The 2015 civic is a great value and great first car for a student or a commuter. It has great road feel, spunky power response, and good features. The visibility with the A-pillars is great thanks to the extra window. It will typically cost more vs. other competitors in the same class, but once you drive it you will understand why. I drove a Hyundai Elantra, which has almost all the same feature offerings in terms of technology and safety. For me, the Civic feels lighter, more powerful, more responsive.

Prices have held steady compared to this time last year, signaling a stable and predictable market for this model year.
There are 2,257 listings available, which gives you a solid amount of inventory to compare before you buy. If you find a listing below $11,431.89, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.
Is the 2015 Honda Civic a good car?
Yes — the 2015 Honda Civic earns a 4.5/5 user rating and an 8.67/10 expert rating. The standout strength is Cost effectiveness at 10/10.
Owners consistently praise its reliability, fuel efficiency, and user-friendly design. They also highlight the spacious interior and smooth ride, which make it especially appealing for commuters and first-time car buyers. In practical terms, the Civic fits well if you want a compact car that balances daily usability with strong value. With 27.5% of listings marked as good or great deals, you still have room to shop selectively.
Is the 2015 Honda Civic reliable?
Owners rate it 4.5/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.
Owner feedback repeatedly points to reliability, dependable ownership, and a trouble-free experience over time. The expert evaluation also emphasizes that the Civic is built around reliability and value, with a refined powertrain that helps it feel easy to live with day after day. On the ownership side, you also get 3 years or 36,000 miles of free roadside assistance, which adds a useful layer of support early in ownership.
For used buyers, the main long-term risk is less about the Civic’s core durability and more about finding one that has been maintained well and not worn down by age or mileage.
What should I look for when buying a used 2015 Honda Civic?
At 49.8% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.
You should start with a vehicle history report and then prioritize a pre-purchase inspection, especially if the car has been in a prior accident. Focus on body condition, panel alignment, and signs of repair quality, since those details matter more when nearly half of listings have some incident history. You should also make sure the equipment level matches what you expect, because some features vary by trim.
Key things to evaluate:
- Trim level: Base LX trims are the most affordable, while the EX Sedan adds a 7-inch touchscreen infotainment system with HondaLink connectivity and services, automatic climate control, LaneWatch technology, push-button engine start, a power sunroof, automatic headlights, and aluminum wheels. The interior is aging, but it still feels fresh and well put together.
- Powertrain: Most Civics use a 1.8-liter 4-cylinder engine with 143 hp and a refined CVT. It is not especially quick, but it makes merging and climbing grades relatively effortless, and the car still feels lively and fun to drive.
- Safety package: The Civic includes a standard reversing camera. LaneWatch is standard on all but the LX and SE trims, and it uses a camera on the right mirror to show the passenger-side blind spot on the touchscreen.
- Infotainment: The 7-inch touchscreen is available above the LX trim and includes HondaLink smartphone connectivity and services. It supports navigation apps, third-party apps, HondaLink Assist collision notification, and Siri Eyes Free with an iPhone.
- Fuel efficiency: The Civic should get 33 mpg in combined driving, and the test vehicle averaged 31.9 mpg. The model is also described as delivering fuel economy in the low 30-mpg range.
Which 2015 Honda Civic trim should I buy?
The 2015 Honda Civic is offered in 4 trim levels: LX, SE, EX Sedan, and Civic Si.
Here's the short version:
- Base trim: The LX is the most affordable choice, but it lacks the touchscreen infotainment system and LaneWatch, which are available on higher trims.
- Sweet-spot trim: The EX Sedan is the best all-around pick if you want the strongest mix of comfort and convenience, since it adds the 7-inch touchscreen, HondaLink, automatic climate control, push-button start, and a power sunroof.
- Premium/top trim: The Civic Si is the most fun-to-drive version, making it the best choice if you care more about performance than everyday value.
- Off-road trim: None of the trims are aimed at off-road use, so you should focus on daily-driving comfort, features, and value instead.
LaneWatch is standard on all but the LX and SE trims, so those lower trims miss one of the Civic’s more distinctive safety-related features.
Is now a good time to buy a used 2015 Honda Civic?
This is a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can shop carefully without expecting deep discounts everywhere.
- Deal availability: 27.5% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
- Inventory: There are 2,257 listings available.
- Price trend: Prices have held steady compared with last year.
- Clean inventory: 49.8% of listings are accident-free.
If you find a listing below $11,431.89, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.
What is the 2015 Honda Civic's resale value?
The current average of $12,194 sits slightly above last year's $12,179.
That small increase suggests the Civic is holding value rather than sliding, which is a good sign if you plan to sell later. Stable pricing also points to steady demand from shoppers who want a reliable, fuel-efficient compact car. Because the market has not moved sharply in either direction, you can expect resale strength to depend more on condition, mileage, and maintenance history than on timing alone.
Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.5/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.
Is the 2015 Honda Civic safe?
It earns a five-star overall rating from NHTSA and a Top Safety Pick rating from IIHS.
It earns a 9/10 safety score from our experts.
The Civic comes with a standard reversing camera, and HondaLink Assist can automatically call the authorities after a collision when paired and enabled. One notable caveat is LaneWatch: it is standard on all but the LX and SE trims, but it is not as intuitive as a traditional blind-spot monitoring system and can add distraction because you have to check another display point before changing lanes.
Should I buy a 2015 Honda Civic or consider a different year?
If you're weighing the 2015 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:
Choose the 2015 if:
- 27.5% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
- At 49.8% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.
- Price trend: Prices have held steady compared with last year.
- Owners rate it 4.5/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.
- The 2015 stands out for reliability, fuel efficiency, safety, and value without giving up everyday usability.
Consider the 2014 if:
- At $11,317, the 2014 costs less than the current year's $12,194 average.
- It offers strong value with reliable, fuel-efficient, and well-equipped compact-car basics.
Consider the 2016 if:
- At $14,138, the 2016 costs more than the current year's $12,194 average.
