How much does the 2015 RAM 1500 cost?

Prices have softened 7.64% compared to this time last year, making it a favorable time to shop this model year.

There are 4,477 listings available, which suggests you have a solid amount of inventory to compare.

Is the 2015 RAM 1500 a good car?

The 2015 RAM 1500 is a solid pick if you want a full-size truck that balances comfort, style, and capability, though your satisfaction will depend on how much you value refinement over newer design. It earns 3.9/5 from owners and 7.7/10 from experts.

The model scores 8/10 across Look and feel, Form and function, Cost effectiveness, and Safety.

Owners commonly praise its powerful performance, luxury features, and comfort, and many also like its towing ability and enjoyable driving experience. The overview also points to a truck that can be configured from work truck to luxe cruiser, so it fits both practical hauling and more upscale daily use.

Only 32.4% of listings are priced as good or great deals, so the market is selective rather than broadly discounted.

Is the 2015 RAM 1500 reliable?

The 2015 RAM 1500 is presented as a truck that has aged well and still provides a good value-for-money proposition. Owners often describe it as powerful, comfortable, and enjoyable to drive, and the expert review says the truck’s capable V6 and 8-speed transmission are “entirely unnoticeable,” which is a strong sign of smooth, trouble-free operation.

The expert review also notes that the EcoDiesel can be a smart long-term choice if you plan to keep the truck a while and drive a lot, though its higher upfront cost can make payback slower. For used buyers, that means long-term ownership risk is more about condition, maintenance history, and how the truck was used than about the basic driving experience.

What should I look for when buying a used 2015 RAM 1500?

At 64% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.

You should start with a vehicle history report and then prioritize a pre-purchase inspection, especially if the truck has higher mileage or signs of heavy towing use. Pay close attention to body condition, rust, and whether any comfort or convenience features work as expected. Because this truck can be configured in many ways, make sure the equipment on the listing matches what you want before you commit.

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The lineup ranges from work-focused trims to luxury-oriented versions, with the HFE emphasizing highway efficiency and the Laramie, Laramie Longhorn, and Laramie Limited aimed at buyers who want a more upscale cabin. Base trims can feel more spartan, while higher trims add more comfort and convenience equipment.
• Powertrain: You can choose from a 3.6-liter V6, a 5.7-liter Hemi V8, or a 3.0-liter EcoDiesel. The V6 is described as capable and smooth, the Hemi brings stronger towing ability, and the EcoDiesel is the efficiency play if you can justify its higher price.
• Safety package: The truck includes standard airbags, pretensioning seatbelts, antilock brakes, brake assist, and electronic stability control with trailer sway control. Blind-spot monitoring, a backup camera, and front and rear parking sensors are available, with parking sensors standard on Laramie Editions.
• Infotainment: An optional 8.4-inch Uconnect touchscreen is available in most trims and standard above the Outdoorsman. Less expensive trims can have more basic systems, so check the exact setup carefully.
• Fuel efficiency: The V6 is rated at 17 mpg city and 25 mpg highway in rear-wheel drive, while the EcoDiesel reaches 20 mpg city and 28 mpg highway in rear-wheel drive.

Which 2015 RAM 1500 trim should I buy?

The 2015 RAM 1500 is offered in 10 trim levels: Tradesman, Express, HFE, SLT, Big Horn/Lone Star, Outdoorsman, Sport, R/T, Laramie, Laramie Longhorn, and Laramie Limited.

Here's the short version:

• Tradesman: This is the work-site choice if you want the most basic, fleet-oriented setup and plan to keep costs down.
• Express: Step up here if you want a little more everyday appeal than the Tradesman without moving far up the price ladder.
• HFE: This is the efficiency-focused pick, and it stands out if highway mileage matters more than luxury or towing bragging rights.
• SLT: This is a sensible middle-ground trim for buyers who want a popular, well-rounded configuration without chasing premium extras.
• Big Horn/Lone Star: This is the best-value trim for many shoppers because it adds more consumer-friendly content while staying below the luxury end of the range.
• Outdoorsman: Choose this if you want a more niche truck personality and a trim that sits above the mainstream work-focused models.
• Sport: This is the right fit if you want a more distinctive appearance and the R/T option that comes with it.
• R/T: This is the performance-flavored choice in the lineup, and it makes sense if you want the Sport trim’s character with a more aggressive edge.
• Laramie: Pick this if you want a clear move into luxury-truck territory with a more upscale cabin and features.
• Laramie Longhorn: This is for buyers who want a premium, more distinctive luxury presentation.
• Laramie Limited: This is the top-end choice if you want the most upscale version of the truck and the strongest luxury impression.

Parking sensors are standard on Laramie Editions, while blind-spot monitoring and the backup camera are available across the lineup.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2015 RAM 1500?

This is a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you have room to shop carefully without expecting every listing to be a bargain.

• Deal availability: 32.4% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 4,477 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 7.64% compared with last year.
• Clean inventory: 64.0% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $15,599, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2015 RAM 1500's resale value?

The current average of $15,599 sits slightly below last year's $16,889.

That decline suggests the truck has become more affordable for used buyers, but it also means sellers may need to price competitively to move inventory. If you own one, condition and equipment will matter a lot when you go to sell, especially because the market already reflects some age-related depreciation. Well-kept trucks with desirable trims or powertrains should still hold up better than rougher examples.

Is the 2015 RAM 1500 safe?

The 2015 RAM 1500 earns a four-star overall rating from NHTSA, including four-star ratings in frontal crashes and five-star ratings in side impacts.

It earns an 8/10 safety score from our experts.

The safety setup includes standard airbags, pretensioning seatbelts, antilock brakes, brake assist, and electronic stability control with trailer sway control. Blind-spot monitoring is available, the backup camera is highlighted as especially useful, and front and rear parking sensors are optional on most trims and standard on Laramie Editions.

Should I buy a 2015 RAM 1500 or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2015 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2015 if:

• 32.4% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• At 64% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 7.64% compared with last year.
• The 2015 stands out for its handsome looks, comfortable interior, and two great powertrain options.

Consider the 2016 if:

• At $17,272, the 2016 costs more than the current year's $15,599 average.
• It adds a more luxurious Limited trim and an available air suspension.

The bottom line: If you want the better value and are comfortable shopping carefully, the 2015 is the smarter buy. If you want a more upscale truck and can stretch your budget, the 2016 is the more premium path.

How does the 2015 RAM 1500 compare to the 2015 Ford F-150?

Our experts score the 2015 RAM 1500 7.7/10 and the 2015 Ford F-150 8.8/10. The Ford has the stronger overall expert score, but the Ram is the more affordable used buy and offers a lower average price. The Ram also has a slightly better good-and-great-deal share, while the Ford has a bit more inventory and a slightly higher accident-free share.
