CarGurus Analysis: 2015 Lincoln MKC
overall

Summary
With 242 currently listed for sale and an average price of $9,805.00, 25.6% of 2015 Lincoln MKCs for sale on CarGurus are rated as good or great deals.
Favorably reviewed: Owners rated the 2015 Lincoln MKC 4.71 / 5 stars and CarGurus experts gave it a 7.17 / 10.
59.9% of 2015 MKC models on CarGurus are accident free.
Why it stands out
The 2015 Lincoln MKC stands out as Lincoln’s new entry-level luxury crossover, created to help sharpen a brand image that had become somewhat muddled. It aims to make a strong first impression with a turbocharged 4-cylinder engine, and the test-drive notes emphasize that it delivers nearly 300 horsepower with torque to match. That combination gives the MKC a more performance-minded personality than many buyers might expect from a compact luxury crossover, while the available adaptive suspension and panoramic sunroof add to its appeal.
Inside, the MKC’s distinctive character comes from its upscale presentation. The test-drive data points to sexy interior materials, which helps the cabin feel more premium than its class position might suggest. Owners also tend to praise the smooth ride, comfort, and luxurious features, along with the value for the price and the practical options available. The main drawback is space: some reviewers wished for more legroom and cargo room, suggesting that the interior can feel a bit cramped, especially for passengers.

Initial impression was great. Comfortable to drive and has a luxurious feel to it. Pictures made it seem much larger than it was though, along with some other reviews from 3rd parties noting it was comparable to a Ford escape. The inside felt more like a compact hatchback. Comfy for the driver and front passenger if the chairs are all the way back but you wouldnt be able to fit any additional passengers comfortably and the trunk has very little space.

CarGurus tracks the prices of millions of used car listings every year. See how the average price of 2015 Lincoln MKC prices has changed over time.
See more price trendsHow much does the 2015 Lincoln MKC cost?
| Metric | Value |
|---|---|
| Current Average Price | $9,752 |
| Year-Round Low | $9,755.05 |
| Year-Round High | $11,298.57 |
| Average Price a Year Ago | $11,104 |
| Change vs. Last Year | −12.17% |
Prices have softened 12.17% compared to this time last year, making it a favorable time to shop this model year.
There are 248 listings available, which gives you a modest amount of inventory to compare before you buy.
If you find a listing below $9,755.05, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.
Is the 2015 Lincoln MKC a good car?
Yes — the 2015 Lincoln MKC earns a 4.71/5 user rating and a 7.17/10 expert rating. The standout strength is Safety at 9/10.
Owners consistently praise the smooth ride, comfort, and luxurious features, and they also like the value for the price and the practical options available. The MKC’s use case is clear: it’s aimed at you if you want a compact luxury crossover that feels upscale and brings a more performance-minded personality than many rivals.
With 27.4% of listings marked as good or great deals, there’s still some room to shop selectively.
Is the 2015 Lincoln MKC reliable?
Owners rate it 4.71/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.
The user feedback points to a vehicle that feels smooth, comfortable, and luxurious, while also being practical enough for everyday use. That kind of praise usually lines up with a car you can count on for regular driving, especially when owners keep returning to the same themes over time.
The expert notes also emphasize that the MKC is built to handle commuting and highway duties without much fuss, which supports the idea of solid day-to-day dependability. If you’re shopping used, the main long-term ownership risk is making sure the specific example you choose has been maintained well and hasn’t been worn down by the kind of option-heavy, higher-cost ownership this model can invite.
What should I look for when buying a used 2015 Lincoln MKC?
At 58.1% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.
You should start with a vehicle history report and then prioritize a careful inspection of bodywork, alignment, and any signs of prior repair. Because this model can be optioned heavily, it’s also smart to focus on whether the features you care about actually work as intended, especially on higher-mileage examples. A clean-looking listing is not enough; condition and documentation matter a lot here.
Key things to evaluate:
- Trim level: The base setup leaves out some of the more desirable convenience and safety upgrades, while higher-spec versions add features like blind-spot alerts, navigation, heated and cooled front seats, and a hands-free liftgate.
- Powertrain: The turbocharged 2.0-liter engine makes 240 hp and 270 lb-ft of torque, while the 2.3-liter version brings nearly 300 horsepower and stronger torque, with fuel economy varying by drivetrain.
- Safety package: The available driver-assistance suite includes adaptive cruise with forward sensors, lane-keeping assist, blind-spot monitoring, frontal-collision prevention with pre-brake, and rear cross-traffic alerts.
- Infotainment: The MKC offers navigation with voice recognition and a THX sound system, and the tech package adds more safety-oriented equipment.
- Fuel efficiency: The 2.0-liter returns 20 mpg city/29 highway in FWD form and 19/26 with AWD, while the 2.3-liter is rated at 18/26.
Which 2015 Lincoln MKC trim should I buy?
The 2015 Lincoln MKC is offered in 1 trim level: MKC.
Here's the short version:
The MKC is best approached as a single-trim shopping exercise, with value determined more by options than by trim stepping. If you want the most appealing version, look for one that includes the Reserve Equipment Group and the technology and climate upgrades, since those add the features that make the MKC feel properly luxurious and easier to live with.
The safety package note is worth keeping in mind: some driver-assistance features are optional rather than standard, so you should verify exactly what’s installed on the specific vehicle you’re considering.
Is now a good time to buy a used 2015 Lincoln MKC?
The market looks moderate, so you can shop selectively without expecting a deep bargain on every listing.
- Deal availability: 27.4% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
- Inventory: There are 248 listings available.
- Price trend: Prices have softened 12.17% compared with last year.
- Clean inventory: 58.1% of listings are accident-free.
If you find a listing below $9,755.05, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.
What is the 2015 Lincoln MKC's resale value?
The current average of $9,752 sits slightly below last year's $11,104.
That decline suggests the MKC has become more affordable for used buyers, but it also means a future seller may need to price competitively to stand out. If you buy well and keep the vehicle in good condition, the current softer market can help you get in at a lower cost basis. Strong equipment, clean history, and good maintenance records should matter more when it’s time to resell.
Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.71/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.
Is the 2015 Lincoln MKC safe?
The MKC earns a Good rating from IIHS and a four-star overall rating from NHTSA, with four-star frontal and five-star side-impact ratings.
It earns a 9/10 safety score from our experts.
The MKC comes with stability and traction control, 4-wheel antilock disc brakes, a rear-view camera, and a full set of airbags, including a driver’s knee airbag and full-length side curtains. You can also add blind-spot monitoring, frontal-collision prevention with pre-brake, lane-keeping assist, and rear cross-traffic alerts. One caveat is that the NHTSA noted the left-side passenger door opened during the side-impact test, so you should pay close attention to body integrity and repair quality on any used example.
Should I buy a 2015 Lincoln MKC or consider a different year?
If you're weighing the 2015 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:
Choose the 2015 if:
- 27.4% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
- At 58.1% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.
- Price trend: Prices have softened 12.17% compared with last year.
- Owners rate it 4.71/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.
- The 2015 MKC’s expert notes highlight a turbocharged engine, upscale interior materials, and a strong mix of comfort and performance-minded character.
The bottom line: If you want the lower entry price and the specific mix of luxury, comfort, and turbocharged performance this year offers, the 2015 is the one to target. If you’re especially price-sensitive, focus on the cleanest, best-documented example you can find rather than stretching for extra equipment on a rougher vehicle.
