A full redesign catches the Malibu up to the competition with some fresh engines, strong design, and a spacious interior.

The Malibu has long sat on the bench, relegated to rental fleets and used-car lots as it suffered from an indistinct design, lackluster performance, and a tight interior. Chevrolet was sick of its midsize Malibu getting disrespected at every stop, so the automaker stretched it, put it on a diet, and gave it a makeover to try and woo new customers to the fold. On top of that, it offers two new engines this year for greater efficiency, and some pretty hefty tech and safety upgrades that bring the Malibu solidly into the 21st century.

Malibu LT w2LT is worthwhile purchase since vehicle comes with Driver Confidence Package, 2.0L T engine which performs very well for pickup and can easily merge lanes on a highway. Has a smooth ride, easy to drive. If you can find it with leather seats even better. Vehicle has Apple Car Play/Android Auto.

I like the new dram that Chevy did with the 2016 Chevy Malibu’s and going forward. I test drove one. The only negative is it doesn’t have good acceleration

This car is made fairly cheap, you get what you pay for. Tin Can for body. A grocery cart dented door so bad had to replace the door. Electrical issues from the beginning. Love the look but not a fan of the over all value.
