How much does the 2014 Mercedes-Benz S-Class cost?

Prices have softened 7.64% compared to this time last year, making it a favorable time to shop this model year.

There are 689 listings available, which gives you a solid pool of options to compare.

Is the 2014 Mercedes-Benz S-Class a good car?

Yes — the 2014 Mercedes-Benz S-Class earns a 5/5 user rating, which points to very strong owner satisfaction. Owners consistently praise its elegance, luxury, and performance, and they also highlight the exceptional workmanship and comfort. That lines up well with its role as a full-size luxury sedan for you if you want a flagship car that feels advanced and deeply upscale. With 31.5% of listings marked as good or great deals, you have some room to shop selectively.

Is the 2014 Mercedes-Benz S-Class reliable?

Owners rate it 5/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

The owner feedback also emphasizes reliability, along with comfort and workmanship, which suggests this S-Class can be a dependable choice when it has been well maintained. Even so, you should expect long-term ownership risk to be tied more to maintenance complexity and repair costs than to basic durability, so a careful pre-purchase inspection matters.

What should I look for when buying a used 2014 Mercedes-Benz S-Class?

At 59.2% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.

You should start with a full vehicle history report so you can separate clean examples from cars with prior damage or repeated claims. Then prioritize a pre-purchase inspection that focuses on suspension, electrical systems, and any signs of expensive deferred maintenance. Because this is a complex luxury sedan, condition and service history matter more than mileage alone.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2014 Mercedes-Benz S-Class?

This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can shop carefully and still find worthwhile opportunities.

• Deal availability: 31.5% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 689 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 7.64% compared with last year.
• Clean inventory: 59.2% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $21,173, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2014 Mercedes-Benz S-Class's resale value?

The current average of $21,209 sits slightly below last year's $22,964.

That price movement suggests the market has softened, which can make resale a little more challenging if you buy at the wrong point in the range. If you plan to sell later, your best protection is to buy well, keep the car in excellent condition, and preserve service records. Strong examples should still attract interest because this model has broad appeal among luxury shoppers.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 5/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Should I buy a 2014 Mercedes-Benz S-Class or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2014 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2014 if:

• 31.5% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• At 59.2% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 7.64% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 5/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.

The bottom line: If you want the strongest value play, the 2014 is appealing because prices have eased and owner satisfaction is excellent. If you are especially price-sensitive, keep a close eye on the lower end of the range and focus on the cleanest, best-documented example you can find. If you want the safest path overall, prioritize condition and history over chasing the cheapest listing.
