Should I buy a 2015 Kia Optima or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2015 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2015 if:

• 30.4% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• At 51.1% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 9.66% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.2/5 — a solid satisfaction signal.

Consider the 2016 if:

• At $9,344, the 2016 costs more than the current year's $8,307 average.
• It brings a redesigned look with a more polished overall presentation.

The bottom line: You should lean toward the 2015 if your priority is value and you want a well-liked sedan at a lower average price. If you can spend more and want the newer redesign, the 2016 is the better upgrade path; if price matters most, the 2015 remains the smarter buy.
