How much does the 2015 Toyota RAV4 cost?

Prices have held steady compared to this time last year, signaling a stable and predictable market for this model year.

There are 2,046 listings available, which gives you a solid amount of inventory to compare before you buy.

Is the 2015 Toyota RAV4 a good car?

Yes — it earns a 4.88/5 user rating and a 7.33/10 expert rating. The model scores 9/10 across Form and function and Cost effectiveness.

Owners consistently praise its reliability, spaciousness, and impressive fuel economy, and they also call out good handling and a comfortable ride. For everyday use, the overview points to broad appeal thanks to practical utility, strong cargo space, and easy drivability. 33.5% of listings are priced as good or great deals, which suggests there are still worthwhile opportunities in the market.

Is the 2015 Toyota RAV4 reliable?

Owners rate it 4.88/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

User feedback repeatedly points to reliability, and the ownership-cost commentary reinforces that trouble is unlikely and that the vehicle is viewed highly for dependability and quality. The driving notes also describe the powertrain as peppy and refined, which supports the sense that the RAV4 is built to be easy to live with over time. Toyota also includes free scheduled maintenance for the first 2 years or 25,000 miles of ownership.

For used buyers, the main long-term risk is less about outright durability and more about finding a well-kept example with complete service history.

What should I look for when buying a used 2015 Toyota RAV4?

At 53% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.

You should start with a vehicle history report and then prioritize a careful inspection of body panels, paint consistency, and signs of prior repair. Because this model’s appeal is tied to practicality and low ownership stress, condition matters a lot: a clean, well-maintained example is more likely to deliver the experience you want. If you’re comparing listings, focus on maintenance records, tire wear, brake condition, and any evidence that the cabin electronics still work properly.

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: Toyota offers the RAV4 in three trim levels: LE, XLE, and Limited. The cabin is described as simple and handsome, but the lower parts of the dashboard and door panels use glossy hard plastic to keep costs in check. The Limited is the only trim that can get the optional Technology Package, so base-trim shoppers should expect fewer advanced safety features.
• Powertrain: A 176-hp, 2.5-liter 4-cylinder engine is standard, paired with a 6-speed automatic transmission. The engine is peppy and refined, though it can feel a bit underpowered from a stop. The RAV4 is tuned more for everyday efficiency and easy drivability than for excitement.
• Safety package: Every version gets a rear-view camera. Blind-spot monitoring, rear cross-traffic alert, and lane-departure warning are part of the optional Technology Package, which is available only on the Limited trim. Active cruise control and active braking are unavailable.
• Infotainment: The touchscreen measures 6.1 inches. The Entune suite adds smartphone apps, Internet radio, Bing search, Facebook Places, HD Radio, and traffic and weather reports, but the interface can be frustrating to use.
• Fuel efficiency: The RAV4 is estimated at 25 mpg in combined driving, and one test returned 26 mpg.

Which 2015 Toyota RAV4 trim should I buy?

The 2015 Toyota RAV4 is offered in 3 trim levels: LE, XLE, and Limited.

Here's the short version:

• LE: This is the entry point if you want the RAV4’s core strengths at the lowest cost. It gives you the basic practicality, cargo space, and everyday usability that define the model, but you should expect the fewest convenience and safety extras.
• XLE: This is the best-value choice for most shoppers because it adds more equipment without pushing you all the way to the top of the range. The test vehicle was an XLE with optional all-wheel drive and navigation, which shows how this trim can be configured for buyers who want a more complete daily driver.
• Limited: This is the trim to choose if you want the most features and the only path to the optional Technology Package. That package adds blind-spot monitoring, rear cross-traffic alert, and lane-departure warning, making the Limited the right pick if safety tech matters most.

The safety package’s most desirable features are reserved for the Limited trim, so lower trims are best if you’re prioritizing value over advanced driver assistance.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2015 Toyota RAV4?

This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can shop patiently but still move quickly on the right listing.

• Deal availability: 33.5% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 2,046 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have held steady compared with last year.
• Clean inventory: 53.0% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $13,928, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2015 Toyota RAV4's resale value?

The current average of $14,772 sits slightly above last year's $14,650.

That small increase suggests the market has stayed stable rather than swinging sharply in either direction. For a future seller, that kind of pricing pattern is helpful because it points to predictable demand and less risk of a sudden value drop. The RAV4’s practical reputation and broad appeal should continue to support interest from used buyers.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.88/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Is the 2015 Toyota RAV4 safe?

The 2015 RAV4 earns a Top Safety Pick rating from the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety and a four-star overall crash-test rating from NHTSA. It also receives a three-star protection rating for the front passenger in the frontal-impact assessment.

It earns a 6/10 safety score from our experts.

Every version gets a rear-view camera, but the more advanced driver-assistance features are limited. Blind-spot monitoring, rear cross-traffic alert, and lane-departure warning are bundled into the optional Technology Package, and that package is available only on the Limited trim. Active cruise control and active braking are unavailable, and Toyota Safety Connect is missing altogether.

The main caveat is that the NHTSA frontal-impact result is weaker for the front passenger, so safety-conscious shoppers should pay close attention to trim and equipment level.

Should I buy a 2015 Toyota RAV4 or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2015 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2015 if:

• 33.5% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• At 53% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.
• Price trend: Prices have held steady compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.88/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.
• Improved crash-test ratings help this year stand out.

Consider the 2014 if:

• At $13,687, the 2014 costs less than the current year's $14,772 average.
• It emphasizes class-leading cargo capacity and dependable everyday usefulness.

The bottom line: Choose the 2015 if you want the stronger all-around package and are comfortable paying a bit more for a stable, well-liked used SUV. If your priority is saving money upfront, the 2014 is the better value play, especially if you can find one in clean condition with a solid maintenance record.
