overall

Summary
With 379 currently listed for sale and an average price of $7,127, 24.8% of 2015 Kia Fortes for sale on CarGurus are rated as good or great deals.
Favorably reviewed: Owners rated the 2015 Kia Forte 5 / 5 stars and CarGurus experts gave it a 7.17 / 10.

Why it stands out
The 2015 Kia Forte stands out as a small, affordable car that is also genuinely appealing. It has an attractive design and a low starting price, which gives it broad appeal for shoppers looking for value without giving up style.
One of its biggest strengths is how much equipment Kia lets buyers add if they are willing to spend more, since the car can be furnished with a wide range of goodies. Its main drawback is a serious one, though: no amount of extra money can solve its lousy rating in a tough new crash test.

Reviewed a 2015 Kia Forte on Dec 15, 2021
It was the best deal and the best bang for the buck that’s why I bought it. It’s Peppy. It handles like some expensive luxury cars. I have a base model The LX. Even with a base model I think it should have had cruise control. It has no cruise control. Not sure I would’ve bought it if I realized that at the time of purchase.

How much does the 2015 Kia Forte cost?
| Metric | Value |
|---|---|
| Current Average Price | $7,194 |
| Year-Round Low | $7,099 |
| Year-Round High | $7,960 |
| Average Price a Year Ago | $7,801 |
| Change vs. Last Year | −7.79% |
Prices have softened 7.79% compared to this time last year, making it a favorable time to shop this model year.
There are 369 listings available, which gives you a modest amount of inventory to compare before you buy.
Is the 2015 Kia Forte a good car?
Yes — the 5/5 user rating and 7.17/10 expert rating point to a car that delivers strong value for the money. The Forte’s appeal comes from its attractive design, low starting price, and the way Kia lets you add a lot of equipment as you move up the range. The standout strength is Technology at 10/10. In practical terms, that makes this a smart pick if you want a small car that feels well equipped rather than stripped down. Good and great deals make up 27.9% of listings, so you still have room to shop selectively.
Is the 2015 Kia Forte reliable?
Owners rate it 5/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction. The Forte also gets credit for low predicted ownership costs, an industry-leading warranty, and an excellent roadside assistance program. Its long-term dependability is expected to be average, so you should think of it as a sensible ownership choice rather than a standout durability leader. For used buyers, that means the biggest risk is less about day-to-day livability and more about choosing a well-kept example with a clean history.
What should I look for when buying a used 2015 Kia Forte?
At 50.7% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.
You should start with a vehicle history report and then prioritize a pre-purchase inspection, especially if the car has had bodywork or shows uneven panel gaps, paint mismatch, or tire wear. Focus on overall condition and make sure the equipment you want is actually present, since the Forte’s appeal depends heavily on how it was optioned.
Key things to evaluate:
- Trim level: The base LX is decent, but its cheap-looking 15-inch wheels stand out as the main basic item. The EX adds a peppier engine, a standard automatic transmission, Flex Steer, aluminum wheels, automatic headlights, fog lights, LED running lights, and power-folding mirrors with LED turn-signal indicators, so it suits you better if you want a more polished daily driver.
- Powertrain: The EX uses a 173-hp, 2.0-liter 4-cylinder engine with a 6-speed automatic transmission. It is adequate around town, but it is not the most energetic setup in the class.
- Safety package: UVO eServices and the reversing camera are the main tech-based safety aids mentioned, but the car lacks blind-spot warning and rear cross-traffic alert. The small overlap frontal result is a notable weak point.
- Infotainment: UVO eServices is the key upgrade, and it brings Bluetooth streaming, Pandora access, Parking Minder, 911 Connect, navigation, and a reversing camera. It is the feature set that most clearly separates better-equipped cars from the base version.
- Fuel efficiency: The EX returned 28.1 mpg in mixed driving, with official ratings of 25 mpg city and 36 mpg highway.
Which 2015 Kia Forte trim should I buy?
The 2015 Kia Forte is offered in 2 trim levels: LX and EX.
Here's the short version:
- LX: This is the value play if you want the lowest entry price and can live with the basics. It still gives you air conditioning, power windows, power door locks, Bluetooth, a USB port, satellite radio, and a decent feature set for the money. If you want the best-value trim, this is the one to start with.
- EX: This is the better choice if you want the Forte to feel more complete. You get the more powerful engine, standard automatic transmission, Flex Steer, upgraded exterior lighting, and more upscale interior touches. It is the trim that most clearly shows what the Forte can become when you spend more.
The safety content also notes that the car lacks blind-spot warning and rear cross-traffic alert, so even higher trims do not fully close that gap.
Is now a good time to buy a used 2015 Kia Forte?
This is a moderate market for selective buyers, so you can shop with some leverage if you stay patient.
- Deal availability: 27.9% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
- Inventory: There are 369 listings available.
- Price trend: Prices have softened 7.79% compared with last year.
- Clean inventory: 50.7% of listings are accident-free.
If you find a listing below $7,099, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.
What is the 2015 Kia Forte's resale value?
The current average of $7,194 sits slightly below last year's $7,801.
That tells you the Forte has softened enough to create a more buyer-friendly entry point, but it also means future sellers may face some pressure if the market keeps drifting down. The good news is that lower purchase prices can help support demand from value-focused shoppers. If you buy carefully and keep the car in strong condition, you should be in a better position to protect your exit value later.
Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 5/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.
Is the 2015 Kia Forte safe?
The 2015 Kia Forte earns a five-star overall rating from NHTSA, but its small overlap frontal-impact result is Marginal in IIHS testing.
It earns a 6/10 safety score from our experts.
The Forte’s safety story is mixed because it does well in some crash testing but falls short in the tougher small overlap test. Kia also does not load it up with many preventative safety technologies, so you should not expect a long list of advanced driver aids. The available UVO eServices features and reversing camera help, but blind-spot warning and rear cross-traffic alert are not part of the package. That makes crash-test performance and overall condition especially important when you are shopping used.
Should I buy a 2015 Kia Forte or consider a different year?
If you're weighing the 2015 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:
Choose the 2015 if:
- 27.9% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
- At 50.7% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.
- Price trend: Prices have softened 7.79% compared with last year.
- Owners rate it 5/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.
- The Forte’s strongest advantage this year is its rich tech offering, especially UVO eServices and the available feature content.
Consider the 2014 if:
- At $6,558, the 2014 costs less than the current year's $7,194 average.
- The 2014 is a more complete and competitive small car with style, space, efficiency, and in-car tech.
The bottom line: If you want the stronger value proposition and a well-equipped small car, the 2015 is the better target. If your priority is spending less up front, the 2014 is the more budget-friendly path and still brings many of the Forte’s core strengths.
