How much does the 2015 Toyota RAV4 cost?

Prices have held steady compared to this time last year, signaling a stable and predictable market for this model year.

There are 2,028 listings available, which gives you a solid amount of inventory to compare before you buy.

Is the 2015 Toyota RAV4 a good car?

Yes — the 2015 Toyota RAV4 earns a 4.88/5 user rating and a 7.33/10 expert rating. The model scores 9/10 across Form and function and Cost effectiveness.

Owners consistently praise its reliability, spaciousness, and impressive fuel economy, and many also call out its good handling and comfortable ride. That lines up with the RAV4’s everyday-use appeal: it is practical, easy to live with, and well suited to city and highway driving. With 34.2% of listings priced as good or great deals, you still have room to shop selectively.

Is the 2015 Toyota RAV4 reliable?

Owners rate it 4.88/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

User feedback points to reliability, and the ownership picture is reinforced by comments about trouble-free use, dependable day-to-day driving, and strong long-term appeal. The expert evaluation also describes trouble as unlikely and notes strong dependability and reliability ratings from major consumer sources. Free scheduled maintenance for the first 2 years or 25,000 miles adds another ownership perk.

For used buyers, the main long-term risk is making sure the specific vehicle has been maintained well, since condition and history matter more than the model’s overall reputation.

What should I look for when buying a used 2015 Toyota RAV4?

At 52.3% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.

You should start with a vehicle-history report and then prioritize a thorough pre-purchase inspection, especially if the listing price looks unusually attractive. Focus on body condition, signs of prior repair, and whether the equipment on the car matches the trim you expect. If you are shopping a higher-mileage example, pay extra attention to maintenance records and how the vehicle drives on a test route.

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The LE, XLE, and Limited trims differ in appearance and equipment, and the base trim is the one most likely to leave you wanting more features.
• Powertrain: A 176-hp, 2.5-liter 4-cylinder engine is the only engine offered, paired with a 6-speed automatic transmission and Eco, Normal, and Sport driving modes.
• Safety package: Every version gets a rear-view camera, while blind-spot monitoring, rear cross-traffic alert, and lane-departure warning are tied to the optional Technology Package on the Limited trim.
• Infotainment: The available Entune setup uses a 6.1-inch touchscreen and includes smartphone-app features, but the interface can be frustrating to use.
• Fuel efficiency: The RAV4 is estimated at 25 mpg combined, and the test vehicle returned 26 mpg in mixed highway-heavy driving.

Which 2015 Toyota RAV4 trim should I buy?

The 2015 Toyota RAV4 is offered in 3 trim levels: LE, XLE, and Limited.

Here's the short version:

• LE: This is the simplest way into the RAV4 lineup, so it makes sense if you want the lowest-cost path to the model’s core strengths and do not need extra convenience features.
• XLE: This is the best-value choice for most shoppers because it adds more everyday appeal without pushing you all the way to the top of the range. The test vehicle’s XLE setup also shows how this trim can be paired with useful options like all-wheel drive and navigation.
• Limited: Choose this if you want the most equipment and are willing to pay for it. It is the only trim that can get the optional Technology Package, which adds blind-spot monitoring, rear cross-traffic alert, and lane-departure warning.

The safety-package features are limited to the top Limited trim, so if those driver-assistance items matter to you, shop accordingly.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2015 Toyota RAV4?

This is a moderate market, so you can shop selectively without expecting a deep buyer’s market.

• Deal availability: 34.2% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 2,028 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have held steady compared with last year.
• Clean inventory: 52.3% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $13,928, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2015 Toyota RAV4's resale value?

The current average of $14,638 sits slightly above last year's $14,544.

That small increase suggests the RAV4 has held value fairly well, which is a good sign if you plan to sell later. Stable pricing also points to steady demand rather than a market that is swinging sharply in either direction. For you, that means a well-kept example should remain relatively easy to move when it is time to trade or sell.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.88/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Is the 2015 Toyota RAV4 safe?

The 2015 Toyota RAV4 earns a Top Safety Pick rating from IIHS and a four-star overall crash-test rating from NHTSA, with a three-star protection rating for the front passenger in the frontal-impact assessment.

It earns a 6/10 safety score from our experts.

Every version gets a rear-view camera, which helps with reversing. If you want more advanced driver assistance, you need the optional Technology Package on the Limited trim, which adds blind-spot monitoring, rear cross-traffic alert, and lane-departure warning. The main caveat is that Toyota’s own active cruise control and active braking are unavailable, and the NHTSA passenger frontal result is weaker than the overall score.

Should I buy a 2015 Toyota RAV4 or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2015 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2015 if:

• 34.2% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• At 52.3% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.
• Price trend: Prices have held steady compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.88/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.
• Improved crash-test ratings help this year stand out within the RAV4 lineup.

Consider the 2014 if:

• At $13,630, the 2014 costs less than the current year's $14,638 average.
• It is a practical crossover with class-leading cargo capacity and a reputation for being the dependable choice.

The bottom line: If you want the stronger all-around pick, the 2015 is the better target because it combines steady pricing, strong owner satisfaction, and improved safety standing. If your priority is saving money up front, the 2014 is the more budget-friendly route and still delivers the RAV4’s core practicality.
