Used 2016 GMC Sierra 2500HD for Sale nearTulsa, OK

How much does the 2016 GMC Sierra 2500HD cost?

Prices have softened 7.75% compared to this time last year, making it a favorable time to shop this model year.

There are 703 listings available, which gives you a solid pool of trucks to compare on price, mileage, and condition.

Is the 2016 GMC Sierra 2500HD a good car?

Yes — the 2016 GMC Sierra 2500HD earns a 5/5 user rating, which points to very strong owner satisfaction.

Owners consistently praise its power, reliability, and luxurious features, and they also highlight the smooth ride and strong performance when towing or hauling. The overview also fits that use case well: you’re looking at a heavy-duty pickup that aims to balance serious capability with a more upscale feel than many rivals. With 26.5% of listings marked as good or great deals, you still have room to shop selectively.

Is the 2016 GMC Sierra 2500HD reliable?

Owners rate it 5/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

The owner summary specifically calls out reliability, and it also describes the truck as dependable and well liked for long-term use. That lines up with the broader feedback that many owners feel confident relying on it for towing, hauling, and everyday work.

For used buyers, the main long-term ownership risk is less about owner sentiment and more about making sure the specific truck you choose has been maintained well and inspected carefully.

What should I look for when buying a used 2016 GMC Sierra 2500HD?

At 64.3% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.

You should start with a vehicle history report so you can confirm accident records, title status, and service history before you go any further. A pre-purchase inspection should be a priority, especially because this generation is known for electrical issues, hard-shifting transmissions, and infotainment glitches. You should also pay close attention to body condition, panel fit, paint quality, and rust, since those are the kinds of issues that can matter a lot on a used heavy-duty truck.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2016 GMC Sierra 2500HD?

This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can shop patiently but should move quickly on the best examples.

• Deal availability: 26.5% of listings are priced as good or great deals.

If you find a listing below $31,827, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2016 GMC Sierra 2500HD's resale value?

The current average of $31,827 sits slightly below last year's $34,502.

That price movement suggests the market has cooled a bit, which can help you as a buyer now but may limit upside if you plan to resell soon. If you buy at the right price and keep the truck in strong condition, you’ll be better positioned to preserve value later. Trucks with broad appeal, especially ones that are well maintained and cleanly documented, tend to hold buyer interest more effectively over time.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 5/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Should I buy a 2016 GMC Sierra 2500HD or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2016 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2016 if:

• 26.5% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• At 64.3% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 7.75% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 5/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.

The bottom line: The 2016 is a strong choice if you want a heavy-duty truck with a premium feel, strong owner approval, and a market that currently gives you some negotiating room. If you’re especially price-sensitive, you may want to compare nearby years and focus on whichever one gives you the best combination of condition, history, and asking price.
