How much does the 2016 Chevrolet Corvette cost?

Prices have softened 3.30% compared to this time last year, making it a favorable time to shop this model year.

There are 1,093 listings available, which gives you a meaningful pool to compare prices and equipment.

Is the 2016 Chevrolet Corvette a good car?

Yes — the 2016 Chevrolet Corvette earns a 4.94/5 user rating and an 8.5/10 expert rating. The standout strength is Performance at 10/10.

Owners consistently praise its exceptional performance, strong value for money, sleek design, and modern interior. For you, that means this is a sports car that delivers on both image and speed, especially if you want something that feels dramatic before it even moves. The overview also points to a car built for buyers who want a statement piece with serious capability, though it’s less about broad feature variety than pure driving appeal.

32.9% of listings are priced as good or great deals, so there’s still room to shop selectively.

Is the 2016 Chevrolet Corvette reliable?

Owners rate it 4.94/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

The owner feedback also points to a car that feels exceptional and worth the money, with repeated praise for its performance and design. The expert material reinforces that dependability comes from a powertrain and chassis combination that can handle serious use, with the car described as confidently overpowered and well matched to its grip and transmission tuning. The cost-effectiveness notes also mention that the Corvette’s performance and design deliver a lot for the money, even if ownership costs can rise once you start adding options.

For used buyers, the main long-term risk is less about basic satisfaction and more about how hard the car may have been driven and how carefully it was maintained.

What should I look for when buying a used 2016 Chevrolet Corvette?

At 73.2% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.

You should start with a vehicle-history report and then prioritize a pre-purchase inspection, especially if the car has been modified or driven hard. Focus on condition details that matter on a performance car: brakes, tires, suspension behavior, and signs of heavy use. It’s also smart to check for odors and interior wear, since owner feedback mentions a strong cigarette smoke smell in some used examples.

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The coupe and convertible are both offered in 1LT, 2LT, and 3LT packages. The 1LT keeps the car focused on the core driving experience, while the 2LT adds heated and ventilated seats, curb-view cameras, Bose audio, and a heads-up display. The 3LT adds leather surfaces everywhere, Napa leather seating, navigation, and the Performance Data Recorder, so it’s the best-value choice if you want the most complete cabin without jumping into a more specialized setup.
• Powertrain: The car uses a 6.2-liter pushrod V8 with 455 horsepower and 460 lb-ft of torque. It can run to 60 mph in under 4 seconds, and the 7-speed manual or 8-speed automatic both suit the car’s strong low-end power. The engine’s cylinder deactivation adds a bit of efficiency between bursts of performance.
• Safety package: The car comes standard with 4 airbags, including side-impact airbags and a protective cell, plus four-wheel antilock brakes and electronic stability control. Higher trims add front- and rear-facing cameras to help with parking and backing out.
• Infotainment: Dual 8-inch screens anchor the cabin, and Chevrolet MyLink includes phone, audio, and navigation when equipped. Apple CarPlay is included, and Android Auto was slated to follow later. OnStar is also built in, with basic services free for 5 years for new buyers.
• Fuel efficiency: The engine uses cylinder deactivation and a tall 7th gear for highway cruising, but the car still expects premium fuel and frequent fill-ups from its 18-gallon tank.

Which 2016 Chevrolet Corvette trim should I buy?

The 2016 Chevrolet Corvette is offered in 3 trim levels: 1LT, 2LT, 3LT.

Here's the short version:

• 1LT: This is the most direct route into the Corvette experience, and it keeps the focus on the car’s core performance and styling. If you care most about the driving feel and want to keep the purchase as lean as possible, this is the starting point.
• 2LT: This trim adds heated and ventilated seats, curb-view cameras, Bose audio, and a heads-up display. It’s the best-value trim for many shoppers because it adds meaningful everyday comfort and convenience without changing the Corvette’s character.
• 3LT: This is the most luxurious version, with leather surfaces everywhere, Napa leather seating, navigation, and the Performance Data Recorder. Choose it if you want the most complete cabin and the most premium-feeling Corvette.

Higher trims also bring front- and rear-facing cameras to help with parking and backing out.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2016 Chevrolet Corvette?

This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can shop carefully and still find opportunities.

• Deal availability: 32.9% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 1,093 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 3.30% compared with last year.
• Clean inventory: 73.2% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $54,108, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2016 Chevrolet Corvette's resale value?

The current average of $55,021 sits slightly below last year's $56,899.

That price movement suggests the market has eased a bit, which can help you as a buyer today but may temper short-term upside if you plan to resell soon. Even so, the Corvette’s strong enthusiast appeal and performance reputation help support demand. If you buy well and keep the car in strong condition, it should remain attractive to future shoppers who want a distinctive American sports car.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.94/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Is the 2016 Chevrolet Corvette safe?

The Chevrolet Corvette has not been rated by the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration nor the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety.

It earns a 7/10 safety score from our experts.

The Corvette comes standard with 4 airbags, including side-impact airbags and a protective cell, even on the convertible. It also includes four-wheel antilock brakes and mandatory electronic stability control. Higher trims add front- and rear-facing cameras to help when parking and backing out. The main caveat is visibility, which is limited because of the car’s low stance and small windows.

Should I buy a 2016 Chevrolet Corvette or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2016 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2016 if:

• 32.9% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• At 73.2% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 3.30% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.94/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.
• The 2016 stands out for its updated interior and serious performance, especially when equipped with optional cooling, adaptive suspension, and bigger brakes.

The bottom line: The 2016 is a strong pick if you want the Corvette’s updated cabin, standout performance, and a market that has softened enough to create some negotiating room. If you’re price-sensitive, the current inventory and deal share make it worth shopping carefully for a well-kept example rather than rushing into the first one you see.
