higher up.
• Sport: Choose this if you want a little more power from the 4-cylinder and a more athletic feel, but it still skips the touchscreen system.
• EX: This is the best-value trim for many shoppers because it adds the touchscreen infotainment system, Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, and LaneWatch without jumping all the way to the top.
• EX-L: Pick this if you want a more upscale feel and the option to add the V6, making it the right middle ground for buyers who want more comfort or stronger performance.
• Touring: This is the fully loaded choice, with the V6 standard, Honda Sensing standard, and the most complete equipment list.

Honda Sensing is standard on the Touring and available on every version, but you cannot combine it with the manual transmission.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2016 Honda Accord?

This is a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you have room to shop carefully without expecting deep discounts everywhere.

• Deal availability: 30.6% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 2,350 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 2.46% compared with last year.
• Clean inventory: 44.4% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $14,133, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2016 Honda Accord's resale value?

The current average of $14,248 sits slightly below last year's $14,607.

That softer pricing suggests the market has already adjusted downward, which can help you buy at a more favorable point if you plan to keep the car for a while. For a future seller, it also means resale value may depend heavily on condition, mileage, and documentation rather than model-year momentum alone. Clean, well-kept examples should still draw interest because the Accord’s reputation and broad appeal remain strong.

Vehicles with solid owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.38/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Is the 2016 Honda Accord safe?

The 2016 Honda Accord earns top marks in every NHTSA and IIHS assessment except for four-star ratings for frontal-impact protection from the federal government.

It earns a 5/10 safety score from our experts.

Honda Sensing is the named driver-assistance suite, and it includes forward collision warning with automatic emergency braking, lane-departure warning with lane-keeping assist, road-departure prevention, and adaptive cruise control. It is standard on the Touring and available on every version, but you cannot combine it with the manual transmission. The Accord also comes with a standard reversing camera, though rear cross-traffic alert and a traditional blind-spot warning system are not part of the package.

Should I buy a 2016 Honda Accord or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2016 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2016 if:

• 30.6% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• At 44.4% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 2.46% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.38/5 — a solid satisfaction signal.
• Honda made a number of improvements that helped the Accord become better in several ways.

Consider the 2015 if:

• At $13,243, the 2015 costs less than the current year's $14,248 average.
• It is a well-engineered midsize sedan with a strong reputation for long-term dependability.

The bottom line: If you want the stronger all-around package, the 2016 is the better target because it adds meaningful improvements and still prices reasonably. If your priority is spending less up front, the 2015 is the smarter value play, especially if you find a clean example with a strong service history.
