Is the 2015 Mazda MAZDA6 a good car?

Yes — the 2015 Mazda MAZDA6 earns a 4.89/5 user rating and an 8.67/10 expert rating. The model scores 10/10 across Look and feel and Safety.

Mazda also says the first scheduled maintenance visit is on the house.

For used buyers, the main long-term ownership risk is less about the car’s core durability and more about finding one that has been maintained well and not worn hard.

What should I look for when buying a used 2015 Mazda MAZDA6?

At 50.5% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.

You should start with a vehicle history report and then prioritize a pre-purchase inspection, especially if the car has had bodywork or multiple owners. Focus on condition details that matter in daily use, including interior wear, electronics, and evidence of consistent maintenance. If a listing looks especially clean and well-kept, that matters here because the market includes a sizable number of cars with accident history.

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: Sport models are the simplest version, while Touring adds leatherette, dual-zone automatic climate control, a power driver’s seat, rear air vents, keyless passive entry with push-button start, 19-inch aluminum wheels, and blind-spot monitoring with rear cross-traffic alert. Grand Touring adds leather seats, heated front seats, a power sunroof, bi-Xenon headlights with LED running lights, navigation, and a Bose sound system.
• Powertrain: Every Mazda6 uses a 2.5-liter 4-cylinder engine with direct fuel injection and a higher compression ratio. A 6-speed manual is standard on Sport and Touring, while the automatic is standard on Grand Touring and available on lower trims.
• Safety package: The car includes a reversing camera and Mobile 911 connectivity on all models except the Sport with a manual gearbox. Touring adds blind-spot monitoring with rear cross-traffic alert, and Grand Touring adds Smart City Brake Support. A package on Touring can also add automatic headlights, rain-sensing wipers, and navigation.
• Infotainment: The system includes MazdaConnect services, Bluetooth calling and music streaming, text-messaging support, Aha Radio, HD Radio, a USB port, Pandora Internet radio, and available navigation. The upgraded audio setup uses an 11-speaker surround-sound system.
• Fuel efficiency: EPA estimates are 26 mpg city, 38 mpg highway, and 30 mpg combined without i-ELOOP, or 28 mpg city, 40 mpg highway, and 32 mpg combined with i-ELOOP.

Which 2015 Mazda MAZDA6 trim should I buy?

The 2015 Mazda MAZDA6 is offered in 3 trim levels: Sport, Touring and Grand Touring.

Here's the short version:

• Sport: This is the entry point, and it gives you the Mazda6’s core styling and driving character at the lowest price. It makes the most sense if you want the car’s fundamentals and are willing to live with the fewest convenience and safety extras.
• Touring: This is the best-value trim for many shoppers because it adds a lot of everyday comfort and convenience, including leatherette, dual-zone climate control, keyless entry with push-button start, rear vents, and blind-spot monitoring with rear cross-traffic alert.

Should I buy a 2015 Mazda MAZDA6 or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2015 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2015 if:

• 30.8% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• At 50.5% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 1.24% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.89/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.
• It combines upscale styling, engaging driving dynamics, and strong fuel economy in a mainstream midsize package.

Consider the 2016 if:

• At $12,538, the 2016 costs more than the current year's $11,481 average.
• It brings a sleeker, more upscale look and a more technologically advanced feel.

The 2015 is the better pick if you want the stronger value proposition and a wider pool of discounted listings. If you can stretch for the next year and want a slightly more upscale presentation, the 2016 is worth a look, but price-sensitive buyers should focus on the 2015.
