The ownership picture is generally reassuring, though you should still expect the usual used-minivan risk of wear from heavy family use.

What should I look for when buying a used 2015 Honda Odyssey?

At 56% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.

You should start with a vehicle history report and then prioritize a thorough pre-purchase inspection, especially if the van has seen heavy family use. Pay close attention to body condition, interior wear, and signs of past repairs, since those can matter more than mileage alone on a minivan like this. If possible, compare multiple listings so you can separate a clean, well-kept example from one that has simply been used hard.

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The Touring Elite stands out for its more upscale presentation and added equipment, while lower trims are more basic in feature content. The biggest gap called out is that the Touring Elite is the only version with a traditional blind-spot monitoring system, while other trims use LaneWatch instead.
• Powertrain: The Odyssey uses a 3.5-liter V6 with 248 hp and a 6-speed automatic. It is front-wheel drive only, and the performance notes point to strong highway merging ability, refined power delivery, and a generally agreeable ride.
• Safety package: Depending on trim, you get forward-collision warning, lane-departure warning, and a multi-angle rear-view camera. The Touring Elite is the only trim with traditional blind-spot monitoring, which is a meaningful feature gap to note.
• Infotainment: The Touring Elite has a dual-screen infotainment setup with HondaLink first-generation connectivity, Bluetooth calling and music streaming, text messaging and email capability, plus a rear entertainment system. The system does not include HondaLink Assist, and the dual-screen layout is not especially intuitive.
• Fuel efficiency: The Odyssey is rated at 22 mpg combined, and the test-drive notes mention an observed 19.3 mpg in mixed use.

That softer pricing suggests the market has eased a bit, which can help you buy more affordably now. Should I buy a 2015 Honda Odyssey or consider a different year?

• The 2015 combines strong safety, family-focused practicality, and a more design-forward take on the Odyssey formula.

Consider the 2014 if:

• At $10,427, the 2014 costs less than the current year's $12,447 average.
• It is a broadly competent family hauler with strong safety, technology, performance, and comfort.
