Used 2015 Nissan Altima for Sale nearNewark, NJ

How much does the 2015 Nissan Altima cost?

Prices have softened 7.05% compared to this time last year, making it a favorable time to shop this model year.

There are 1,587 listings available, which gives you a solid pool of options to compare on price and condition.

Is the 2015 Nissan Altima a good car?

Yes — the 2015 Nissan Altima earns a 4.7/5 user rating and an 8/10 expert rating. The model scores 9/10 across Form and function, Technology, and Safety.

Owners consistently praise its smooth performance, reliability, fuel economy, comfortable interior, and modern features. That lines up with the overview: you get a well-rounded family sedan that emphasizes balance, comfort, and everyday usability more than drama.

You also get a car that is positioned as a practical daily driver with enough talent to keep you engaged, especially if you value responsive handling and a quiet, comfortable cabin. 25.6% of listings are priced as good or great deals, which suggests there are worthwhile opportunities if you shop carefully.

Is the 2015 Nissan Altima reliable?

Owners rate it 4.7/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

Owner feedback points to reliability, smooth performance, and trouble-free everyday use as recurring strengths. The expert notes also describe the car as dependable in the sense that it delivers a calm, composed driving experience with strong fuel economy and a comfortable interior.

The cost-effectiveness notes are more cautious, saying the Altima’s quality, dependability, and reliability ratings trend average. That means you should focus on maintenance records and overall condition, because long-term ownership risk is more about individual vehicle history than the model’s basic appeal.

What should I look for when buying a used 2015 Nissan Altima?

At 46.4% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.

You should start with a vehicle history report and then prioritize a pre-purchase inspection, especially if the car has been in a collision or shows uneven wear. Pay close attention to bodywork, tire condition, interior wear, and how the car drives at low and highway speeds.

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The 2.5 SV adds 17-inch aluminum wheels, fog lights, NissanConnect with Mobile Apps, a hands-free text-messaging assistant, a USB port, satellite radio, a reversing camera, dual-zone automatic climate control, an 8-way power driver’s seat with power lumbar support, a leather-wrapped steering wheel, and remote engine start. The base 2.5 is stripped down by comparison, so the SV is the better value if you want a more complete everyday setup.
• Powertrain: The 2.5-liter 4-cylinder makes 182 horsepower and uses a refined CVT. It is tuned for lively, efficient driving rather than outright excitement.
• Safety package: The Altima includes Easy Fill Tire Alert, smart automatic headlights linked to the windshield wipers, and a reversing camera on most models. Blind-spot monitoring, lane-departure warning, and Moving Object Detection are available on the 2.5 SV and 2.5 SL, and standard on the 3.5 SV and 3.5 SL.
• Infotainment: The standard screen is 5 inches, while the Technology Package upgrades it to 7 inches and adds voice recognition, SiriusXM traffic, and Travel Link. NissanConnect also supports smartphone syncing and text-messaging features.
• Fuel efficiency: The Altima is rated at 27 mpg city and 38 mpg highway, and the expert’s observed combined driving returned 27.8 mpg.

Which 2015 Nissan Altima trim should I buy?

The 2015 Nissan Altima is offered in 2 trim levels: 2.5 SV, 2.5 SL.

Here's the short version:

• 2.5 SV: This is the best-value choice if you want the strongest mix of equipment and price. You get the core comfort and tech upgrades, plus useful features like the reversing camera, dual-zone climate control, and remote engine start.
• 2.5 SL: Choose this if you want a more upscale setup and are willing to pay more for it. It builds on the SV’s equipment and is the better fit if you want the most premium version of the 2.5 lineup.

For safety, the 2.5 SV and 2.5 SL can be optioned with blind-spot monitoring, lane-departure warning, and Moving Object Detection, while those features are standard on the 3.5 SV and 3.5 SL.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2015 Nissan Altima?

This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can shop patiently but should move quickly on strong listings.

• Deal availability: 25.6% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 1,587 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 7.05% compared with last year.
• Clean inventory: 46.4% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $8,149, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2015 Nissan Altima's resale value?

The current average of $8,185 sits slightly below last year's $8,805.

That softer pricing suggests the model has already absorbed some depreciation, which can help future sellers if they buy at the right price today. If you purchase near the low end of the range and keep the car in strong condition, you may have a better chance of limiting your loss later.

Demand should also stay supported by the model’s strong owner satisfaction and broad appeal as a practical midsize sedan. Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.7/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Is the 2015 Nissan Altima safe?

The 2015 Nissan Altima earns a five-star overall rating from NHTSA and a Top Safety Pick rating from IIHS.

It earns a 9/10 safety score from our experts.

The Altima includes Easy Fill Tire Alert, smart automatic headlights linked to the windshield wipers, and a reversing camera on most models. Blind-spot monitoring, lane-departure warning, and Moving Object Detection are available on the 2.5 SV and 2.5 SL, and standard on the 3.5 SV and 3.5 SL.

One caveat is that some of the more advanced driver-assistance features are not standard on every trim, so you should confirm equipment carefully if those systems matter to you.

Should I buy a 2015 Nissan Altima or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2015 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2015 if:

• 25.6% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• At 46.4% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 7.05% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.7/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.
• The 2015 stands out for responsive handling, strong fuel economy, and a well-rounded family-sedan character.

Consider the 2014 if:

• At $7,630, the 2014 costs less than the current year's $8,185 average.
• It prioritizes safety, fuel efficiency, comfort, and affordability over driving excitement.

Consider the 2016 if:

• At $9,245, the 2016 costs more than the current year's $8,185 average.
• It brings a deep refresh with crisp styling, excellent economy, and more tech.

The bottom line: Buy the 2015 if you want the best balance of price, efficiency, and everyday usability. If your budget is tighter, the 2014 is the value play; if you want newer styling and more tech, the 2016 is the upgrade path.
