Is the 2016 Audi A4 a good car?

Yes — the 2016 Audi A4 earns a 5/5 user rating, which points to strong owner satisfaction. The overview describes it as a well-rounded compact luxury sedan with a balance of comfort, technology, and driving appeal, and it highlights the fourth-generation updates that improved rear-seat room, cargo capacity, and handling. It also notes that the car’s premium character and useful equipment make it a distinctive used luxury choice, especially if you want a refined sedan rather than a class leader in every category. With 35.2% of listings marked as good or great deals, you have a meaningful number of opportunities to shop selectively.

Is the 2016 Audi A4 reliable?

Owners rate it 5/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction. The overview says the 2015 and 2016 models from the fourth generation have few issues according to CarComplaints.com, which supports the case for this year as a sensible pre-owned choice. It also frames the car as a refined, well-developed version of the A4 rather than an early-production risk. For used buyers, that suggests lower long-term ownership risk than you might expect from a premium sedan of this age, though condition still matters.

What should I look for when buying a used 2016 Audi A4?

At 58.1% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.

You should run a vehicle history report before you commit, then prioritize a pre-purchase inspection from a shop that knows luxury sedans. Focus on signs of prior bodywork, uneven panel gaps, interior wear, and any evidence that the car’s technology or comfort features are not working as they should.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2016 Audi A4?

This is a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can shop patiently and still find worthwhile options.

• Deal availability: 35.2% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 704 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 4.59% compared with last year.
• Clean inventory: 58.1% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $11,242, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2016 Audi A4's resale value?

The current average of $11,462 sits slightly below last year's $12,013.

That softer pricing can help you buy more confidently now, but it also means future resale gains may be limited unless you choose a well-kept example. If you plan to sell later, condition and documentation will matter more because the market is already pricing in some depreciation. A clean history and strong maintenance record should help your car stand out when it is time to list it.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 5/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Should I buy a 2016 Audi A4 or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2016 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2016 if:

• 35.2% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• At 58.1% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 4.59% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 5/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.

Consider the 2017 if:

• At $13,420, the 2017 costs more than the current year's $11,462 average.
• The 2017 brings a full redesign with a more modern, forward-looking cabin and technology.

The bottom line: If you want the better value play, the 2016 is the primary path because it combines a lower average price with strong satisfaction and a favorable market trend. If you are willing to spend more for a newer-feeling redesign and more advanced tech, the 2017 is the better secondary path for buyers who prioritize modernization over price.
