How much does the 2015 Honda Pilot cost?

Prices have softened 4.05% compared to this time last year, making it a favorable time to shop this model year.

There are 1,493 listings available, which suggests solid inventory for comparison shopping.

Is the 2015 Honda Pilot a good car?

Yes — the 2015 Honda Pilot earns a 4.8/5 user rating and a 6/10 expert rating. The model scores 8/10 across Performance and Cost effectiveness.

Owners consistently praise the spacious interior, smooth ride, and family-friendly practicality. The Pilot’s roomy three-row layout and straightforward usefulness make it a strong fit if you need to move people and gear, even if the design feels dated. The market also shows 30.5% of listings as good or great deals, which supports the case for shopping carefully.

Is the 2015 Honda Pilot reliable?

Owners rate it 4.8/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

User feedback points to a dependable, trouble-free ownership experience for many drivers, with repeated praise for the Pilot’s spaciousness and comfort. Expert commentary also describes the model as a stout, stable crossover that handles daily use with confidence. Honda’s roadside assistance addition for 2015 adds a small ownership perk, but the mixed reliability outlook and lower-than-expected fuel economy mean you should still watch maintenance history closely on a used example. Long-term ownership risk is moderate, so a well-kept vehicle matters more than mileage alone.

What should I look for when buying a used 2015 Honda Pilot?

At 57.4% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.

You should start with a vehicle history report and confirm whether any prior damage was repaired properly. A pre-purchase inspection should focus on bodywork quality, alignment, and signs of wear that could point to harder use or incomplete repairs. Because this model is also known for dated technology and mixed fuel-economy feedback, condition matters more than feature count.

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The Touring trim adds features such as a rear-seat DVD entertainment system, hard-drive music storage, satellite radio, Bluetooth, and a 115-volt power outlet, while the base setup is much more limited in newer conveniences.
• Powertrain: The 3.5-liter V6 makes 250 hp and uses Variable Cylinder Management to help reduce fuel use on the highway, but real-world economy can fall short of the EPA estimate.
• Safety package: The Pilot lacks newer driver-assistance features such as blind-spot monitoring, forward-collision warning, lane-departure warning, adaptive cruise control, and rear cross-traffic alert.
• Infotainment: The Touring trim includes a rear-seat DVD entertainment system, Bluetooth, satellite radio, hard-drive music storage, and video input jacks, but it does not offer smartphone pairing or connected services.
• Fuel efficiency: The Pilot is rated at 20 mpg combined, and testing returned 18.3 mpg in mixed driving.

Which 2015 Honda Pilot trim should I buy?

The 2015 Honda Pilot is offered in 4 trim levels: EX, SE, EX-L, Touring.

Here's the short version:

• EX: This is the entry point, and it makes the most sense if you want the Pilot’s core space and utility without paying for extras you may not use.
• SE: This trim sits above the base setup and is a sensible step up if you want a little more equipment without chasing luxury features.
• EX-L: This is the best-value choice for many shoppers because it adds more comfort and convenience while staying below the top trim.
• Touring: Choose this if you want the most features, including the rear-seat DVD entertainment system and the richer tech package, but it is the priciest route.

The safety package is limited across the lineup, so don’t expect a trim upgrade to solve the Pilot’s missing modern driver-assistance features.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2015 Honda Pilot?

This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can shop with some leverage if you compare listings carefully.

• Deal availability: 30.5% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 1,493 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 4.05% compared with last year.
• Clean inventory: 57.4% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $11,470, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2015 Honda Pilot's resale value?

The current average of $11,470 sits slightly below last year's $11,954.

That decline suggests the Pilot has softened in the used market, which can help you as a buyer but may limit upside if you plan to resell soon. A lower entry price can make ownership easier to justify, especially if you buy well below the average and keep the vehicle in strong condition. Because demand is still supported by the Pilot’s family-friendly reputation, a clean, well-maintained example should remain easier to move than one with accident history or neglected maintenance.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.8/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Is the 2015 Honda Pilot safe?

The 2015 Honda Pilot earns a Poor rating in the IIHS small overlap front test and four-star ratings overall from NHTSA.

It earns a 3/10 safety score from our experts.

The Pilot does include the basics expected of a family SUV, but it lacks many newer driver-assistance features. Honda’s safety content also highlights the absence of blind-spot monitoring, forward-collision warning, lane-departure warning, adaptive cruise control, and rear cross-traffic alert. The poor small-overlap result is the biggest caution for used shoppers, especially if safety is a top priority.

Should I buy a 2015 Honda Pilot or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2015 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2015 if:

• 30.5% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• At 57.4% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 4.05% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.8/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.
• It offers roomy, family-focused practicality, but its dated safety and infotainment tech keep it from feeling modern.

Consider the 2014 if:

• At $10,797, the 2014 costs less than the current year's $11,470 average.
• It emphasizes practicality and space for people and cargo.

Consider the 2016 if:

• At $14,693, the 2016 costs more than the current year's $11,470 average.
• It brings a redesigned package with newer safety and infotainment technology.

The bottom line: If you want the best mix of price and usefulness, the 2015 is the value play. If you’re especially price-sensitive, the 2014 can save you money; if you want newer safety and tech, the 2016 is the smarter upgrade.
