How much does the 2015 Jeep Wrangler cost?

Prices have softened 7.78% compared to this time last year, making it a favorable time to shop this model year.

There are 4,777 listings available, which suggests you have a solid amount of inventory to compare.

Is the 2015 Jeep Wrangler a good car?

Yes — the 2015 Jeep Wrangler earns a 4.5/5 user rating and a 6.5/10 expert rating. The standout strength is Look and feel at 8/10. Owners repeatedly praise its ruggedness, off-road capability, and the fun of driving it, while also liking the removable tops and doors and the distinctive look. It fits you best if you want a vehicle with a clear identity, strong trail focus, and a more adventurous personality than a typical SUV. With 32.2% of listings marked as good or great deals, there’s also a decent amount of market opportunity if you shop carefully.

Is the 2015 Jeep Wrangler reliable?

Owners rate it 4.5/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction. Owner feedback points to a vehicle people tend to keep and enjoy for its ruggedness, off-road capability, and fun factor, while also noting some concerns around rust and stiffness. The expert evaluation also emphasizes that the Wrangler’s appeal is tied to its durable, go-anywhere character and its ability to handle rough terrain. For used buyers, the main long-term ownership risk is that condition can vary widely depending on how hard the vehicle has been used and modified.

What should I look for when buying a used 2015 Jeep Wrangler?

At 64.1% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.

You should start with a vehicle history report and then prioritize a hands-on inspection of body condition, underbody condition, and signs of wear from off-road use. Pay close attention to rust, suspension feel, and any evidence that the vehicle has been modified or driven hard. Because this model’s appeal often comes from capability rather than comfort, you’ll want to make sure the specific example you’re considering still feels tight and well cared for.

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The lineup includes Sport, Sahara, and Rubicon, with the Sport starting more basic and the Sahara adding more creature comforts. The Rubicon editions sit at the top for off-roading, while the Sport S adds 17-inch wheels and a leather-wrapped steering wheel. The Willys Wheeler trims add exterior accents, a Dana 30 front axle, a 3.73 axle ratio, and a limited-slip differential, while the Freedom Edition and Altitude add appearance and comfort touches. The Wrangler X is Sahara-based but borrows some Rubicon-style exterior cues.
• Powertrain: You get a 3.6-liter V6 with 285 hp and 260 lb-ft of torque, paired with a 6-speed manual or available 5-speed automatic. The engine is described as stronger and more comfortable than older Wrangler powerplants, with better cruising and acceleration than previous versions.
• Safety package: Standard equipment includes antilock disc brakes on all four wheels, electronic stability control, and traction control. Frontal-collision avoidance, blind-spot monitoring, and lane-departure warning indicators are not available, and supplemental front airbags are a $495 option.
• Infotainment: The Wrangler can be fitted with an upgraded sound system and an available 9-speaker Alpine rig. It can also be equipped with navigation, heated seats, and leather.
• Fuel efficiency: The Wrangler and Wrangler Unlimited manage 17 mpg city and 21 highway, according to the EPA.

Which 2015 Jeep Wrangler trim should I buy?

The 2015 Jeep Wrangler is offered in 3 trim levels: Sport, Sahara, and Rubicon.

Here's the short version:

• Sport: This is the entry point, so it makes the most sense if you want the Wrangler experience at the lowest starting point and plan to keep things simple.
• Sahara: This is the best-value choice for many shoppers because it adds more creature comforts inside and can be fitted with optional leather, making it a better everyday fit.
• Rubicon: Choose this if off-road capability is your priority, since it brings the most serious trail hardware and sits at the top of the lineup for rough-terrain use.

The Rubicon editions are the most capable off-road trims, while the Sahara is the better comfort-oriented step up.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2015 Jeep Wrangler?

This looks like a moderate market for selective buyers, with enough inventory and deal activity to reward careful shopping.

• Deal availability: 32.2% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 4,777 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 7.78% compared with last year.
• Clean inventory: 64.1% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $16,047, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2015 Jeep Wrangler's resale value?

The current average of $16,047 sits slightly below last year's $17,401.

That price movement suggests the market has cooled, which can help you buy more affordably now but may also limit near-term upside if you plan to resell soon. For a future seller, the Wrangler’s value will depend heavily on condition, mileage, and whether the vehicle has been modified or used hard. Models that remain clean, well maintained, and closer to stock should be easier to move when it’s time to sell.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.5/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Is the 2015 Jeep Wrangler safe?

The Wrangler received a Moderate rating in small-overlap front collisions and head restraints and seats, a Poor rating in side collisions, and a Good rating in moderate-overlap front collisions from the IIHS. The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration gave the Wrangler only three stars in a rollover crash.

It earns a 4/10 safety score from our experts.

The Wrangler’s safety equipment is limited by its age and boxy design. Standard equipment includes antilock disc brakes on all four wheels, electronic stability control, and traction control, but more modern driver-assistance features such as frontal-collision avoidance, blind-spot monitoring, and lane-departure warning indicators aren’t available. Supplemental front airbags are a $495 option. The poor side-impact result is the biggest caution for used buyers.

Should I buy a 2015 Jeep Wrangler or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2015 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2015 if:

• 32.2% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• At 64.1% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 7.78% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.5/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.
• The 2015 adds an upgraded sound system and fresh editions, while keeping the Wrangler’s rugged identity and Rubicon off-road focus.

Consider the 2014 if:

• At $15,158, the 2014 costs less than the current year's $16,047 average.
• It’s a rugged, affordable off-road icon with uncompromised capability.

Consider the 2016 if:

• At $16,989, the 2016 costs more than the current year's $16,047 average.
• It adds year-round versatility with a convertible top and 4-wheel drive.

The bottom line: If you want the best balance of price, availability, and the 2015 updates, this year is the smart default. If your budget is tighter, the 2014 can save you money, while the 2016 makes sense if you want to spend more for a slightly newer take.

How does the 2015 Jeep Wrangler compare to the 2015 Toyota 4Runner?

Our experts score the 2015 Jeep Wrangler 6.5/10 and the 2015 Toyota 4Runner 7.3/10. The Wrangler is the more affordable used buy here, with a lower average price and more listings to choose from. The 4Runner brings the stronger expert score and a slightly better highway fuel figure, while the Wrangler counters with a more distinctive off-road identity and a higher accident-free share. If you want the more rugged, customizable choice, the Wrangler fits that brief; if you want the higher-rated overall package, the 4Runner has the edge.
