How much does the 2014 Mercedes-Benz G-Class cost?

Prices are up 2.38% year-over-year — a sign of continued demand for this model year.

There are 126 listings available, which gives you a modest amount of inventory to compare before you buy.

Is the 2014 Mercedes-Benz G-Class a good car?

The 2014 Mercedes-Benz G-Class blends old-school military hardware with genuine luxury and serious off-road ability. You get the boxy shape and rugged character that made it famous, plus a refreshed cabin with a new dashboard, an iPad-like infotainment screen, internet connectivity, and driver-assist features such as adaptive cruise control, blind spot monitoring, and collision avoidance systems.

That mix makes it appealing if you want a vehicle that feels special every time you see it and still has real four-wheel-drive capability. The tradeoff is that it is expensive to buy and expensive to keep, with poor fuel economy and upkeep that is not cheap.

Market availability: 30.2% of listings are priced as good or great deals.

Is the 2014 Mercedes-Benz G-Class reliable?

The 2014 Mercedes-Benz G-Class is described as a model that later G-Class versions are generally more reliable than earlier ones. Even so, it remains a vehicle with expensive upkeep and poor fuel economy, so ownership can still be costly.

For used buyers, that means long-term risk is less about outright simplicity and more about whether the truck has been maintained carefully enough to avoid expensive repair surprises.

What should I look for when buying a used 2014 Mercedes-Benz G-Class?

At 51.6% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.

You should run a vehicle history report before you commit, then prioritize a pre-purchase inspection that focuses on body condition, signs of prior repair, and overall maintenance quality. Because this model is expensive to keep, you want to pay close attention to how well the vehicle has been cared for, not just how it looks in photos.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2014 Mercedes-Benz G-Class?

This looks like a moderate, selective buyer's market: there is enough inventory to shop carefully, but the best examples still deserve quick attention.

• Deal availability: 30.2% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 126 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices are up 2.38% year-over-year.
• Clean inventory: 51.6% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $50,799, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2014 Mercedes-Benz G-Class's resale value?

The current average of $52,269 sits slightly above last year's $51,052.

That upward move suggests the market has held value reasonably well for this model year. If you buy carefully and keep the truck in strong condition, you should have a better chance of preserving value than if you overpay or ignore maintenance history.

Should I buy a 2014 Mercedes-Benz G-Class or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2014 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2014 if:

• 30.2% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• At 51.6% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.
• Price trend: Prices are up 2.38% year-over-year.

The bottom line: If you want the classic G-Class look and feel with a refreshed cabin and modern convenience features, the 2014 is the right path to focus on. If you are more price-sensitive, a different year may give you more room to shop for a cleaner example or a better deal, so compare carefully before you commit.
