Used 2014 Nissan Sentra for Sale nearMiami, FL

How much does the 2014 Nissan Sentra cost?

Prices have softened 6.30% compared to this time last year, making it a favorable time to shop this model year.

There are 621 listings available, which gives you a decent amount of inventory to compare.

Is the 2014 Nissan Sentra a good car?

Generally — the 2014 Nissan Sentra earns a 4.3/5 user rating and a 6/10 expert rating, which points to a car that does its core job well without standing out. The model scores 8/10 across Form and function and Technology.

That lines up with the Sentra’s main strengths: it is roomy and comfortable for a compact car, and it is also described as relatively fuel-efficient and practical for everyday use. At the same time, the expert review makes clear that it does not bring much personality or driving excitement, so you should view it as a sensible commuter rather than a standout all-rounder.

26.2% of listings are priced as good or great deals, so there is some room to shop selectively.

Is the 2014 Nissan Sentra reliable?

Owners rate it 4.3/5, a solid signal of long-term satisfaction.

The Sentra is presented as a practical, easygoing compact car with a roomy cabin and a relatively fuel-efficient powertrain, which supports the case for straightforward day-to-day ownership. The expert review also describes the drivetrain as quiet around town and on the highway, and notes that the CVT is designed to reduce engine revs and limit the usual drone.

The review also points to average quality and reliability expectations, so you should treat this as a car where condition matters more than reputation alone. For used buyers, the biggest long-term ownership risk is ending up with a neglected example that compounds an already modest ownership proposition.

What should I look for when buying a used 2014 Nissan Sentra?

At 53.8% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.

You should start with a vehicle history report and then prioritize a pre-purchase inspection, especially if the car has been in a collision or has incomplete service records. Focus on overall condition, because the Sentra’s appeal is mainly practical: you want the roomy cabin, comfort, and fuel economy to be intact, not offset by hidden repair needs.

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: Nissan offers the 2014 Sentra in basic S, popular SV, sporty SR and upscale SL trims. The base S is the most stripped-down version, and it is the one excluded from some convenience and tech upgrades.
• Powertrain: Every version uses a 1.8-liter 4-cylinder engine with 130 horsepower and 128 lb-ft of torque. The basic S trim can be had with a 6-speed manual, while the other versions use a CVT that is tuned to maximize fuel economy.
• Safety package: The Sentra’s safety content includes a rearview camera in the Navigation Package, and the Easy Fill Tire Alert system is standard on SL and optional on SR. The rear disc brakes are tied to the Driver Package for SR or the Leather Package for SL.
• Infotainment: The screen measures 5.8 inches. Bluetooth and a USB port require the SL trim or a package, and NissanConnect features voice recognition, Bluetooth streaming audio, satellite radio, Internet radio, and app-based services.
• Fuel efficiency: The EPA estimates 30 mpg city, 39 mpg highway, and 34 mpg combined. The FE+ package raises highway mileage to 40 mpg.

Which 2014 Nissan Sentra trim should I buy?

The 2014 Nissan Sentra is offered in 4 trim levels: S, SV, SR and SL.

Here's the short version:

• S: This is the most basic way into the Sentra, and it is the only trim with a 6-speed manual. Choose it if you want the lowest-frills version and do not mind giving up the convenience and tech upgrades found higher up.
• SV: This is the best-value trim for many shoppers because it adds a more complete everyday experience without jumping all the way to the top of the range. It can also be paired with the FE+ package for a highway-mpg bump.
• SR: This trim adds a sportier look and can be paired with the Driver Package, which brings rear disc brakes. It also can get the Premium Package and Navigation Package, so it is the better choice if you want more equipment without going straight to SL.
• SL: This is the most upscale version and the one to buy if you want the most features. It gets Bluetooth and a USB port standard, along with Easy Fill Tire Alert, and it is the trim that best fits buyers who want the Sentra’s comfort and convenience story fully realized.

The safety-package note to keep in mind is that rear disc brakes are not universal; they are tied to the Driver Package on SR or the Leather Package on SL.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2014 Nissan Sentra?

This is a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can shop with some leverage if you are patient and focused.

• Deal availability: 26.2% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 621 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 6.30% compared with last year.
• Clean inventory: 53.8% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $6,716, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2014 Nissan Sentra's resale value?

The current average of $6,734 sits slightly below last year's $7,186.

That decline suggests the Sentra is still a value-oriented used buy, but it also means future sellers should expect a market that rewards clean condition and strong documentation more than brand appeal alone. Because the model is practical rather than especially desirable, resale performance will likely depend on how well the car has been maintained and how competitively it is priced when you sell.

Vehicles with solid owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.3/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Is the 2014 Nissan Sentra safe?

The 2014 Nissan Sentra earns a four-star overall rating from NHTSA, and the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety gives it a Good rating in all assessments except the small overlap frontal-impact test, where it receives a Poor rating.

It earns a 6/10 safety score from our experts.

The Sentra’s safety equipment includes a reversing camera in the Navigation Package, and Nissan’s Easy Fill Tire Alert system is standard on SL and optional on SR. The review also notes that rear disc brakes are not standard across the lineup, since they are tied to the Driver Package on SR or the Leather Package on SL.

That poor small-overlap result is the main caution for used buyers, especially if you are shopping for family duty. You should pay close attention to crash history and repair quality, because the safety picture is mixed rather than class-leading.

Should I buy a 2014 Nissan Sentra or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2014 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2014 if:

• 26.2% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• At 53.8% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 6.30% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.3/5 — a solid satisfaction signal.
• It is a roomy and relatively fuel-efficient compact car that prioritizes comfort and practicality over excitement.

The bottom line: If you want the Sentra’s roomy cabin, comfort, and efficiency at a lower used-car price, the 2014 is a reasonable place to shop. If you are especially price-sensitive, you can still find value here, but you should be selective about condition and accident history because the car’s strengths are practical rather than emotional.

How does the 2014 Nissan Sentra compare to the 2014 Honda Civic?

Our experts score the 2014 Nissan Sentra 6/10 and the 2014 Honda Civic 8.2/10.

The Sentra is the cheaper buy by a wide margin, and it offers stronger city fuel economy plus a roomier, comfort-first personality. The Civic asks for more money, but it brings stronger performance, a better expert score, and a more compelling overall package for shoppers who want a more polished compact car. If your priority is value and space, the Sentra makes sense; if you want the better all-around car, the Civic is the stronger choice.
