Why it stands out
The 2015 Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution stands out in the competitive performance sedan market due to its rich motorsport heritage and powerful turbocharged engine. Building on decades of rally experience, the Evo combines extreme performance with practical everyday usability. Its sophisticated all-wheel drive system, paired with a turbocharged 2.0-liter engine, creates an exhilarating driving experience that balances speed and control. Drivers appreciate the Evo for its robust engineering and responsive handling, which has garnered a dedicated fan base despite Mitsubishi's shift away from performance-focused vehicles. While it does boast a thrilling driving experience, some may find the ride quality a bit harsh and the interior materials lacking when compared to its competitors. Nonetheless, the Evo remains a compelling choice for enthusiasts seeking a unique blend of practicality and performance.

A very high price tag for a bare bones rally race car. You will pay the Evo Tax (about 10 grand extra for features you don’t get). It was simply built to go fast, not for luxury. Interior leaves much to be desired with the best part being Recaro racing seats (if equipped) and possibly a sunroof depending on trim. A simple tachometer and speedometer are all that’s on the dash along with no screen/backup camera on the GSR models I looked at. If you want to settle for an automatic, the MR trim offers a nice screen on the dash, but you sacrifice the race car essence, which is probably the entire reason you’re buying this car. I’ve compared the Evo X and WRX STI in person, the Subaru has way more features inside along with factory digital boost gauge, screen & backup cam, along with a 6 speed transmission & sunroof standard. All in all I give a 7/10 to the Evo, for full blown go fast machine that you will end up putting more money into to get aftermarket features that aren’t equipped from factory, and that is after spending the $25,000-$35,000 for it’s used price tag.
2015 Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution Trims
| Trim type | MSRP |
|---|---|
| GSR | $34,495 |
| MR | $38,995 |
| AWD Final Edition | $37,995 |
