How much does the 2014 Mercedes-Benz S-Class cost?

Prices have softened 8.95% compared to this time last year, making it a favorable time to shop this model year.

There are 683 listings available, which gives you a solid pool of options to compare.

Is the 2014 Mercedes-Benz S-Class a good car?

Yes — the 2014 Mercedes-Benz S-Class earns a 5/5 user rating, which points to very strong owner satisfaction. Owners consistently praise its elegance, luxury, performance, workmanship, and comfort, and the model’s flagship-sedan character makes it especially appealing if you want a car that feels richly finished and deeply substantial. Some owners note that it can be pricey compared with newer models, but the overall feedback is strongly positive. With 30.6% of listings marked as good or great deals, you still have room to shop selectively.

Is the 2014 Mercedes-Benz S-Class reliable?

Owners rate it 5/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

Owner feedback also highlights reliability alongside comfort, workmanship, and luxury, which supports the idea that this model can be a dependable choice when it has been well maintained. The W222 generation is described as having a very good reliability record overall, but used buyers should still plan for the long-term ownership costs that come with a flagship luxury sedan.

What should I look for when buying a used 2014 Mercedes-Benz S-Class?

At 60.5% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.

You should start with a vehicle history report so you can confirm accident history, title status, and ownership patterns before you commit. Then prioritize a thorough pre-purchase inspection, especially on a car with advanced technology and luxury features that can be expensive to sort out later. Focus on overall condition, maintenance records, and how well the car’s high-end equipment has been cared for.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2014 Mercedes-Benz S-Class?

This is a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can shop patiently and still find worthwhile opportunities.

• Deal availability: 30.6% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 683 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 8.95% compared with last year.
• Clean inventory: 60.5% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $20,788, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2014 Mercedes-Benz S-Class's resale value?

The current average of $20,788 sits slightly below last year's $22,831.

That price movement suggests the market has already adjusted downward, which can help you buy more carefully now but may also limit short-term upside if you plan to resell soon. For a future seller, the key is to buy well, maintain the car carefully, and avoid overpaying up front so you have more room to preserve value later. Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 5/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Should I buy a 2014 Mercedes-Benz S-Class or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2014 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2014 if:

• 30.6% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• At 60.5% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 8.95% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 5/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.

The bottom line: You should lean toward the 2014 if you want the W222 S-Class experience at a lower used price and you’re willing to shop carefully for condition and history. If you’re especially price-sensitive, a nearby year may be worth comparing, but the 2014 already offers strong owner satisfaction and a softer market than a year ago.
