How much does the 2014 Nissan Maxima cost?

Is the 2014 Nissan Maxima a good car?

Yes — the 2014 Nissan Maxima earns a 4.8/5 user rating, which points to strong owner satisfaction. Owners consistently praise its stylish design, comfortable interior, and impressive power, and many also like the smooth ride and handling. For you, that makes it a compelling choice if you want a used sedan with a premium feel, plenty of features, and a more engaging driving character than many mainstream alternatives. With 20.6% of listings marked as good or great deals, there are still some attractive opportunities in the market.

Is the 2014 Nissan Maxima reliable?

Owners rate it 4.8/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

The owner feedback also points to a car that many drivers find dependable and trouble-free in everyday use, with comfort and power standing out over the long haul. Some owners mention transmission concerns, so you should pay close attention to service history and how the car drives on a test route. For used buyers, the main long-term ownership risk is making sure the specific car you choose has been maintained well and shows no signs of deferred mechanical issues.

What should I look for when buying a used 2014 Nissan Maxima?

At 46.8% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.

You should start with a vehicle history report so you can screen for accidents, title issues, and repeated damage claims. Then prioritize a thorough pre-purchase inspection, with extra attention to the transmission, suspension, and any signs of uneven wear or repair work. Because condition varies meaningfully across listings, focus on maintenance records, test-drive behavior, and bodywork quality before you commit.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2014 Nissan Maxima?

This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can shop patiently and still find value if you compare listings carefully.

• Deal availability: 20.6% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 141 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 5.30% compared with last year.
• Clean inventory: 46.8% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $7,512, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2014 Nissan Maxima's resale value?

The current average of $7,523 sits slightly below last year's $7,944.

That tells you the market has softened, which can work against you if you buy at the wrong price and try to resell soon after. On the other hand, the current pricing also means you may have less depreciation left to absorb than a buyer who purchased when values were higher. If you plan to keep the car for a while, the combination of lower entry cost and steady shopper interest can help offset some resale risk.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.8/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Should I buy a 2014 Nissan Maxima or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2014 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2014 if:

• 20.6% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• At 46.8% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 5.30% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.8/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.

The bottom line: You should lean toward the 2014 if you want a stylish, well-equipped sedan and can verify that the specific car has a clean history and solid maintenance. If your priority is maximizing value, the 2014 can still make sense, but you should be selective and compare condition closely across listings. If you are especially price-sensitive, the best path is to focus on the cleanest, best-documented example rather than simply chasing the lowest sticker price.
