CarGurus Analysis: 2015 Lincoln MKC
overall

Summary
With 255 currently listed for sale and an average price of $9,793, 29.8% of 2015 Lincoln MKC listings on CarGurus are rated as good or great deals.
Favorably reviewed: Owners rated the 2015 Lincoln MKC 4.71 / 5 stars and CarGurus experts gave it a 7.17 / 10.
57.3% of 2015 Lincoln MKC listings on CarGurus are accident free.
Why it stands out
The 2015 Lincoln MKC stands out as Lincoln’s new entry-level luxury crossover, and its appeal starts with the way it tries to make the brand feel more focused. It is positioned as a compact luxury SUV that aims to catch attention with a premium look and a strong feature set rather than simply blending into the crowd.
One of its most distinctive traits is the engine choice described in the test-drive data: a turbocharged 4-cylinder with nearly 300 horsepower and torque to match. That gives the MKC a more performance-oriented personality than many buyers might expect from an entry-level luxury crossover. The same source also points to sexy interior materials, an optional adaptive suspension, and a panoramic sunroof, all of which help give it a more upscale feel. Owners echo that impression, often praising the smooth ride, comfort, and luxurious features, along with the value it offers.
The MKC is not without compromises, though. Some drivers wish it had more legroom and cargo space, suggesting that its cabin can feel a bit cramped, especially for passengers. Even so, for buyers who want a stylish, comfortable luxury crossover with a strong engine and a premium presentation, the 2015 Lincoln MKC has a lot to offer.

Initial impression was great. Comfortable to drive and has a luxurious feel to it. Pictures made it seem much larger than it was though, along with some other reviews from 3rd parties noting it was comparable to a Ford escape. The inside felt more like a compact hatchback. Comfy for the driver and front passenger if the chairs are all the way back but you wouldnt be able to fit any additional passengers comfortably and the trunk has very little space.

What should I look for when buying a used 2015 Lincoln MKC?
At 57.3% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.
You should start with a vehicle history report and then prioritize a pre-purchase inspection, especially if the listing has any accident history or a long option list. Focus on body condition, panel alignment, and signs of prior repair, since those issues can matter more than cosmetic luxury features on a used crossover. It also makes sense to confirm that the equipment you want is actually present, because some of the most desirable features were tied to specific packages.
Key things to evaluate:
- Trim level: The MKC’s base setup is more modest than the better-equipped versions, and the higher trims add the luxury touches that make the cabin feel more upscale. If you want the strongest mix of comfort and features, look for the version with the richer equipment set rather than the most basic build.
- Powertrain: The MKC offers a turbocharged 2.0-liter engine with 240 hp and 270 lb-ft of torque, and a stronger 2.3-liter turbocharged engine with nearly 300 horsepower and more torque. The 2.0-liter returns 20 mpg city/29 highway in FWD form and 19/26 with AWD, while the 2.3-liter is rated at 18/26.
- Safety package: The MKC includes stability and traction control, 4-wheel antilock disc brakes, a rear-view camera, and a full set of airbags, including a driver’s knee airbag and full-length side curtains. Blind-spot monitoring, frontal-collision prevention with pre-brake, lane-keeping, and rear cross-traffic alerts are available, and some of those features are tied to higher equipment levels.
- Infotainment: The tech setup includes a THX sound system, navigation with voice recognition, and easy phone pairing. The panoramic sunroof can brighten the cabin, but it can also wash out the screens in strong sunlight.
- Fuel efficiency: The 2.0-liter engine returns 20 mpg city/29 highway in FWD form and 19/26 with AWD, while the 2.3-liter engine is rated at 18/26.
Which 2015 Lincoln MKC trim should I buy?
The 2015 Lincoln MKC is offered in 2 trim levels: Base and Reserve.
Here's the short version:
- Base: This is the trim to target if you want the MKC’s core luxury-crossover experience at the lowest entry point. It gives you the premium look and the standard safety equipment, but you’ll want to verify which convenience and driver-assistance features are included on the specific listing.
- Reserve: This is the best-value trim if you want the MKC to feel fully like a luxury SUV. It adds the richer comfort and convenience equipment that makes the cabin more appealing, and it’s the better choice if you care most about the upscale presentation.
The safety package is strong overall, but some of the more advanced driver-assistance features are optional rather than standard.

What is the 2015 Lincoln MKC's resale value?
The current average of $9,778 sits slightly below last year's $11,053.
That decline suggests the MKC has already absorbed a meaningful amount of depreciation, which can help you as a buyer today. For a future seller, it means resale value may be steadier from here if the vehicle is well maintained and equipped with desirable features. Listings with strong condition and a clean history should be easier to move than examples with prior damage or missing equipment.
Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.7/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.
Is the 2015 Lincoln MKC safe?
The MKC earns a Good rating from IIHS and a four-star overall rating from NHTSA, with four-star frontal crash and five-star side impact ratings.
It earns a 9/10 safety score from our experts.
The MKC comes with stability and traction control, 4-wheel antilock disc brakes, a rear-view camera, and a full set of airbags, including a driver’s knee airbag and full-length side curtains. Blind-spot monitoring, frontal-collision prevention with pre-brake, lane-keeping, and rear cross-traffic alerts are available, but some of those features are not standard. The safety writeup also notes that the left-side passenger door opened during the side-impact test, which is worth keeping in mind when you evaluate crash protection.
