How much does the 2015 RAM 1500 cost?

Prices have softened 6.80% compared to this time last year, making it a favorable time to shop this model year.

There are 4,621 listings available, which suggests you have a solid amount of inventory to compare.

Is the 2015 RAM 1500 a good car?

With a user rating of 3.85/5 and an expert rating of 7.67/10, the 2015 RAM 1500 lands in appealing territory for shoppers who want a full-size truck that can do more than just work.

The model scores 8/10 across Look and feel, Form and function, Cost effectiveness, and Safety.

Owners commonly praise its powerful performance, luxury features, and comfort, and many also like its efficient towing ability and enjoyable driving experience. The overview points to a truck that works well whether you want utility or a more upscale feel, with a cabin range that stretches from work truck to luxe cruiser.

The market shows 28.4% good or great deals, which gives you some room to shop selectively.

Is the 2015 RAM 1500 reliable?

The 2015 RAM 1500 is presented as a truck that has aged well, with a powertrain lineup that includes two strong options and a cabin that can suit both work and comfort-focused buyers.

Owners describe it as powerful and comfortable, and many say they appreciate how efficiently it tows and how enjoyable it is to drive. The expert evaluation also calls the V6 and 8-speed automatic entirely unnoticeable, which is a good sign for smooth day-to-day dependability.

At the same time, some owners mention engine issues and rust, so long-term ownership risk is worth taking seriously on used examples.

What should I look for when buying a used 2015 RAM 1500?

At 64.2% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.

You should start with a vehicle history report and then prioritize a pre-purchase inspection, especially if the truck has been used for towing or hard work. Focus on body condition, rust, and signs of wear in the cabin and mechanicals, since owner feedback points to both engine concerns and rust.

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The lineup spans work-truck and luxury-oriented versions, with the HFE adding diesel efficiency, the Big Horn/Lone Star serving as the volume-oriented consumer pick, and the Laramie, Laramie Longhorn, and Laramie Limited aiming at buyers who want a more upscale feel. Less expensive trims can come with more basic systems, while the 8.4-inch Uconnect touchscreen is standard above the Outdoorsman.
• Powertrain: You can choose from a 3.6-liter V6, a 5.7-liter Hemi V8, or a 3.0-liter EcoDiesel. The V6 is smooth and capable, the Hemi brings stronger towing, and the EcoDiesel is the mileage-focused choice if you can justify its higher price.
• Safety package: The truck includes standard airbags, pretensioning seatbelts, antilock brakes, brake assist, and electronic stability control with trailer sway control. Optional blind-spot monitoring, a backup camera, and front and rear parking sensors add useful coverage, with parking sensors standard on Laramie Editions.
• Infotainment: An optional 8.4-inch Uconnect touchscreen is available in most trims and standard above the Outdoorsman. Ram also offers a 7-inch multifunction instrument display, though lower trims can have more basic systems.
• Fuel efficiency: The V6 returns 17 mpg city/25 highway in rear-wheel drive or 16/23 in 4-wheel drive. The 5.7-liter Hemi gets 15/22 in rear-wheel drive or 15/21 in 4-wheel drive. The EcoDiesel reaches 20/28 in rear-wheel drive or 19/27 in 4-wheel drive, with the coming HFE diesel rated at 21/29.

Which 2015 RAM 1500 trim should I buy?

The 2015 RAM 1500 is offered in 10 trim levels: Tradesman, Express, HFE, SLT, Big Horn/Lone Star, Outdoorsman, Sport, R/T, Laramie, Laramie Longhorn, and Laramie Limited.

Here's the short version:

• Tradesman: This is the work-site fleet choice, so it makes sense if you want the most basic path into the lineup and care more about utility than amenities.
• Express: Step up here if you want a little more presence than the Tradesman without moving far up the price ladder.
• HFE: This is the efficiency-focused pick, and it stands out because it offers the diesel engine and is the trim to consider if fuel economy matters most.
• SLT: A popular pick for buyers, this is a sensible middle-ground choice if you want a well-rounded truck without chasing luxury features.
• Big Horn/Lone Star: This is the consumer volume model and the best-value trim to consider if you want a few more content upgrades above the SLT.
• Outdoorsman: Choose this if you want a more niche truck setup and plan to move beyond the basic trims.
• Sport: This trim is aimed at buyers who want a more distinctive appearance and includes the R/T option as part of the Sport trim.
• R/T: Pick this if you want the Sport trim’s more aggressive character and the 22-inch wheels mentioned for this model year.
• Laramie: This is the first of the luxury trims and suits you if you want a more upscale truck for everyday use.
• Laramie Longhorn: Choose this if you want luxury-trim appeal with a more premium feel than the mainstream trims.
• Laramie Limited: This is the top luxury choice and the one to target if you want the most upscale version of the 2015 Ram 1500.

The safety content also notes that front and rear parking sensors are standard on Laramie Editions, which is a useful trim-level advantage if parking assistance matters to you.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2015 RAM 1500?

This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can shop carefully and still find worthwhile listings.

• Deal availability: 28.4% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 4,621 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 6.80% compared with last year.
• Clean inventory: 64.2% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $15,910, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2015 RAM 1500's resale value?

The current average of $15,919 sits slightly below last year's $17,080.

That decline suggests the truck has become more affordable for used buyers, but it also means future sellers may face a softer pricing environment than owners saw a year ago. If you buy well now, you may be entering at a more favorable point in the cycle than someone who purchased earlier. For resale, condition and history will matter more than ever, especially on higher-mileage trucks or examples with prior damage.

Is the 2015 RAM 1500 safe?

The 2015 RAM 1500 earns four-star ratings overall from NHTSA, including four-star ratings in frontal crash and five-star ratings in side impacts.

It earns an 8/10 safety score from our experts.

The safety package includes standard airbags, pretensioning seatbelts, antilock brakes, brake assist, and electronic stability control with trailer sway control. Optional blind-spot monitoring, a backup camera, and front and rear parking sensors add useful protection, and the truck’s high seating position and strong visibility help behind the wheel.

Should I buy a 2015 RAM 1500 or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2015 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2015 if:

• 28.4% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• At 64.2% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 6.80% compared with last year.
• The 2015 stands out for its handsome looks, strong chassis, and two great powertrain options.

Consider the 2016 if:

• At $17,545, the 2016 costs more than the current year's $15,919 average.
• It adds a more luxurious Limited trim and an even stronger upscale focus.

The bottom line: the 2015 is the better value if you want a full-size Ram with strong comfort, capability, and a softer used price. If you want the most upscale version of this truck and are willing to pay more, the 2016 is the better path.
