Is the 2015 Chrysler 200 a good car?

The 2015 Chrysler 200 is a well-rounded choice if you want a midsize sedan that feels more polished than average, with a 3.88/5 user rating and an 8.17/10 expert rating.

The standout strength is Technology at 10/10.

Drivers commonly praise its good power, stylish looks, and fuel efficiency, while the overall package also gets credit for strong presentation and family-sedan ambition. 27.4% of listings are priced as good or great deals, so there are still some attractive opportunities if you shop carefully.

Is the 2015 Chrysler 200 reliable?

The 2015 Chrysler 200 is described as a car that should not cost much to own, and the ownership-cost outlook is helped by lower-than-average projected costs and three years or 36,000 miles of free roadside assistance.

User feedback is mixed, though, with some owners calling out reliability concerns, mechanical issues, and a sluggish 4-cylinder engine, while others appreciate the car’s good power and fuel efficiency. The expert notes also point to impressive build quality, which helps balance the picture somewhat.

Chrysler’s performance notes suggest a refined powertrain, but they also mention occasional transmission hesitation and a few driving quirks, so long-term ownership risk is worth weighing carefully on a used example.

What should I look for when buying a used 2015 Chrysler 200?

At 55% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.

You should start with a vehicle-history report and then prioritize a pre-purchase inspection, especially if you’re considering a higher-mileage car or one with a lot of equipment. Focus on body condition, signs of prior repair, and whether the car’s electronics and driver-assistance features work as intended.

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The lineup includes LX, Limited, 200S and 200C. The base LX is the simplest version, while the Limited adds a 5-inch touchscreen, Bluetooth, LED running lights and 17-inch alloy wheels. The 200S brings a firmer suspension, paddle shifters, darkened exterior trim, fog lights, 18-inch wheels and sport seats, while the 200C adds leather, dual-zone climate control, heated front seats, a heated steering wheel, rear-seat vents, remote start and a reversing camera.
• Powertrain: You can choose between an inline 4-cylinder and a V6 engine, with front-wheel drive or all-wheel drive depending on trim. The V6 is described as strong and enthusiastic, while the 4-cylinder is viewed less favorably in owner feedback.
• Safety package: Chrysler’s SafetyTec Package adds adaptive cruise control with stop-and-go, frontal-collision warning, lane-departure warning, lane-keeping assist, blind-spot and cross-traffic detection, rain-sensing wipers, automatic high beams and self-parking. Several of those features are limited to the 200C, while blind-spot monitoring with rear cross-traffic alert is also available on the 200S.
• Infotainment: The available Uconnect Access system uses an 8.4-inch color touchscreen with Bluetooth, text messaging support, navigation, remote access to vehicle features, smartphone integration and mobile Wi-Fi hotspot capability.
• Fuel efficiency: The V6 test car averaged 22 mpg during driving, matching the EPA estimate cited in the review.

Which 2015 Chrysler 200 trim should I buy?

The 2015 Chrysler 200 is offered in 4 trim levels: LX, Limited, 200S and 200C.

Here's the short version:

• LX: This is the entry point, so it makes sense if you want the lowest-cost way into the 200, but it leaves out the nicer convenience and tech upgrades found higher up the range.
• Limited: This is the best-value trim for many shoppers because it adds the 5-inch touchscreen, Bluetooth, LED running lights, 17-inch alloy wheels and broader access to options without jumping all the way to the top model.
• 200S: Choose this if you want a more athletic feel, since it adds a firmer suspension, paddle shifters, sport seats, darker exterior trim, fog lights and 18-inch wheels.
• 200C: This is the most upscale choice, with leather, dual-zone climate control, heated front seats, a heated steering wheel, rear-seat vents, remote start and a reversing camera.

The SafetyTec Package is especially important if you want the most advanced driver-assistance features, since several of those systems are limited to the 200C.

What is the 2015 Chrysler 200's resale value?

The current average of $8,239 sits slightly below last year's $8,535.

That price movement suggests the market has softened, which can help you buy more confidently now if you plan to keep the car for a while. For a future seller, it also means you should expect resale value to depend heavily on condition, mileage, and equipment rather than on broad market momentum alone.

Because the current average is still close to the year-round low, a well-priced example may hold up better than a car bought at the top of the range. If you’re shopping used, that makes condition and deal quality especially important.

Is the 2015 Chrysler 200 safe?

Chrysler’s SafetyTec Package includes adaptive cruise control with stop-and-go, frontal-collision warning, lane-departure warning, lane-keeping assist, blind-spot and cross-traffic detection, rain-sensing wipers, automatic high-beam headlights and self-parking. Several of those features are limited to the 200C, while blind-spot monitoring with rear cross-traffic alert is also available on the 200S.

Should I buy a 2015 Chrysler 200 or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2015 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2015 if:

• 27.4% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• At 55% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 3.47% compared with last year.
• The 2015 stands out for its strong styling, excellent technology score and overall success as a family sedan.

The bottom line: If you want the most polished version of this generation’s design and tech, the 2015 is the one to target. If you’re mainly shopping on price, you can still find value here, but you should be selective and focus on condition, accident history and trim level so you don’t overpay for a car that needs work.
