What should I look for when buying a used 2015 Toyota Camry?

At 44.8% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.

You should start with a vehicle history report and then prioritize a pre-purchase inspection, especially if the car has higher mileage or visible cosmetic wear. Focus on condition, maintenance records, and whether the features you want are actually present on the trim you’re considering. If you’re shopping a Camry with more equipment, make sure the added technology and safety systems work as intended.

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The LE is the most basic version, with cloth upholstery, steel wheels, and a simpler feature set, while the SE adds sportier styling and suspension tuning. The XSE and XLE bring more upscale equipment, with the XSE leaning sporty and the XLE leaning comfort-oriented.
• Powertrain: The Camry uses a 3.5-liter V6 in the higher-output versions, paired with a 6-speed automatic transmission and paddle shifters. The V6 delivers strong acceleration, but the driving experience still favors comfort over sportiness.
• Safety package: Toyota’s Safety Connect is reserved for the XLE, and the available driver-assistance package adds blind-spot monitoring, cross-traffic alert, lane-departure warning, adaptive cruise control, pre-collision warning and braking, and automatic high-beam control. Some trims miss out on Safety Connect.
• Infotainment: The standard system uses a 6.1-inch touchscreen with USB and Bluetooth, while higher trims can get a 7-inch screen with voice recognition, HD Radio, traffic and weather features, Entune App Suite, and wireless smartphone charging.
• Fuel efficiency: The V6 test car returned 22.9 mpg in mixed driving, and the source material says the EPA suggested 25 mpg for that setup.

Which 2015 Toyota Camry trim should I buy?

The 2015 Toyota Camry is offered in 4 trim levels: LE, SE, XSE, XLE.

Here's the short version:

• LE: This is the value play if you want the lowest entry point and can live with the basics. You still get useful equipment like a rear-view camera, power features, cruise control, and the standard touchscreen system.
• SE: This is the best-value trim for many shoppers because it adds a sportier suspension, upgraded wheels, and more distinctive interior and exterior details without jumping all the way to the luxury end.
• XSE: Choose this if you want the sportiest feel and the richest feature mix short of the top luxury trim. It adds LED running lights, larger wheels, dual-zone climate control, rear air vents, and an upgraded infotainment setup.
• XLE: Pick this if comfort and upscale touches matter most. It swaps the sportier setup for a softer ride, leather upholstery, and a more premium cabin feel.

Safety Connect is limited to the XLE, and the available advanced safety package adds blind-spot monitoring, cross-traffic alert, lane-departure warning, adaptive cruise control, pre-collision warning and braking, and automatic high-beam control.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2015 Toyota Camry?

Act selectively, because this is still a seller’s market even though there are enough listings to compare.

• Deal availability: 28.9% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 1,769 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices are up 5.49% year-over-year.
• Clean inventory: 44.8% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $12,392, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2015 Toyota Camry's resale value?

The current average of $13,258 sits slightly above last year's $12,568.

That upward move suggests the market still sees value in this model year, which can help support resale strength if you buy carefully. The year-round range is tight, so well-kept examples should remain relatively easy to price and sell. Strong demand also tends to favor cars with the right equipment and clean history.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.83/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Is the 2015 Toyota Camry safe?

The 2015 Toyota Camry earns a mix of four- and five-star ratings from the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, and it earns a Top Safety Pick commendation from the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety.

It earns a 9/10 safety score from our experts.

Toyota’s available driver-assistance setup includes blind-spot monitoring, cross-traffic alert, lane-departure warning, adaptive cruise control, pre-collision warning and braking, and automatic high-beam headlight control. Safety Connect is limited to the XLE, so not every trim gets the same emergency-assistance coverage.

The source material also notes that the lane-departure warning can be intrusive, so that’s worth testing during your drive.

Should I buy a 2015 Toyota Camry or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2015 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2015 if:

• 28.9% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• At 44.8% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.
• Price trend: Prices are up 5.49% year-over-year.
• Owners rate it 4.83/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.
• It adds a more polished design, upgraded interior, and expanded infotainment and safety tech.

Consider the 2014 if:

• At $11,990, the 2014 costs less than the current year's $13,258 average.
• It is a practical, affordable, and safe daily driver.

Consider the 2016 if:

• At $13,863, the 2016 costs more than the current year's $13,258 average.
• It offers a competent, well-rounded hybrid experience with strong space and feature content.

The bottom line: If you want the best balance of style, features, and market availability, the 2015 is the primary target. If your budget is tighter, the 2014 is the better value path; if you want a newer and more feature-rich hybrid-oriented alternative, the 2016 is worth a look.
