Used 2016 GMC Acadia for Sale nearLufkin, TX

How much does the 2016 GMC Acadia cost?

Prices have softened 7.97% compared to this time last year, making it a favorable time to shop this model year.

There are 1,659 listings available, which suggests you have a solid amount of inventory to compare.

Is the 2016 GMC Acadia a good car?

Generally — 4.3/5 is a strong user rating for a used three-row crossover, and the Acadia’s overview points to a comfort-first, family-oriented mission. It was designed to replace several three-row vehicles in GM’s lineup, and its unibody construction and front-wheel-drive layout helped make it more practical and approachable than truck-like alternatives. For you, that means it makes the most sense if you want a roomy, comfort-focused SUV rather than something tuned for performance. 30.2% of listings are priced as good or great deals, which gives you some room to shop selectively.

Is the 2016 GMC Acadia reliable?

Owners rate it 4.3/5, a solid signal of long-term satisfaction.

The overview also suggests this is one of the more refined examples of the first generation, which matters because the earliest model years were the most problematic. For used buyers, that usually means your biggest long-term risk is not the basic concept of the vehicle, but the condition and maintenance history of the specific example you choose.

What should I look for when buying a used 2016 GMC Acadia?

At 58.6% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.

You should start with a vehicle history report and confirm whether any damage was structural or cosmetic. Then prioritize a pre-purchase inspection, especially for signs of uneven wear, repair quality, and deferred maintenance. Because this is a family-oriented crossover, condition matters most in the areas you’ll use every day: seating, cargo space, and overall mechanical smoothness.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2016 GMC Acadia?

This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can shop carefully without expecting every listing to be a bargain.

• Deal availability: 30.2% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 1,659 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 7.97% compared with last year.
• Clean inventory: 58.6% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $10,359, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2016 GMC Acadia's resale value?

The current average of $10,363 sits slightly below last year's $11,260.

That softer pricing suggests the model has already absorbed some of its depreciation, which can help future sellers if they buy at the right price. If you purchase near the lower end of the range and keep the vehicle in strong condition, you may have a better chance of limiting your loss later. Demand should remain steadier for well-kept examples because shoppers still value the Acadia’s roomy, comfort-focused setup.

Vehicles with solid owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.3/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Should I buy a 2016 GMC Acadia or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2016 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2016 if:

• 30.2% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• At 58.6% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 7.97% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.3/5 — a solid satisfaction signal.

Consider the 2017 if:

• At $12,714, the 2017 costs more than the current year's $10,363 average.
• It was redesigned to be smaller, lighter, and more modern.

The bottom line: You should lean toward the 2016 if you want the lower price and a more traditional three-row layout. If you can spend more and want the redesigned 2017’s lighter, newer package, that’s the better secondary path for buyers who value the update over savings.
