How much does the 2015 Jeep Wrangler cost?

Prices have softened 7.31% compared to this time last year, making it a favorable time to shop this model year.

There are 4,823 listings available, which suggests you should have a reasonable amount of inventory to compare.

Is the 2015 Jeep Wrangler a good car?

Generally — the 2015 Jeep Wrangler earns a 4.47/5 user rating and a 6.5/10 expert rating. The standout strength is Look and feel at 8/10.

Owners consistently praise its ruggedness, off-road capability, and the fun of driving it. The user feedback also highlights the removable tops and doors, plus the unique look that helps the Wrangler stand apart. In use-case terms, this is the kind of vehicle that makes the most sense if you want a distinctive, trail-focused SUV rather than a comfort-first commuter.

Good and great deals account for 34.4% of listings, so there is some room to shop selectively.

Is the 2015 Jeep Wrangler reliable?

Owners rate it 4.47/5, a solid signal of long-term satisfaction.

Owner feedback points to a vehicle that many people feel good about living with over time, especially for its ruggedness and the sense that it can handle the kind of use Wrangler buyers expect. The expert notes also emphasize that the 3.6-liter V6 is a meaningful improvement over older powerplants, with better acceleration and cruising speed than previous models.

The first scheduled maintenance visit is on the house.

For used buyers, the main long-term ownership risk is less about outright dependability and more about how hard the vehicle has been used and modified.

What should I look for when buying a used 2015 Jeep Wrangler?

At 63.8% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.

You should start with a vehicle history report and then prioritize a careful inspection of body condition, underbody wear, and signs of prior off-road use. It also makes sense to focus on how well the removable-top and door hardware works, since those are core Wrangler features that can show wear. Because some owners mention rust issues and stiffness, those are worth checking closely during an in-person evaluation.

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The Sport starts with 16-inch steel wheels, while the Sport S adds 17-inch wheels and a leather-wrapped steering wheel. The Sahara adds larger 18-inch wheels and can be fitted with optional leather, while the Willys Wheeler and Willys Wheeler W add exterior accents, black bumpers and grille details, decals, a Dana 30 front axle, a 3.73 axle ratio, and a limited-slip differential. The Rubicon editions add heavy-duty skid plates, a heavy-duty transfer case, disconnecting sway bars, and Dana 44 axles front and rear.
• Powertrain: All models use a 3.6-liter V6 with 285 hp and 260 lb-ft of torque, paired with a 6-speed manual or available 5-speed automatic. The setup is strongest at low speeds and off road, and EPA fuel economy is 17 mpg city and 21 highway.
• Safety package: Standard equipment includes antilock disc brakes on all four wheels, electronic stability control, and traction control. Frontal-collision avoidance, blind-spot monitoring, and lane-departure warning indicators are not available, and supplemental front airbags are a $495 option.
• Infotainment: The Wrangler can be fitted with an upgraded sound system and an available 9-speaker Alpine rig. It also can be fitted with navigation, but the content does not specify wireless smartphone integration or over-the-air capability.
• Fuel efficiency: The Wrangler and Wrangler Unlimited manage 17 mpg city and 21 highway, according to the EPA.

Which 2015 Jeep Wrangler trim should I buy?

The 2015 Jeep Wrangler is offered in 3 trim levels: Sport, Sahara, and Rubicon.

Here's the short version:

• Sport: This is the entry point, and it gives you the Wrangler basics at the lowest starting point. It makes the most sense if you want the core Wrangler experience and plan to keep things simple.
• Sahara: This is the best-value choice for many shoppers because it adds more creature comforts, including larger 18-inch wheels and available leather, without jumping all the way to the most off-road-focused trim.
• Rubicon: This is the trim to choose if off-road capability is your top priority, since it adds heavy-duty skid plates, a heavy-duty transfer case, disconnecting sway bars, and Dana 44 axles front and rear.

The safety content also notes that supplemental front airbags are a $495 option, so you should verify whether a specific listing includes them.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2015 Jeep Wrangler?

This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can shop carefully and still find worthwhile listings.

• Deal availability: 34.4% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 4,823 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 7.31% compared with last year.
• Clean inventory: 63.8% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $16,332, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2015 Jeep Wrangler's resale value?

The current average of $16,332 sits slightly below last year's $17,619.

That price movement suggests the Wrangler has softened enough to create a more approachable entry point for buyers today. For a future seller, that can be a mixed signal: you may not see rapid appreciation, but the model’s strong identity and steady demand can help support values better than many mainstream SUVs. The key is to buy well and keep the vehicle in clean, well-documented condition.

Vehicles with solid owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.47/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Is the 2015 Jeep Wrangler safe?

The Wrangler received a Moderate rating in small-overlap front collisions and head restraints and seats, a Poor rating in side collisions, and a Good rating in moderate-overlap front collisions from IIHS. The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration gave the Wrangler only three-star ratings in a rollover crash.

It earns a 4/10 safety score from our experts.

The Wrangler’s safety equipment includes standard antilock disc brakes on all four wheels, electronic stability control, and traction control. More modern driver-assistance features such as frontal-collision avoidance, blind-spot monitoring, and lane-departure warning indicators are not available, and supplemental front airbags are a $495 option. The weak side-collision result is the main caveat to keep in mind.

Should I buy a 2015 Jeep Wrangler or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2015 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2015 if:

• 34.4% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• At 63.8% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 7.31% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.47/5 — a solid satisfaction signal.
• It adds an upgraded sound system and fresh editions while keeping the Wrangler’s rugged identity.

Consider the 2014 if:

• At $15,421, the 2014 costs less than the current year's $16,332 average.
• It is a rugged icon with a clear off-road focus.

Consider the 2016 if:

• At $17,385, the 2016 costs more than the current year's $16,332 average.
• It adds a convertible top, year-round 4WD, and distinctive styling.

The bottom line: The 2015 is the right pick if you want the Wrangler’s classic character with a few useful updates and a softer market price than the following year. If you are especially price-sensitive, the 2014 is the value play; if you want the next year’s broader appeal and can spend more, the 2016 is the alternative to compare.
