How much does the 2015 Jeep Wrangler cost?

Prices have softened 7.50% compared to this time last year, making it a favorable time to shop this model year.

There are 4,869 listings available, which suggests solid inventory for comparison shopping.

Is the 2015 Jeep Wrangler a good car?

Yes — the 2015 Jeep Wrangler earns a 4.5/5 user rating and a 6.5/10 expert rating. The standout strength is Look and feel at 8/10. Owners consistently praise its ruggedness, off-road capability, and the fun of driving it, and they also like the removable tops and doors plus the unique look. For you, that means this is a strong fit if you want a distinctive SUV with serious trail character rather than a polished commuter. The market also shows 30.5% good or great deals, which gives you some room to shop selectively.

Is the 2015 Jeep Wrangler reliable?

Owners rate it 4.5/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction. User feedback points to a vehicle that many owners find rugged, dependable, and fun to live with, especially if you value its long-term appeal and off-road personality. The expert review also emphasizes that the Wrangler’s 3.6-liter V6 is a meaningful improvement over older powerplants, with better acceleration and cruising speed than previous versions. If you buy used, the main long-term ownership risk is that wear, modifications, and age-related issues can matter more here than on a more conventional SUV.

What should I look for when buying a used 2015 Jeep Wrangler?

At 64.1% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.

You should start with a vehicle history report and then prioritize a careful inspection of body condition, rust, and signs of hard use. Pay close attention to the interior and cargo area as well, since owners note smaller cargo space and some comfort tradeoffs. If the vehicle has larger tires or other modifications, make sure those changes were done well and haven’t introduced extra wear.

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The lineup ranges from the Sport to the Sahara and Rubicon, with the Sport starting on 16-inch steel wheels and the Sport S adding 17-inch wheels and a leather-wrapped steering wheel. The Sahara adds larger 18-inch wheels and more creature comforts, while the Rubicon editions bring the most off-road hardware. The best-value choice depends on whether you want basic capability or more comfort and trail equipment.
• Powertrain: All models use a 3.6-liter V6 with a 6-speed manual transmission, and a 5-speed automatic is available. The engine is described as stronger than previous Wrangler powerplants, with better acceleration and cruising speed, and EPA fuel economy is 17 mpg city/21 highway.
• Safety package: Standard equipment includes antilock disc brakes on all four wheels, electronic stability control, and traction control. Frontal-collision avoidance, blind-spot monitoring, and lane-departure warning indicators are not available, and supplemental front airbags are a $495 option.
• Infotainment: The Wrangler can be fitted with an upgraded sound system and an available 9-speaker Alpine setup. It also offers navigation, heated seats, and leather, but the tech story is more about comfort and off-road controls than a large modern screen.
• Fuel efficiency: The Wrangler and Wrangler Unlimited manage 17 mpg city/21 highway.

Which 2015 Jeep Wrangler trim should I buy?

The 2015 Jeep Wrangler is offered in 3 trim levels: Sport, Sahara, and Rubicon.

Here's the short version:

• Sport: This is the entry point, and it gives you the Wrangler’s core identity without the extra comfort or capability upgrades. It’s the trim to consider if you want the lowest-cost path into the model and plan to keep things simple.
• Sahara: This trim adds more creature comforts, including larger 18-inch wheels and available leather. It’s the best-value choice if you want a more livable daily driver without jumping all the way to the most trail-focused version.
• Rubicon: This is the off-road-focused choice, with heavy-duty skid plates, a heavy-duty transfer case, disconnecting sway bars, and Dana 44 axles front and rear. Choose it if trail capability matters most to you.

Safety-wise, the Wrangler lacks several modern driver-assistance features, and supplemental front airbags are optional.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2015 Jeep Wrangler?

This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can shop carefully and still find worthwhile listings.

• Deal availability: 30.5% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 4,869 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 7.50% compared with last year.
• Clean inventory: 64.1% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $16,203, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2015 Jeep Wrangler's resale value?

The current average of $16,203 sits slightly below last year's $17,517.

That price movement suggests the market has eased, which can help you buy at a better entry point today. For a future seller, the softer trend means resale upside may be more limited in the short term unless your Wrangler is especially clean, well maintained, or equipped with desirable trims and options. The model’s strong enthusiast appeal still helps support demand, especially for buyers who want a Wrangler specifically rather than a generic SUV.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.5/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Is the 2015 Jeep Wrangler safe?

The Wrangler received a Moderate rating in small-overlap front collisions and head restraints and seats, a Poor rating in side collisions, and a Good rating in moderate-overlap front collisions from the IIHS. The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration gave the Wrangler only three-star ratings in rollover crash testing.

It earns a 4/10 safety score from our experts.

The safety story is limited by the Wrangler’s boxy architecture and age. Standard equipment includes antilock disc brakes, electronic stability control, and traction control, but more modern driver-assistance features such as frontal-collision avoidance, blind-spot monitoring, and lane-departure warning indicators are not available. Supplemental front airbags are optional, which is another point to check carefully on any used example.

Should I buy a 2015 Jeep Wrangler or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2015 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2015 if:

• 30.5% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• At 64.1% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 7.50% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.5/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.
• The 2015 adds an upgraded sound system and fresh editions while keeping the Wrangler’s rugged identity intact.

Consider the 2014 if:

• At $15,269, the 2014 costs less than the current year's $16,203 average.
• It delivers rugged, go-anywhere capability at a lower price.

Consider the 2016 if:

• At $17,152, the 2016 costs more than the current year's $16,203 average.
• It adds a convertible-top, year-round 4WD appeal with familiar rugged character.

The bottom line: If you want the strongest mix of price, inventory, and the Wrangler’s classic appeal, the 2015 is the main path to consider. If your priority is saving money, the 2014 is the better value play; if you want to spend more for a slightly newer alternative, the 2016 is the next step up.

How does the 2015 Jeep Wrangler compare to the 2015 Toyota 4Runner?

Our experts score the 2015 Jeep Wrangler 6.5/10 and the 2015 Toyota 4Runner 7.3/10. The Wrangler is the more affordable and more plentiful option, while the 4Runner carries a higher expert score and a higher average used price. The Wrangler also has a stronger off-road identity and a more distinctive open-air personality, but it gives up some refinement and safety confidence. If you want the more budget-friendly, enthusiast-focused choice, the Wrangler makes sense; if you want the higher-rated SUV, the 4Runner is the stronger pick.
