How much does the 2014 Lincoln MKZ cost?

Prices have softened 1.16% compared to this time last year, making it a favorable time to shop this model year.

There are 197 listings available, which gives you a modest amount of inventory to compare before you buy.

Is the 2014 Lincoln MKZ a good car?

Yes — the 2014 Lincoln MKZ earns a 4.8/5 user rating and a 6.8/10 expert rating. The model scores 8/10 across Performance, Technology, and Safety.

Owners consistently praise its reliability, comfort, and upscale feel, along with the spacious interior and trunk. The overview also points to a smooth driving experience and luxurious touches, especially when you want the AWD setup. For you, that means this is a strong fit if you want a premium sedan with comfort and character rather than a plain commuter car.

28.9% of listings are priced as good or great deals, so there is still some room to shop selectively.

Is the 2014 Lincoln MKZ reliable?

Owners rate it 4.8/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

The review summary repeatedly points to reliability, and it also describes the car as comfortable, excellent-featured, and easy to live with over time. The expert notes also say J.D. Power expects it to prove more reliable than the average luxury car, which reinforces the idea that this is a model you can count on if you choose carefully.

Lincoln also says the MKZ can be a good deal to own relative to its segment, though the expert review notes that ownership costs can still run high for a luxury car. For used buyers, the main long-term risk is not basic dependability so much as higher running costs and depreciation.

What should I look for when buying a used 2014 Lincoln MKZ?

At 52.8% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.

You should start with a vehicle-history report and then prioritize a close inspection of body panels, paint consistency, and any signs of prior repair. It also makes sense to focus on how the car drives and whether the electronics, seats, and comfort features work as intended, since this model leans heavily on equipment and refinement. If you are considering a higher-trim example, make sure the added safety and convenience features are actually present and functioning.

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: Standard equipment includes leather, dual-zone climate controls, 10-way power heated front seats, an 8-inch touchscreen display, 18-inch wheels, and an adaptive suspension. The Select Package adds a rear-view camera, parking sensors, and interior lighting, while the Reserve Package adds navigation, a power-operated trunk, ventilated front seats, and blind-spot monitoring with cross-traffic alert. The Preferred Equipment Package adds a heated steering wheel, heated rear seats, and a 14-speaker audio system, and the Technology Package adds adaptive cruise control, collision-warning-and-mitigation, lane-departure warning, and automated parallel parking.
• Powertrain: The MKZ is available with a turbocharged 2.0-liter EcoBoost 4-cylinder, a 3.7-liter V6, or a gas-electric hybrid powertrain. The turbo engine makes 231 hp on regular unleaded and 240 hp on premium, the V6 makes 300 hp, and the hybrid should average 38 mpg. All-wheel drive is available with the turbo and V6 powertrains.
• Safety package: Lincoln’s driver-assistance features are spread across packages rather than bundled into the base car. A reversing camera requires the Select package, while blind-spot monitoring, rear cross-traffic alert, lane-departure warning, and forward-collision warning with active braking require the Reserve package at minimum. Rear seatbelts with inflatable cushioning airbags are also available, but only with the Select package or higher.
• Infotainment: The MKZ uses an 8-inch touchscreen, and the touch-sensitive interface can take time to get used to. The system can also respond slowly at times, and the review specifically calls out delayed input response and occasional pauses.
• Fuel efficiency: The EcoBoost AWD test car was rated at about 22 mpg city, 31 mpg highway, and 25 mpg combined, and the hybrid powertrain should average 38 mpg.

Which 2014 Lincoln MKZ trim should I buy?

The 2014 Lincoln MKZ is offered in 2 trim levels: MKZ and MKZ Hybrid.

Here's the short version:

• MKZ: This is the trim to focus on if you want the core MKZ experience with the standard luxury equipment, the available turbocharged powertrains, and the broadest range of option packages. It is the better starting point for most shoppers because it gives you access to the features that define the car without forcing you into the hybrid setup.
• MKZ Hybrid: Choose this if your priority is efficiency and you want the gas-electric powertrain that should average 38 mpg. It makes the most sense if you value fuel savings over the more energetic feel of the turbocharged versions.

For safety, the reversing camera requires the Select package, and blind-spot monitoring, rear cross-traffic alert, lane-departure warning, and forward-collision warning with active braking require the Reserve package at minimum.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2014 Lincoln MKZ?

This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can shop with some leverage if you are patient.

• Deal availability: 28.9% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 197 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 1.16% compared with last year.
• Clean inventory: 52.8% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $8,541, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2014 Lincoln MKZ's resale value?

The current average of $8,873 sits slightly below last year's $8,977.

That tells you the market has softened a bit, which can help you as a buyer now but may also mean a slower payoff if you plan to resell soon. The year-round range also suggests the model has some price movement, so condition and equipment will matter when it comes time to sell. If you keep the car well maintained and choose a well-equipped example, you should be in a better position to attract future shoppers.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.8/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Is the 2014 Lincoln MKZ safe?

The 2014 Lincoln MKZ earns a Top Safety Pick+ rating from IIHS and a five-star overall rating from NHTSA, though it also earns three-star ratings for driver-side impact protection.

It earns an 8/10 safety score from our experts.

Lincoln’s safety equipment is spread across packages, so you need to pay attention to trim and option content.

The main caveat is that the side-impact result is weaker than the rest of the crash-test picture, so you should pay close attention to the exact equipment on any used example you consider.

Should I buy a 2014 Lincoln MKZ or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2014 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2014 if:

• 28.9% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• At 52.8% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 1.16% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.8/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.
• It stands out as a sporty premium sedan that can be a blast to drive, especially when properly equipped.

The bottom line: If you want a used luxury sedan with strong owner satisfaction, a comfortable cabin, and a more engaging personality than many rivals, the 2014 MKZ is worth a look. If you are shopping mainly on value and want the easiest path to a lower purchase price, you may want to compare it carefully against other years and similar sedans before deciding.

How does the 2014 Lincoln MKZ compare to the 2014 Ford Fusion?

Our experts score the 2014 Lincoln MKZ 6.8/10 and the 2014 Ford Fusion 7.8/10. The MKZ brings a more upscale feel, stronger available equipment, and a more premium personality, while the Fusion is the better value on paper with a lower average used price and more listings to choose from. If you want the more luxurious experience, the MKZ has the edge; if you want a cheaper, more plentiful alternative, the Fusion is the easier buy.
