Is the 2016 Ford Expedition a good car?

Yes — the 4.5/5 user rating points to strong owner satisfaction. Owners consistently praise the spacious cabin, smooth ride, and quiet operation, and they also note favorable fuel efficiency for a large SUV. That makes it a strong fit if you want a family-hauling SUV with plenty of passenger space and a comfort-first driving experience. With 30.4% of listings marked as good or great deals, you have some room to shop selectively.

Is the 2016 Ford Expedition reliable?

Owners rate it 4.5/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

Owner feedback highlights the Expedition’s smooth ride, spacious interior, and quiet operation, which are all traits that usually support confidence in daily use. At the same time, some owners have reported reliability issues and dissatisfaction with dealer service, so you should pay close attention to maintenance records and overall condition.

For used buyers, that means long-term ownership risk is manageable if you choose carefully, but a thorough inspection matters.

What should I look for when buying a used 2016 Ford Expedition?

At 63.4% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.

You should start with a vehicle history report and confirm whether any prior damage was repaired properly. Then prioritize a pre-purchase inspection, especially for signs of bodywork, uneven panel gaps, or wear that could point to harder use. Focus on overall condition and maintenance documentation, since those details matter more when a sizable portion of the market has accident history.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2016 Ford Expedition?

This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can shop patiently but still move quickly on the right listing.

• Deal availability: 30.4% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 973 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 7.62% compared with last year.
• Clean inventory: 63.4% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $13,057, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2016 Ford Expedition's resale value?

The current average of $13,243 sits slightly below last year's $14,336.

That softer pricing suggests the market has already adjusted downward, which can help you buy at a more favorable entry point. For a future seller, it also means resale value may depend heavily on condition, mileage, and how well the vehicle has been maintained. If you keep the SUV clean, documented, and accident-free, you give yourself a better chance of holding demand when it’s time to sell.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.5/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Should I buy a 2016 Ford Expedition or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2016 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2016 if:

• 30.4% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• At 63.4% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 7.62% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.5/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.

Consider the 2015 if:

• At $11,570, the 2015 costs less than the current year's $13,243 average.
• It offers a more established, familiar formula with a meaningful fuel-efficiency update.

The bottom line: If you want the stronger current-market balance of price, owner satisfaction, and available inventory, the 2016 is the better starting point. If your priority is spending less upfront, the 2015 is the more budget-friendly alternative and may be worth a close look.
