CarGurus Analysis: 2015 Lincoln MKC
overall

Summary
With 258 currently listed for sale and an average price of $10,040, 27.5% of 2015 Lincoln MKCs for sale on CarGurus are rated as good or great deals.
Favorably reviewed: Owners rated the 2015 Lincoln MKC 4.71 / 5 stars and CarGurus experts gave it a 7.17 / 10.
58.5% of 2015 MKC models on CarGurus are accident free.
Why it stands out
The 2015 Lincoln MKC debuts as a new entry-level luxury crossover, and that alone helps set it apart. Lincoln positioned it as a way to sharpen a brand image that had become somewhat muddled, while giving shoppers a compact luxury SUV with a more upscale feel than its size might suggest.
What makes the 2015 MKC especially distinctive is the combination of performance-minded hardware and luxury touches. The test-drive summary highlights a turbocharged 4-cylinder engine with nearly 300 horsepower and torque to match, along with sexy interior materials, an optional adaptive suspension, and a panoramic sunroof. Those ingredients make it easy to see why the MKC could stand out to buyers looking for something more memorable than a typical small crossover.
At the same time, the MKC is not without compromises. Owner feedback points to a smooth ride, comfort, and strong value for the price, but also notes that legroom and cargo space can feel limited. That balance of upscale appeal, useful equipment, and some interior tightness defines the 2015 Lincoln MKC’s character.

Initial impression was great. Comfortable to drive and has a luxurious feel to it. Pictures made it seem much larger than it was though, along with some other reviews from 3rd parties noting it was comparable to a Ford escape. The inside felt more like a compact hatchback. Comfy for the driver and front passenger if the chairs are all the way back but you wouldnt be able to fit any additional passengers comfortably and the trunk has very little space.

How much does the 2015 Lincoln MKC cost?
| Metric | Value |
|---|---|
| Current Average Price | $10,021 |
| Year-Round Low | $9,728 |
| Year-Round High | $11,119 |
| Average Price a Year Ago | $11,115 |
| Change vs. Last Year | −9.84% |
Prices have softened 9.84% compared to this time last year, making it a favorable time to shop this model year.
There are 260 listings available, which suggests you should have a workable range of choices.
Is the 2015 Lincoln MKC a good car?
Yes — the 2015 Lincoln MKC earns a 4.71/5 user rating and a 7.17/10 expert rating. The standout strength is Safety at 9/10.
Drivers consistently praise the smooth ride, comfort, and luxurious features, and they also call out the strong value for the price. The MKC’s upscale feel and practical options make it appealing if you want a compact luxury crossover that feels more special than its size suggests.
At the same time, the overview points to a vehicle that can feel tight inside, especially for legroom and cargo space. That means it makes the most sense if you value comfort, style, and features more than maximum cabin room. The share of good and great deals is 27.3%, which helps support the case for shopping carefully.
Is the 2015 Lincoln MKC reliable?
Owners rate it 4.71/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.
The user feedback points to a dependable-feeling ownership experience, with drivers repeatedly highlighting comfort, value, and practical features they can count on. The expert drive notes also emphasize that the MKC is well suited to commuting and highway duties, which reinforces the sense that it is built for everyday use rather than constant drama.
The cost-effectiveness notes also suggest that the MKC can be a smart buy if you keep the configuration simple, since the price climbs quickly with options. For used buyers, the main long-term ownership risk is less about outright satisfaction and more about choosing a well-kept example that hasn’t been loaded up with expensive equipment you may not need.
What should I look for when buying a used 2015 Lincoln MKC?
At 58.5% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.
You should start with a vehicle history report and then prioritize a careful inspection of bodywork, panel alignment, and signs of prior repair. Because the MKC can be option-heavy, it also makes sense to confirm that the features you care about are actually present and working as expected. Focus on overall condition first, then make sure the equipment level matches the listing.
Key things to evaluate:
- Trim level: The base setup includes a turbocharged 2.0-liter engine, while higher-spec versions add more luxury equipment such as heated and cooled front seats, a hands-free liftgate, navigation, and a panoramic sunroof. The base trim is the one most likely to leave you wanting more features.
- Powertrain: You get a turbocharged 2.0-liter engine with 240 hp and 270 lb-ft of torque, and an available 2.3-liter engine with nearly 300 hp and more torque. The 2.0-liter returns 20 mpg city/29 highway in FWD form and 19/26 with AWD.
- Safety package: The available driver-assistance suite includes blind-spot monitoring, frontal-collision prevention with pre-brake, lane-keeping assist, and rear cross-traffic alerts. Some of these features are optional rather than standard.
- Infotainment: The tech setup includes a THX sound system, navigation with voice recognition, and easy phone pairing. The panoramic sunroof can make the cabin feel brighter and roomier, though it can wash out the screens in strong sunlight.
- Fuel efficiency: The 2.0-liter engine returns 20 mpg city/29 highway in FWD form and 19/26 with AWD. The 2.3-liter AWD setup is rated at 18/26.
Which 2015 Lincoln MKC trim should I buy?
The 2015 Lincoln MKC is offered in 1 trim level: MKC.
Here's the short version:
The MKC is best approached as a feature-driven purchase rather than a trim ladder decision, since the available content points to one core model with a wide range of equipment choices. If you want the strongest value, look for a well-equipped example that includes the features you care about without pushing the price too far beyond the base figure.
The safety package note is worth keeping in mind: blind-spot monitoring, frontal-collision prevention with pre-brake, lane-keeping assist, and rear cross-traffic alerts are available, but not all are standard.
Is now a good time to buy a used 2015 Lincoln MKC?
This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can shop with some leverage if you stay disciplined.
- Deal availability: 27.3% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
- Inventory: There are 260 listings available.
- Price trend: Prices have softened 9.84% compared with last year.
- Clean inventory: 58.5% of listings are accident-free.
If you find a listing below $9,728, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.
What is the 2015 Lincoln MKC's resale value?
The current average of $10,021 sits slightly below last year's $11,115.
That decline suggests the MKC has become more affordable for buyers, which can make it easier to move if you price it competitively later. For you as a future seller, the key takeaway is that the market has already adjusted downward, so condition, mileage, and equipment will matter a lot when it comes time to resell.
Because the year-round range runs from $9,728 to $11,119, a clean, well-optioned example should still have room to stand out from rougher listings. Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.71/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.
Is the 2015 Lincoln MKC safe?
The 2015 Lincoln MKC earns the IIHS top rating of Good and a four-star overall rating from NHTSA, with four-star frontal and five-star side-impact ratings.
It earns a 9/10 safety score from our experts.
The MKC comes with stability and traction control, 4-wheel antilock disc brakes, a rear-view camera, and a full set of airbags including driver's knee and full-length side curtains. Available driver-assistance features include blind-spot monitoring, frontal-collision prevention with pre-brake, lane-keeping assist, and rear cross-traffic alerts.
One caveat is that NHTSA noted the left-side passenger door opened during the side-impact test, so while the ratings are solid, you should still inspect any used example carefully for prior damage or poor repairs.
Should I buy a 2015 Lincoln MKC or consider a different year?
If you're weighing the 2015 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:
Choose the 2015 if:
- 27.3% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
- At 58.5% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.
- Price trend: Prices have softened 9.84% compared with last year.
- Owners rate it 4.71/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.
- The 2015 stands out as the MKC’s debut year, with a turbocharged 4-cylinder, upscale materials, and a strong safety score.
The bottom line: If you want the earliest MKC with the model’s core luxury-and-performance appeal, the 2015 is a reasonable place to start, especially if you find a clean example at the low end of the price range. If you’re more price-sensitive, keep shopping nearby years and compare condition, equipment, and accident history closely before deciding.
