Should I buy a 2016 Ford Fusion or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2016 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2016 if:

• 27.3% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• At 56.6% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 5.20% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.1/5 — a solid satisfaction signal.

Consider the 2015 if:

• At $8,232, the 2015 costs less than the current year's $8,789 average.
• It stands out for its distinctive styling and strong overall appeal.

The bottom line: If you want the better-balanced shopping opportunity, the 2016 is the stronger primary pick because it combines a lower current price trend with solid owner satisfaction and decent deal availability.
