Used 2015 Ford Expedition for Sale nearSan Antonio, TX

How much does the 2015 Ford Expedition cost?

Prices have softened 7.08% compared to this time last year, making it a favorable time to shop this model year.

There are 541 listings available, which gives you a solid amount of inventory to compare.

Is the 2015 Ford Expedition a good car?

Yes — 4.5/5 from owners and 8.2/10 from experts. The Expedition’s appeal is its full-size, body-on-frame SUV mission: you get three rows, a roomy cabin, and a straightforward family-hauling setup. For 2015, the biggest change is under the hood, where Ford moves to a more fuel-efficient EcoBoost V6 while keeping the model’s large-SUV usefulness intact.

The model scores 9/10 across Performance, Technology, and Safety.

That combination makes it a strong fit if you want a large SUV that prioritizes space, towing, and everyday utility over sleek styling. 32.7% of listings are priced as good or great deals, so there’s meaningful market opportunity if you shop carefully.

Is the 2015 Ford Expedition reliable?

Owners rate it 4.5/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

The Expedition’s reliability case is helped by its straightforward truck-based design and its focus on familiar, practical hardware. The expert review also points to a smooth ride, solid braking, and a powertrain that delivers strong performance without feeling strained. The move to the EcoBoost V6 adds a more modern mechanical direction while preserving the SUV’s core capability.

Warranty coverage includes 3 years/36,000 miles bumper to bumper, 5 years/60,000 miles for the safety-restraint system, 5 years/unlimited miles against corrosion, and 5 years/60,000 miles of roadside assistance.

For used buyers, the main long-term ownership risk is that a large, heavy SUV can be costly to keep fed and maintained if you drive it often.

What should I look for when buying a used 2015 Ford Expedition?

At 63.2% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.

You should start with a vehicle history report and then prioritize a thorough pre-purchase inspection, especially if the listing price looks unusually attractive. Focus on body condition, signs of prior repair, and whether the truck’s size-related wear points line up with the seller’s description. Because this is a large SUV, you’ll also want to pay close attention to how it drives, brakes, and handles at speed.

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The XLT is the base trim and comes with manual air conditioning, rear auxiliary climate control, power windows and door locks, a reverse-sensing system, a rear-view camera, and a 4.2-inch display. Higher trims add more comfort and convenience, with the Limited bringing standard heated and cooled front seats, a power liftgate, remote start, and an 8-inch touchscreen, while the Platinum makes most premium features standard.
• Powertrain: Every trim uses the 3.5-liter EcoBoost V6 with 365 hp and 420 lb-ft of torque paired with a 6-speed SelectShift automatic transmission. The review says the missing V8 is not something you really feel, and the engine has no trouble moving the Expedition’s size.
• Safety package: Standard equipment includes 6 airbags, rear-door child-safety locks, power 4-wheel antilock disc brakes with electronic brakeforce distribution, a tire pressure monitoring system, SOS post-crash alert system, a rear-view camera, and reverse sensing. Available upgrades include blind-spot information, cross-traffic alert, forward sensing, and an integrated trailer brake controller.
• Infotainment: The XLT uses Sync with MyFord Voice with a 4.2-inch screen, while higher trims get Sync with MyFord Touch with an 8-inch touchscreen, two 4.2-inch instrument-cluster screens, and a second USB port. Wireless smartphone integration is not mentioned, but the system does include voice control, SiriusXM, USB connectivity, and available navigation.
• Fuel efficiency: The Expedition is EPA rated at 15 mpg city/20 highway/17 combined, and the review notes an average of 16.8 mpg in testing.

Which 2015 Ford Expedition trim should I buy?

The 2015 Ford Expedition is offered in 8 trim levels: XLT, XLT EL, XLT Premium, Limited, Limited EL, King Ranch, King Ranch EL, Platinum, Platinum EL.

Here's the short version:

• XLT: This is the entry point, and it gives you the core Expedition experience at the lowest price. You get the basics you need, including the rear-view camera, reverse sensing, and the standard EcoBoost V6, but the cabin and infotainment are the most dated here.
• XLT EL: Choose this if you want the longer wheelbase without moving up the trim ladder. It keeps the same standard equipment as the XLT, so it’s mainly about extra space rather than extra features.
• XLT Premium: This is the best-value step up if you want more comfort without jumping to the pricier luxury trims. It adds dual-zone automatic climate control, a premium stereo with subwoofer, a leather-wrapped shift knob, and woodgrain trim.
• Limited: This is the sweet spot for many shoppers because it turns many desirable options into standard equipment. You get heated and cooled front seats, a power liftgate, remote start, second-row heated outboard seats, and the upgraded infotainment system.
• Limited EL: Pick this if you want the Limited’s equipment with the longer wheelbase. It adds space, but not extra features beyond the standard Limited setup.
• King Ranch: This is the style-and-luxury choice, with unique Mesa Brown leather, special badging, power deployable running boards, and a power moonroof. It suits you if you want a more distinctive cabin and exterior presentation.
• King Ranch EL: This is the long-wheelbase version of the King Ranch, so it’s for you if you want the same upscale character with more room.
• Platinum: This is the top-end choice, with nearly every available feature made standard. It’s the one to buy if you want the most luxurious and fully equipped Expedition.
• Platinum EL: This is the most spacious and most upscale version, combining the Platinum’s equipment with the longer wheelbase.

The safety package is strong across the lineup, but the available blind-spot information system, cross-traffic alert, and forward sensing features are worth prioritizing if you’re shopping higher trims or optioned examples.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2015 Ford Expedition?

The market looks selective rather than overheated, so you can shop with some leverage if you’re patient and compare listings carefully.

• Deal availability: 32.7% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 541 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 7.08% compared with last year.
• Clean inventory: 63.2% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $11,262, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2015 Ford Expedition's resale value?

The current average of $11,400 sits slightly below last year's $12,268.

That decline suggests the market has moved in buyers’ favor, which can make it harder for a future seller to command a premium unless the vehicle is especially clean, well maintained, and well equipped. For you, that means buying at the right price matters more than usual if you want to protect your eventual resale position.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.5/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Is the 2015 Ford Expedition safe?

The 2015 Ford Expedition earns five-star ratings overall from NHTSA, with five-star frontal and side crash ratings, and rollover ratings that vary by drivetrain: four-star for 4WD models and three-star for RWD versions.

It earns a 9/10 safety score from our experts.

The Expedition’s standard safety equipment includes 6 airbags, rear-door child-safety locks, power 4-wheel antilock disc brakes with electronic brakeforce distribution, a tire pressure monitoring system, SOS post-crash alert, a rear-view camera, and reverse sensing. Available features include blind-spot information, cross-traffic alert, forward sensing, and an integrated trailer brake controller.

One caveat to keep in mind is that the rollover rating is weaker on RWD versions, so drivetrain choice matters if safety is a top priority.

Should I buy a 2015 Ford Expedition or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2015 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2015 if:

• 32.7% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• At 63.2% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 7.08% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.5/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.
• Expert or safety highlight specific to this year from the review: Ford replaces the V8 with a more fuel-efficient EcoBoost V6 while keeping the Expedition’s large-SUV capability intact.

The bottom line: The 2015 Expedition makes sense if you want a big, traditional SUV with a meaningful mechanical update and a softer used-market price. If you’re shopping on a tighter budget, the lower prices and decent deal share make this year especially worth a look; if you want newer tech or a fresher design, a later model year may be the better path.
