How much does the 2015 Ford Escape cost?

Prices have softened 6.32% compared to this time last year, making it a favorable time to shop this model year.

There are 2,164 listings available, which suggests you should have a reasonable amount of inventory to compare.

Is the 2015 Ford Escape a good car?

Generally — the 2015 Ford Escape earns a 4.36/5 user rating and a 7.67/10 expert rating. The standout strength is Performance at 9/10.

Owners consistently praise its value for money, performance, power, and functionality, and many like the Titanium model’s features. The Escape also fits buyers who want a family crossover that is easy to live with, fuel-conscious, and more upscale than a basic commuter. That mix of everyday practicality and a polished driving feel is a big part of its appeal.

30.0% of listings are priced as good or great deals, so there are still some attractive opportunities if you shop carefully.

Is the 2015 Ford Escape reliable?

Owners rate it 4.36/5, a solid signal of long-term satisfaction.

User feedback points to a vehicle that many owners found dependable enough to recommend, with praise for value, performance, and functionality. The expert evaluation also describes the Escape as solid on the road and confident in everyday driving, which supports the sense that it’s built to be lived with over time. Ford also notes that future upgrades can be implemented through software updates, which helps the tech stay current.

For used buyers, the main long-term ownership risk is that some examples may have been affected by reliability concerns, so condition and maintenance history matter.

What should I look for when buying a used 2015 Ford Escape?

At 64% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.

You should start with a vehicle history report and confirm whether any prior damage was repaired properly. A pre-purchase inspection is especially important on this model because condition can vary a lot from one listing to the next. Pay close attention to how the tech, interior storage, and overall wear line up with the seller’s description.

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The S trim is the most basic version, with manual cloth seats, air conditioning, a 6-speaker audio system, and a manual liftgate. The SE and Titanium add more equipment, and the Titanium brings full leather-trimmed seats with heated, power-adjustable front buckets and a liftgate that opens with a foot gesture.
• Powertrain: The Escape offers a 2.5-liter 4-cylinder, a 1.6-liter EcoBoost 4-cylinder, and a 2.0-liter EcoBoost 4-cylinder. The turbocharged engines are described as delivering strong power over a wide range of engine speeds, and all versions require regular fuel.
• Safety package: Blind-spot monitoring with cross-traffic alerts, a rear-view camera, electronic stability control, and Curve Control are highlighted as key safety technology. Active Park Assist is also available, and the base setup does not include every feature on higher trims.
• Infotainment: MyFordTouch uses a quadrant-style central display and includes Sync for voice control. The system supports Bluetooth, USB, and auxiliary input, and an available 390-watt Sony audio system adds HD Radio and SiriusXM.
• Fuel efficiency: The 2.0-liter EcoBoost with AWD is rated at 21 mpg city and 28 highway, and the model is described as returning around 23.5 mpg combined in real-world use.

Which 2015 Ford Escape trim should I buy?

The 2015 Ford Escape is offered in 3 trim levels: S, SE, and Titanium.

Here's the short version:

• S: This is the simplest way into the Escape, with the 2.5-liter engine, manual cloth seats, air conditioning, a 6-speaker audio system, and a manual liftgate. It makes sense if you want the lowest-cost entry point and can live without the extra convenience and luxury features.
• SE: This is the best-value trim for most shoppers because it adds the 1.6-liter EcoBoost engine and opens the door to the optional 2.0-liter EcoBoost. It gives you a stronger mix of equipment and capability without jumping all the way to the top trim.
• Titanium: This is the one to choose if you want the most upscale Escape, with leather-trimmed seats, heated power front seats, and the foot-activated liftgate. It suits you best if comfort and features matter more than keeping the purchase as lean as possible.

The safety content highlights blind-spot monitoring with cross-traffic alerts, a rear-view camera, electronic stability control, and Curve Control as important safety technology.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2015 Ford Escape?

This is a moderate market for selective buyers, with enough inventory and pricing softness to reward careful shopping.

• Deal availability: 30.0% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 2,164 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 6.32% compared with last year.
• Clean inventory: 64.0% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $8,223, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2015 Ford Escape's resale value?

The current average of $8,223 sits slightly below last year's $8,777.

That softer pricing suggests the Escape has already absorbed some of its near-term depreciation, which can help future sellers if the market stays steady. If you buy well and keep the vehicle in strong condition, you may be better positioned than someone who paid closer to the prior-year average. The current price range also suggests there is still active demand, which matters when it comes time to resell.

Vehicles with solid owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.36/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Is the 2015 Ford Escape safe?

The Ford Escape earns a four-star overall rating from NHTSA, earns five-star ratings for side crash protection from NHTSA, and gets Good ratings from the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety for almost all categories, but it receives a Poor rating in the small overlap frontal collision test.

It earns an 8/10 safety score from our experts.

The safety package includes electronic stability control, a rear-view camera, blind-spot monitoring, cross-traffic alerts, and Curve Control. Those features help strengthen everyday protection and driver awareness. The small overlap result is the main caveat, so you should pay close attention to crash history and repair quality on any used example.

Should I buy a 2015 Ford Escape or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2015 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2015 if:

• 30.0% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• At 64% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 6.32% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.36/5 — a solid satisfaction signal.
• The 2015 Escape combines a polished ride with strong turbocharged performance and upscale available tech.

Consider the 2016 if:

• At $8,943, the 2016 costs more than the current year's $8,223 average.
• It adds Sync 3, a newer infotainment system that improves the tech experience.

The bottom line: Choose the 2015 if you want the lower price and a well-rounded crossover with strong owner approval. Consider the 2016 if you’re willing to pay more for the newer infotainment upgrade and a slightly fresher feel.
