How much does the 2016 Buick Cascada cost?

Prices have softened 7.61% compared to this time last year, making it a favorable time to shop this model year.

There are 130 listings available, which gives you a modest amount of inventory to compare before you buy.

Is the 2016 Buick Cascada a good car?

Yes — the 2016 Buick Cascada earns 5/5 from owners and 6.2/10 from our experts. The model scores 7/10 across Look and feel, Form and function, and Cost effectiveness.

Owners consistently praise its beautiful styling, enjoyable driving experience, and the fact that it is fun to drive with the top up or down. The overview also frames it as a relaxed, classic open-air cruiser, so you should expect style and easygoing character to matter more here than outright speed or modern tech. The market currently shows 30.8% good or great deals, which suggests there are still some attractive listings to consider.

Is the 2016 Buick Cascada reliable?

Owners rate it 5/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

The owner feedback points to a car that many people find dependable enough to enjoy over time, with praise centered on its enjoyable driving experience and the confidence that comes from a well-liked ownership experience. The expert notes also describe it as a niche cruiser that Buick built to fill a long-empty segment, which supports the idea that it was designed to be a straightforward, usable convertible rather than a complicated performance project.

The main long-term ownership risk for used buyers is that the Cascada’s appeal depends heavily on condition, because its age, limited practicality, and older technology can make neglected examples less satisfying to live with.

What should I look for when buying a used 2016 Buick Cascada?

At 63.8% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.

You should start with a vehicle-history report and then prioritize a careful inspection of bodywork, top operation, and interior condition. Because this car is valued for style and relaxed cruising, you’ll want to focus on signs of wear that could undermine the ownership experience, especially if the car has been used as a fair-weather convertible.

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The base Convertible trim already includes a power soft top, adaptive xenon headlights, remote engine start, heated 8-way leather power seats, dual-zone automatic climate control, heated mirrors, rear parking sensors, a rear-view camera, a heated tilt-and-telescoping steering wheel, 20-inch alloys, foglights, voice controls, smartphone integration, and a 7-inch touchscreen. The Premium trim adds forward-collision warning, lane-departure warning, front and rear parking sensors, auto wipers, and interior air deflectors, so the base car is the one to scrutinize if you want the most complete safety and convenience package.
• Powertrain: The Cascada uses a 1.6-liter turbocharged four-cylinder with 200 hp and 207 lb-ft of torque. The expert notes say the engine is overwhelmed by the car’s weight, so acceleration is a weak point even though low-speed torque is decent.
• Safety package: The standard safety equipment includes antilock brakes, traction and stability control, a full airbag suite with front-seat side and front knee airbags, and rollover-deploying safety hoops. The Premium trim adds forward-collision warning and lane-departure warning, while blind-spot monitoring and rear cross-traffic alert are not part of the described equipment.
• Infotainment: The Cascada uses a 7-inch touchscreen, and the content points to an older infotainment setup with smartphone integration. The system is described as dated and complicated, so usability should be a priority in your test drive.
• Fuel efficiency: The car is rated at 20 mpg city and 27 mpg highway, with a combined rating of 23 mpg. The expert also notes that real-world efficiency can fall short of those figures.

Which 2016 Buick Cascada trim should I buy?

The 2016 Buick Cascada is offered in 2 trim levels: Convertible and Premium.

Here's the short version:

• Convertible: This is the best-value choice if you want the Cascada’s core appeal without paying extra for the higher trim. You still get the power soft top, heated leather front seats, dual-zone climate control, rear parking sensors, a rear-view camera, smartphone integration, and the 7-inch touchscreen, so it covers the essentials well.
• Premium: Choose this if you want the added driver-assistance features and convenience upgrades. It adds forward-collision warning, lane-departure warning, front and rear parking sensors, auto wipers, and interior air deflectors, but the jump in price is steep relative to the added equipment.

The safety-package gap to keep in mind is that the Premium trim is the one that adds the forward-collision and lane-departure warning systems.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2016 Buick Cascada?

• Deal availability: 30.8% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 130 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 7.61% compared with last year.
• Clean inventory: 63.8% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $12,357, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2016 Buick Cascada's resale value?

The current average of $12,517 sits slightly below last year's $13,548.

That decline suggests the Cascada has already moved into a more buyer-friendly price zone, which can help you if you’re shopping now but may limit upside if you plan to resell soon. For a future seller, the key takeaway is that value retention will likely depend more on condition, mileage, and equipment than on broad market momentum. Well-kept examples should still attract interest from shoppers who want a distinctive convertible with a relaxed personality.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 5/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Is the 2016 Buick Cascada safe?

The 2016 Buick Cascada has not been crash tested by NHTSA, and Buick only anticipates a five-star result.

It earns a 6/10 safety score from our experts.

The Cascada comes with standard safety features like antilock brakes, traction and stability control, a full airbag suite including front-seat side and front knee airbags, and rollover-deploying safety hoops. The expert notes also call out the absence of blind-spot monitoring and rear cross-traffic alert, and the Premium trim is the one that adds forward-collision warning and lane-departure warning.

Should I buy a 2016 Buick Cascada or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2016 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2016 if:

• 30.8% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• At 63.8% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 7.61% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 5/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.
• It stands out as Buick’s first convertible in 25 years, with a classic cruising character and a niche that prioritizes style over speed.

The bottom line: If you want the Cascada’s distinctive open-air style and you’re focused on value, the 2016 is the one to target. If you’re especially price-sensitive, keep shopping for the cleanest, best-equipped example you can find and be ready to move when a well-priced listing appears.

How does the 2016 Buick Cascada compare to the 2016 Ford Mustang?

Our experts score the 2016 Buick Cascada 6.2/10 and the 2016 Ford Mustang 7.5/10. The Cascada is the more affordable used buy, while the Mustang brings stronger performance and a broader market presence. The Cascada’s appeal is its relaxed convertible cruising character and distinctive styling; the Mustang is the better pick if you care more about speed, handling, and overall value for the money.
