Used 2015 Ford Expedition for Sale nearLouisville, KY

How much does the 2015 Ford Expedition cost?

Prices have softened 7.37% compared to this time last year, making it a favorable time to shop this model year.

There are 586 listings available, which gives you a solid pool of options to compare by trim, mileage, and condition.

Is the 2015 Ford Expedition a good car?

Yes — it earns a 4.5/5 user rating and an 8.2/10 expert rating. The 2015 Expedition stands out as a full-size SUV with a familiar, established feel, and the big story for this year is the switch to a more fuel-efficient EcoBoost V6. It keeps the roomy, three-row layout and the kind of utility that makes sense if you need to carry people and cargo in a large SUV.

The model scores 9/10 across Performance, Technology, and Safety.

That combination makes it a strong fit if you want a large SUV that emphasizes space, towing, and everyday usability more than flashy redesigns. 31.4% of listings are priced as good or great deals, which gives you some room to shop selectively.

Is the 2015 Ford Expedition reliable?

Owners rate it 4.5/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

The 2015 Expedition’s reliability story is tied to its established platform and its straightforward mechanical update for the year. Ford’s move to the EcoBoost V6 gives you a more modern powertrain direction, and the expert evaluation describes the SUV as a well-developed, familiar design rather than a risky first-year redesign. The performance notes also point to strong highway power and a transmission that chooses gears well, which supports confidence in day-to-day use.

Ford also includes a warranty package with 3 years/36,000 miles bumper-to-bumper coverage, 5 years/60,000 miles for the safety-restraint system, 5 years/unlimited miles against corrosion, and 5 years/60,000 miles of roadside assistance. For used buyers, the main long-term ownership risk is the usual one for a large SUV: higher operating costs if you drive a lot and need frequent fuel stops.

What should I look for when buying a used 2015 Ford Expedition?

At 63% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.

You should start with a vehicle history report and then prioritize a careful inspection of body panels, alignment, and signs of prior repair work. Because this is a large, family-focused SUV, you should also pay close attention to how the interior, cargo area, and seating surfaces have held up. If you’re comparing multiple listings, condition matters as much as mileage here.

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The XLT is the base trim and comes with manual air conditioning, rear auxiliary climate control, power windows and door locks, a rear-view camera, a reverse-sensing system, and a 4.2-inch infotainment display. Higher trims add more comfort and convenience, with the Limited bringing standard heated and cooled front seats, dual-zone climate control, remote start, and an 8-inch touchscreen, while the Platinum makes most premium features standard.
• Powertrain: Every trim uses the 3.5-liter EcoBoost V6 with 365 hp and 420 lb-ft of torque paired with a 6-speed SelectShift automatic transmission. The performance notes say the SUV has no trouble with power, and fuel economy is improved over last year, though it is still a large vehicle that will visit the pump often.
• Safety package: Standard safety equipment includes 6 airbags, rear-door child-safety locks, power 4-wheel antilock disc brakes with electronic brakeforce distribution, a tire pressure monitoring system, SOS post-crash alert system, AdvanceTrac with Roll Stability Control on RWD versions, a rear-view camera, and reverse sensing. Blind-spot information with cross-traffic alert, forward sensing, and an integrated trailer brake controller are available or included on higher trims.
• Infotainment: The XLT uses Sync with MyFord Voice with a 4.2-inch screen, AM/FM/SiriusXM satellite radio, a single-disc CD player, USB port, AppLink, and 911 Assist. Higher trims get Sync with MyFord Touch with an 8-inch touchscreen, two 4.2-inch instrument-cluster screens, a second USB port, and optional navigation.
• Fuel efficiency: The Expedition is EPA rated at 15 mpg city/20 highway/17 combined, and the expert test drive notes an average of 16.8 mpg during testing.

Which 2015 Ford Expedition trim should I buy?

The 2015 Ford Expedition is offered in 8 trim levels: XLT, XLT EL, XLT Premium, Limited, Limited EL, King Ranch, King Ranch EL, Platinum, Platinum EL.

Here's the short version:

• XLT: This is the entry point, and it gives you the core Expedition experience with the EcoBoost V6, seating for eight, a rear-view camera, reverse sensing, and the basic Sync with MyFord Voice system. It makes sense if you want the lowest-cost way into the lineup and can live without the richer tech and comfort upgrades.
• XLT EL: Choose this if you want the XLT formula with the longer wheelbase for more space. It keeps the same basic equipment, so it is mainly about room rather than added luxury.
• XLT Premium: This is the better-value step up if you want more comfort without jumping all the way to the luxury trims. It adds dual-zone automatic climate control, a premium audio system, a leather-wrapped shift knob, and woodgrain trim accents.
• Limited: This is the trim that most shoppers should focus on first. It turns many options into standard equipment, including heated and cooled front seats, HD Radio, a power liftgate, second-row heated outboard seats, remote start, and the upgraded Sync with MyFord Touch system.
• Limited EL: Pick this if you want the Limited’s equipment with the longer wheelbase. It is the same idea as the standard Limited, just with more space.
• King Ranch: This is the style-and-luxury choice, with Mesa Brown leather, King Ranch badging, power deployable running boards, a power moonroof, and distinctive interior trim. It suits you best if you want the most character-rich version of the Expedition.
• King Ranch EL: Choose this if you want the King Ranch treatment plus the longer wheelbase.
• Platinum: This is the top-end choice, and it makes nearly every available feature standard. It is the right pick if you want the most fully equipped Expedition and do not mind paying for it.
• Platinum EL: This is the most spacious and most upscale version of the lineup, combining the Platinum equipment set with the longer wheelbase.

The safety package is strong across the lineup, but rollover ratings vary by drivetrain, so it is worth checking the specific configuration you are considering.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2015 Ford Expedition?

This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can shop carefully and still find worthwhile listings.

• Deal availability: 31.4% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 586 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 7.37% compared with last year.
• Clean inventory: 63.0% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $11,260, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2015 Ford Expedition's resale value?

The current average of $11,369 sits slightly below last year's $12,274.

That decline suggests the market has already adjusted downward, which can help you as a buyer today but may limit upside if you plan to resell soon. If you buy at the right price and keep the vehicle in strong condition, you can reduce the impact of that softer market. The Expedition’s broad appeal as a large family SUV still gives it a practical audience on the used market.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.5/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Is the 2015 Ford Expedition safe?

The 2015 Ford Expedition earns five-star overall ratings from NHTSA, with five-star frontal and side crash ratings, while rollover ratings vary by drivetrain: four-star for 4WD models and three-star for RWD versions.

It earns a 9/10 safety score from our experts.

Ford equips the Expedition with a broad safety suite that includes 6 airbags, rear-door child-safety locks, power 4-wheel antilock disc brakes with electronic brakeforce distribution, a tire pressure monitoring system, SOS post-crash alert, a rear-view camera, reverse sensing, and AdvanceTrac with Roll Stability Control on RWD versions. Blind-spot information with cross-traffic alert, forward sensing, and an integrated trailer brake controller are also available.

The main caveat is the drivetrain-dependent rollover result, so if safety is a top priority, you should pay close attention to whether the listing is RWD or 4WD.

Should I buy a 2015 Ford Expedition or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2015 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2015 if:

• 31.4% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• At 63% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 7.37% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.5/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.
• The big story this year is the switch to a more fuel-efficient EcoBoost V6, which makes the 2015 a notable mechanical update.

The bottom line: If you want the year with the meaningful powertrain update and a softer used-market price, the 2015 is the smart path. If your priority is simply finding the cleanest, best-priced Expedition available, you should compare nearby years and focus on condition, accident history, and trim rather than the badge year alone.
