Is the 2015 Audi A3 a good car?

With a user rating of 3.8/5 and an expert rating of 7.83/10, the 2015 Audi A3 lands in appealing territory for shoppers who want a compact luxury sedan with style and substance.

The standout strength is Technology at 9/10.

Owners most often praise its strong engine performance, stylish design, and excellent value, especially for younger drivers. The A3’s compact luxury-sedan format also fits buyers who want Audi branding and all-wheel-drive appeal without stepping up to a larger car.

Only 33.2% of listings are priced as good or great deals, so the market still rewards careful comparison shopping.

Is the 2015 Audi A3 reliable?

The 2015 Audi A3 is presented as a fun, well-sorted compact luxury car that can be worth the money when you avoid the options list.

Owners describe it as strong on performance and value, and the expert review emphasizes that it’s a “damned fun car” that’s “well worth the money.” The driving notes also point to confident power delivery, precise shifting, and a chassis that handles rough highways without beating you up.

If you’re buying used, the main long-term ownership risk is that a premium car with added complexity can become expensive if prior maintenance was neglected.

What should I look for when buying a used 2015 Audi A3?

At 53.7% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.

You should start with a vehicle-history report and then prioritize a pre-purchase inspection, especially if the car has been modified or heavily optioned. Focus on signs of prior bodywork, wear on interior controls, and whether the car’s equipment still works as intended.

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The test car’s Sport package adds sport seats, Audi Drive Select, and paddle shifters, while the Prestige package adds 18-inch wheels, the S-line exterior, LED lighting, heated seats, auto-dimming mirrors, power-folding mirrors, keyless entry, navigation, Audi Connect, voice control, a touchscreen, Bang & Olufsen audio, blind-spot monitoring, and a rear-view camera. The base setup leaves out much of that equipment, so you should pay close attention to feature gaps.
• Powertrain: The 2.0T quattro S tronic setup uses a 220-hp engine, all-wheel drive, and a 6-speed dual-clutch automated manual transmission. The review notes quick shifts, strong passing response, and confident traction from the Haldex AWD system.
• Safety package: The Technology package adds lane-keeping assist, frontal-collision avoidance, and adaptive cruise control. The standard car already includes blind-spot monitoring on the tested example, but the package adds the most advanced driver-assistance features.
• Infotainment: The A3 uses Audi MMI with navigation, a touchscreen, and a 7-inch display that rises from the dash. Audi Connect turns the car into a mobile WiFi hotspot via AT&T 4G LTE, and the system is described as easy to use and capable of hardware and software upgrades.
• Fuel efficiency: No MPG or MPGe figure is stated in the available data.

Which 2015 Audi A3 trim should I buy?

The 2015 Audi A3 is offered in 1 trim level: 2.0T quattro S tronic.

Here's the short version:

The 2.0T quattro S tronic is the trim described in the test data, and it’s the one that best reflects the A3’s core appeal: strong turbocharged performance, all-wheel drive, and a dual-clutch transmission that makes the car feel quick and polished. It also pairs well with the available Sport package if you want sharper driving manners, while the Prestige package adds most of the luxury and tech content. If you want the best-value path, this is the trim to target, then shop carefully for the right option mix.

The safety package note to keep in mind is that the Technology package adds lane-keeping assist, frontal-collision avoidance, and adaptive cruise control.

• Inventory: There are 482 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 12.03% compared with last year.

What is the 2015 Audi A3's resale value?

The tested car also includes blind-spot monitoring, and the Technology package adds lane-keeping assist, pre-sense front braking, and adaptive cruise control. Rear side airbags can be added as well.

Should I buy a 2015 Audi A3 or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2015 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2015 if:

• 33.2% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• At 53.7% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 12.03% compared with last year.
• The 2015 stands out for its strong engine performance, stylish design, and excellent value.

Consider the 2016 if:

• At $11,009, the 2016 costs more than the current year's $9,777 average.
• It adds newly standard reversing camera, parking sensors, and heated washers and mirrors.

The bottom line: If you want the lower entry price and are comfortable shopping carefully, the 2015 is the better value play. If you’d rather pay more for extra standard convenience features and a slightly more complete package, the 2016 is the cleaner choice.
