What should I look for when buying a used 2015 Nissan Rogue?

At 54.9% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.

You should start with a vehicle history report and then prioritize a careful inspection of body panels, paint consistency, and any signs of prior repair. Because the safety record includes weaker frontal-crash results, condition and accident history matter even more than usual. It also makes sense to verify that the features you want are actually present, since equipment varies by trim and package.

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The base S trim includes keyless entry, LED running lights, a tilt-and-telescoping steering wheel, a 5-inch display with rear-view camera, and a USB interface with auxiliary audio input. The SV adds alloy wheels, roof rails, a 6-way power driver’s seat, dual-zone automatic climate control, and NissanConnect, while the SL brings heated leather seats, heated mirrors, voice control, a power liftgate, a 7-inch touchscreen, navigation, and an 8-speaker Bose stereo. The base trim is the one most likely to feel light on convenience features.
• Powertrain: The Rogue uses a single 170-hp 4-cylinder engine with a continuously variable transmission, and you can choose front-wheel drive or all-wheel drive. The setup is described as underpowered and noisy, though the AWD version is rated at 25 mpg city/32 highway/28 combined.
• Safety package: The Premium Package adds blind-spot warning, lane-departure warning, forward-collision warning, and moving-object detection. It is available on the SV and SL, and the SL also gets auto-leveling LED headlights with that package.
• Infotainment: Base models use a 5-inch display, while the SL gets a 7-inch touchscreen with navigation and the Around View camera system. NissanConnect is included on the SV, and the SL adds the upgraded audio setup.
• Fuel efficiency: The AWD model is rated at 25 mpg city/32 highway/28 combined.

Which 2015 Nissan Rogue trim should I buy?

The 2015 Nissan Rogue is offered in 3 trim levels: S, SV, SL.

Here's the short version:

• S: This is the value play if you want the Rogue’s core strengths at the lowest entry point. You still get keyless entry, LED running lights, a rear-view camera, and the basic infotainment setup, but it is the most stripped-down choice for convenience features.
• SV: This is the best-value trim for most shoppers because it adds alloy wheels, roof rails, a power driver’s seat, dual-zone climate control, and NissanConnect without jumping all the way to the top trim. It also opens the door to the optional third row and the Premium Package.
• SL: This is the right pick if you want the most comfort and tech, including heated leather seats, a power liftgate, the 7-inch touchscreen, navigation, and the Bose audio system. It is the most fully equipped version, but it also pushes the price up quickly.

The Premium Package adds the full suite of safety warnings, and the SL also gets auto-leveling LED headlights with that package.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2015 Nissan Rogue?

This is a moderate market for selective buyers, so it rewards comparison shopping more than impulse buying.

• Deal availability: 31.7% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 2,094 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 2.99% compared with last year.
• Clean inventory: 54.9% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $9,498, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2015 Nissan Rogue's resale value?

The current average of $9,505 sits slightly below last year's $9,798.

That decline suggests the Rogue has softened a bit in the used market, which can help you buy at a more favorable entry price today. For a future seller, that also means resale performance may depend heavily on condition, mileage, and equipment rather than just the badge alone. Well-kept examples with desirable features should hold up better than rougher, lower-equipped ones.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.86/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Is the 2015 Nissan Rogue safe?

The 2015 Nissan Rogue earns an overall four-star rating from NHTSA, with five-star ratings in side crashes, four-star ratings in rollover, and three-star driver and two-star passenger ratings in frontal crashes.

It earns a 4/10 safety score from our experts.

Standard safety equipment includes stability and traction control, 4-wheel discs, a rear-view camera, and hill-start assist, and AWD adds hill-descent control. The Premium Package adds blind-spot warning, lane-departure warning, forward-collision warning, and moving-object detection. The main caveat is the weak frontal-crash performance, which is the biggest safety drawback to keep in mind.

Should I buy a 2015 Nissan Rogue or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2015 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2015 if:

• 31.7% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• At 54.9% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 2.99% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.86/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.
• Expert testing highlights a polished redesign with a more mature, elegant look and strong everyday appeal.

Consider the 2014 if:

• At $8,826, the 2014 costs less than the current year's $9,505 average.
• It offers available safety equipment at a reasonable price and a strong value proposition.

The 2015 is the better pick if you want the more polished version of this generation and are willing to pay a bit more for it. If your priority is simply getting into a Rogue for less money, the 2014 is the more budget-friendly path.
