overall

Summary
With 1,399 currently listed for sale and an average price of $11,967.00, 27.9% of 2014 Toyota Camrys for sale on CarGurus are rated as good or great deals.
Favorably reviewed: Owners rated the 2014 Toyota Camry 4.4 / 5 stars and CarGurus experts gave it a 7.5 / 10.

Why it stands out
The 2014 Toyota Camry stands out as a straightforward, sensible midsize family sedan that emphasizes affordable, safe transportation over flash. It is described as the peak of the bell curve for midsize family sedans, with nothing wrong with it but also nothing especially inspirational, which neatly captures its appeal: it aims to do the basics well rather than chase excitement.
One notable distinction is that a 2014.5 model built after December of 2013 is the version rated a Top Safety Pick by the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety. That makes this Camry especially appealing to buyers who prioritize safety alongside everyday practicality. Owner feedback also points to reliability, comfort, fuel efficiency, a spacious trunk, and a smooth ride, while some drivers wished for a backup camera. Taken together, the 2014 Toyota Camry comes across as a dependable, value-focused choice for commuting and traveling.

Test drove one and its comfortable as the Ford Fusion, has the leg space for taller folks in the rear. The trunk space is adequate enough to fit 4 large duffel bags flat + 1 on top of those so if youre planning a trip and have a lot of goodies, you dont need a roof rack to transfer them ( unless you have something more than 4 ft, like fishing rods or tripods etc ). Ride is good and absorbs bumps well. The cars roll isnt hard when turning at speed and it can do 15 to 55 in a great amount of time when you need to accelerate going onto the highway. I would say if youre looking for used, at a great price, dont hesitate to purchase one! Test drive it first a few times to get a feel. And if it fits like a glove, I say go for it!

I enjoy the comfort and feel of the vehicle. Nice tint to keep the inside slightly cooler. Ample trunk space for packing and traveling

How much does the 2014 Toyota Camry cost?
| Metric | Value |
|---|---|
| Current Average Price | $12,037 |
| Year-Round Low | $11,385.55 |
| Year-Round High | $12,023.01 |
| Average Price a Year Ago | $11,960 |
| Change vs. Last Year | +0.64% |
Prices have held steady compared to this time last year, signaling a stable and predictable market for this model year.
There are 1,429 listings available, which suggests you have a workable amount of inventory to compare. If you find a listing below $11,385.55, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.
Is the 2014 Toyota Camry a good car?
Generally — the 2014 Toyota Camry earns 4.4/5 from owners and 7.5/10 from our experts. The standout strength is Cost effectiveness at 10/10.
Owners consistently praise its reliability, comfort, fuel efficiency, spacious trunk, and smooth ride. That lines up with the Camry’s role as a straightforward midsize family sedan that focuses on affordable, safe transportation rather than flash. For you, that means it fits best if you want a practical commuter or travel car that does the basics well. 29.1% of listings are priced as good or great deals, which gives you some room to shop selectively.
Is the 2014 Toyota Camry reliable?
Owners rate it 4.4/5, a solid signal of long-term satisfaction.
Owner feedback repeatedly points to reliability, dependability, and value for money, with many drivers describing the car as a dependable choice for commuting and traveling. The expert evaluation also emphasizes quality, dependability, and reliability, and notes that the Camry is inexpensive to own and operate. It also includes free scheduled maintenance for the first two years or 25,000 miles of driving.
For used buyers, the main long-term ownership risk is making sure the specific car you choose has been maintained well and hasn’t been worn down by prior use.
What should I look for when buying a used 2014 Toyota Camry?
At 45.7% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.
You should start with a vehicle history report and then prioritize a pre-purchase inspection, especially if the car has had bodywork or shows uneven wear. Focus on condition, maintenance records, and whether the car’s equipment matches the trim you’re considering. If you’re shopping for a family sedan, the details matter more than the badge on the trunk.
Key things to evaluate:
- Trim level: The Camry lineup includes the L, LE, XLE, and SE. The L is the most stripped-down version, while the LE adds a fancier grille, automatic headlights, and remote keyless entry. The XLE adds fog lights, extra chrome trim, 17-inch aluminum wheels, a leather-wrapped steering wheel, heated outside mirrors, dual-zone automatic climate control, and Entune Audio Plus. The SE adds a sport suspension, structural bracing, paddle shifters, unique 17-inch wheels, a body kit, a rear spoiler, sport fabric seats with leatherette bolsters, and a sport steering wheel.
- Powertrain: The Camry SE is offered with a 178-horsepower, 2.5-liter 4-cylinder engine that the EPA says should return 28 mpg in combined driving. An optional 3.5-liter V6 is also available, with 25 mpg in combined driving and much stronger acceleration.
- Safety package: Blind-Spot Monitor and Rear Cross-Traffic Alert are available on the SE, XLE, and XLE Hybrid. Safety Connect is available only on the XLE and Hybrid XLE, and it includes Roadside Assistance, SOS Emergency Assistance, Automatic Collision Notification, and a Stolen-Vehicle Locator.
- Infotainment: Entune is the main touchscreen system, and the LE and XLE can be equipped with Entune Audio Plus. The content does not specify wireless smartphone integration or over-the-air capability.
- Fuel efficiency: The 4-cylinder SE is rated at 28 mpg combined, the V6 at 25 mpg combined, and the Camry Hybrid is rated at about 40 mpg combined.
Which 2014 Toyota Camry trim should I buy?
The 2014 Toyota Camry is offered in 4 trim levels: L, LE, XLE, SE.
Here's the short version:
- L: This is the simplest Camry, and it makes sense if you want the lowest-frills path into the model. It is the most basic version, with dealers handling the only upgrades mentioned.
- LE: This is the best-value trim for most shoppers because it adds the features many buyers actually want, including a fancier grille, automatic headlights, and remote keyless entry, with available upgrades like an 8-way power driver’s seat, Entune Audio Plus, and a power sunroof.
- XLE: Choose this if you want the more upscale feel. It adds fog lights, extra chrome trim, 17-inch aluminum wheels, a leather-wrapped steering wheel, heated outside mirrors, dual-zone automatic climate control, and Entune Audio Plus.
- SE: Pick this if you want the sportier setup. It adds a sport suspension, structural bracing, paddle shifters, unique wheels, a body kit, a rear spoiler, and sport seats, but the ride is firmer than other trims.
Safety Connect is available only on the XLE, and Blind-Spot Monitor plus Rear Cross-Traffic Alert are available on the SE, XLE, and XLE Hybrid.
Is now a good time to buy a used 2014 Toyota Camry?
This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can shop with some leverage if you’re patient.
- Deal availability: 29.1% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
- Inventory: There are 1,429 listings available.
- Price trend: Prices have held steady compared with last year.
- Clean inventory: 45.7% of listings are accident-free.
If you find a listing below $11,385.55, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.
What is the 2014 Toyota Camry's resale value?
The current average of $12,037 sits slightly above last year's $11,960.
That kind of stability suggests the Camry is holding its market position rather than sliding sharply. For you as a future seller, that usually means less downside risk if you keep the car in good condition and maintain it properly. It also helps that the model has a reputation for value, reliability, and low ownership costs, which supports buyer interest over time.
Vehicles with solid owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.4/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.
Is the 2014 Toyota Camry safe?
It earns a Top Safety Pick rating from IIHS and a five-star overall rating from NHTSA.
It earns a 8/10 safety score from our experts.
Toyota’s Safety Connect telematics system is available only on the XLE and Hybrid XLE, and it includes Roadside Assistance, SOS Emergency Assistance, Automatic Collision Notification, and a Stolen-Vehicle Locator. Blind-Spot Monitor and Rear Cross-Traffic Alert are available on the SE, XLE, and XLE Hybrid.
One important caveat is that the 2014.5 model built after December 2013 is the version with the stronger IIHS result; earlier builds were rated Poor in the small overlap frontal-impact test.
Should I buy a 2014 Toyota Camry or consider a different year?
If you're weighing the 2014 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:
Choose the 2014 if:
- 29.1% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
- At 45.7% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.
- Price trend: Prices have held steady compared with last year.
- Owners rate it 4.4/5 — a solid satisfaction signal.
- The 2014.5 build after December 2013 adds the stronger IIHS safety result.
Consider the 2015 if:
- At $13,076, the 2015 costs more than the current year's $12,037 average.
- It brings new styling, an upgraded interior, and expanded infotainment and safety technologies.
The bottom line: If you want the better value play, the 2014 is the smarter starting point because pricing is steadier and inventory is broad enough to shop carefully. If you’re willing to pay more for fresher styling and a more modern-feeling cabin, the 2015 is the better alternative.
