What should I look for when buying a used 2014 Tesla Model S?

Accident-free inventory is solid at 75.2% — always verify the vehicle history report.

You should prioritize a pre-purchase inspection that focuses on overall condition, especially since build quality concerns can matter more on a used example than on a new one. Check the history report carefully, then pay close attention to signs of prior damage, uneven wear, or anything that suggests the car has been repaired poorly. Because service access and pricing can be a concern, it also makes sense to confirm that the car has a clear maintenance history before you commit.

That small decline suggests the market has been fairly stable, which can help you estimate future value with more confidence. If you buy at a fair price and keep the car in strong condition, you may be better positioned to limit depreciation when it is time to sell. The steady pricing also suggests that demand has not weakened sharply, which is helpful if you plan to resell within a few years.

Vehicles with solid owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.2/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Should I buy a 2014 Tesla Model S or consider a different year?

• Accident-free inventory is solid at 75.2% — always verify the vehicle history report.
