Is the 2014 RAM 2500 reliable?

Owners rate it 4.5/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

The owner feedback highlights a truck that feels durable, dependable, and strong enough for both work and daily use. Praise for the powerful engine, towing ability, and overall durability suggests you can count on it for long-term ownership if the truck has been maintained well. For used buyers, the main risk is less about the model’s core toughness and more about finding one with a clean history and solid upkeep.

What should I look for when buying a used 2014 RAM 2500?

At 64.8% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.

You should start with a vehicle history report so you can separate clean examples from trucks with prior damage. Put inspection priority on body condition, frame integrity, and signs of hard use, since heavy-duty trucks often see demanding work. It also makes sense to focus on how the truck drives and whether the cabin features and controls still work properly, especially if you want one that feels refined rather than purely utilitarian.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2014 RAM 2500?

This is a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can shop patiently and still find worthwhile options.

• Deal availability: 29.3% of listings are priced as good or great deals.

What is the 2014 RAM 2500's resale value?

The current average of $24,702 sits slightly below last year's $26,117.

That price movement suggests the market has cooled a bit, which can help you buy at a more favorable entry point today. If you plan to resell later, the current softness means your future value will depend heavily on mileage, condition, and maintenance history. Trucks with cleaner histories and stronger presentation should hold up better when it is time to sell.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.5/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Should I buy a 2014 RAM 2500 or consider a different year?
