How much does the 2016 Audi Q3 cost?

Is the 2016 Audi Q3 a good car?

Generally — the 2016 Audi Q3 earns 4/5 from users and 6/10 from our experts. The expert score reflects a compact luxury SUV that emphasizes a refined cabin, nimble handling, and a quiet ride, while also being fairly stripped down for the money. It works best if you want a smaller Audi SUV with a premium feel and a compact footprint rather than a long list of extras. The expert test drive rating is 6/10, and 32.6% of listings are priced as good or great deals.

Is the 2016 Audi Q3 reliable?

Owners rate it 4/5, a solid signal of long-term satisfaction. The Q3’s core strengths are its rock-like quality, quiet cabin, and refined driving character, which all point to a well-built small luxury SUV. Its 2.0-liter turbocharged four-cylinder is described as responsive and refined, and the 6-speed automatic helps it launch smoothly. The main long-term ownership risk for used buyers is that the Q3’s sparse feature set and premium-brand upkeep can make it feel less rewarding if you expect more equipment for the money.

What should I look for when buying a used 2016 Audi Q3?

At 63% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.

You should start with a vehicle history report and then prioritize a pre-purchase inspection, especially if you’re comparing multiple listings at similar prices. Focus on overall condition, signs of prior bodywork, and whether the equipment level matches what you expect for the trim you’re considering. Because this model can feel sparse without the right options, it’s worth checking that the features you want are actually present.

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The Q3 is clean and citified, but it can feel basic inside, and the Technology package adds navigation, Audi Connect, onboard Wi-Fi, blind-spot monitoring, and a color display. The Prestige trim adds the Technology package, a power tailgate, larger 19-inch wheels, LED headlamps, and a 14-speaker Bose stereo.
• Powertrain: The 2.0-liter turbocharged 4-cylinder delivers 200 hp with minimal lag, and the 6-speed automatic helps it launch quickly and smoothly. The quattro all-wheel-drive system is a long-running and well-regarded setup, and the ride is quiet and isolated.
• Safety package: Blind-spot monitoring is included with the Technology package, and the Q3 does not offer a collision warning system. It also does not have knee airbags.
• Infotainment: Without the Technology package, the cabin is sparse and even the instrument panel display is monochrome. The package adds navigation with traffic overlays, Audi Connect, onboard Wi-Fi, local fuel prices, parking info, and weather.
• Fuel efficiency: The Q3 is EPA-rated at 20 mpg city and 28 highway.

Which 2016 Audi Q3 trim should I buy?

The 2016 Audi Q3 is offered in 3 trim levels: Premium, Premium Plus, Prestige.

Here's the short version:

• Premium: This is the entry point, and it gives you the core Q3 experience with the compact footprint, refined ride, and premium feel that define the model. It makes sense if you want the lowest-cost way into the Q3, but it is also the most stripped-down version.
• Premium Plus: This is the best-value trim because it adds the Technology package content that makes the Q3 feel much more complete, including navigation, Audi Connect, onboard Wi-Fi, blind-spot monitoring, and a color display. If you want the Q3 to feel properly equipped, this is the trim to target.
• Prestige: This trim builds on the Technology package and adds a power tailgate, larger 19-inch wheels, LED headlamps, and a 14-speaker Bose stereo. It suits you if you want the most upscale version of the Q3 and are willing to pay for the extra convenience and audio upgrades.

The safety-package trim note is simple: the Technology package is the key step up because it adds blind-spot monitoring, while the base setup leaves you with very little advanced driver assistance.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2016 Audi Q3?

This is a moderate market for selective buyers, with enough inventory to shop carefully and enough deal activity to make a good purchase possible.

• Deal availability: 32.6% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 473 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 8.72% compared with last year.
• Clean inventory: 63.0% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $11,213, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2016 Audi Q3's resale value?

The current average of $11,213 sits slightly below last year's $12,285.

That softer pricing suggests the Q3 has already absorbed a meaningful amount of depreciation, which can help future resale stability if you buy at the right price. For a future seller, the key advantage is that the model’s premium badge and compact luxury positioning still give it appeal to shoppers who want an Audi SUV without moving up to a larger one. The downside is that its stripped-down equipment and modest value proposition can limit how much pricing power it has later.

Vehicles with solid owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Is the 2016 Audi Q3 safe?

The 2016 Q3 is a 2015 Top Safety Pick as rated by the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety and scored the top Good rating in all five crash tests.

It earns an 8/10 safety score from our experts.

The Q3’s safety equipment is limited by modern standards, though, because it does not offer a collision warning system. Blind-spot monitoring is included with the Technology package, and the model also lacks knee airbags. That means you should pay close attention to trim and option content if safety tech matters to you.

Should I buy a 2016 Audi Q3 or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2016 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2016 if:

• 32.6% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• At 63% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 8.72% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4/5 — a solid satisfaction signal.
• The 2016 Q3 stands out as Audi’s smallest SUV, with a quiet interior, nimble handling, and a lower price than larger Audi SUVs.

The bottom line: If you want the most affordable path into a compact Audi SUV and value a refined cabin over lots of features, the 2016 is the right year to focus on. If you’re shopping strictly on value, you should be especially selective about condition and equipment, because the Q3’s appeal depends heavily on finding the right listing at the right price.

How does the 2016 Audi Q3 compare to the 2016 BMW X1?

Our experts score the 2016 Audi Q3 6/10 and the 2016 BMW X1 7/10. The Q3 leans more toward quiet comfort and a premium feel, while the X1 edges ahead on overall expert appeal and performance. If you want the more affordable used price and a calmer driving experience, the Q3 makes sense; if you want the stronger all-around package, the X1 has the advantage.
