CarGurus Analysis: 2014 Lexus LS

Summary
With 236 currently listed for sale and an average price of $20,472, 35.2% of 2014 Lexus LS listings on CarGurus are rated as good or great deals.
Favorably reviewed: Owners rated the 2014 Lexus LS 4.62 / 5 stars.

Why it stands out
The 2014 Lexus LS stands out as a full-size luxury sedan that emphasizes quiet comfort, refined performance, and a premium cabin. For this generation, Lexus gave the LS a larger 4.6-liter V8, and the car was described as quicker, more refined, more efficient, and bigger than before. It also offered a long-wheelbase version aimed at buyers who wanted to be driven, along with an available Executive Class Seating Package designed to make the rear seat especially accommodating.
What makes the 2014 model appealing is the way it blends traditional luxury with useful technology and a strong sense of craftsmanship. The cabin featured premium materials, an optional hard-disk-based navigation system, a 450-watt Mark Levinson audio system, adaptive cruise control, and, by this point in the generation, a refreshed interior and exterior with Lexus’ spindle grille and the Remote Touch Interface. Buyers also got driver-selectable drive modes and the LS 460 F Sport was part of the lineup, giving the car a broader range of personalities than many rivals.
There are some drawbacks to keep in mind. The Remote Touch Interface was described as controversial and took time for drivers to get used to, and the technology was already dated by modern standards. Even so, the 2014 Lexus LS remains distinctive for buyers who value a serene ride, a quiet cabin, and the kind of understated luxury that helped define the LS nameplate.

Very pleased with this LS460L, bought it in February 2023, had 60k miles. As of today, March 26, 2024 it has almost 65k miles. Excellent traveling car, quiet, secure feeling and it inspires confidence. I am 71 and this is my favorite car to own. Triple black in color, very stately and elegant. Lots of smiles per gallon.

Love my 2014 LS. I dont like the puck or interface. Not intuitive and some menus dont step back one level, they take you all the way back to the main menu. The car is essentially a 2012 with a transitioning entertainment system. This is my 5th Lexus product. Starting in 2007 this luxary car hasnt changed much and still has the front end bushing issue (Alignment problems) and high pressure fuel pump leak issues. Plan on spending $2-3K on the front end at 60-100K miles. The fuel pumps should make it to 100K. The repair will run you $1-2K for both the left and right pumps. Good news, the sticky dash / door panels have finally been fixed. This was the subject of a recall that now goes back to the 2007 and is good through 03/01/2021.

One of the best values in a luxury automobile. I stopped buying new LS Lexus in 2001, Ive had three used since then a 2005 for seven years that I sold for $3000 less than i paid for it. I now have a 2014 AWD LS 460 that I love. Other than a fussy and overly sensitive infotainment system I have no complaints. The only expense in the first 6,000 miles was a Tire pressure monitor replacement, Lexus gets$100 for the part, you can buy 4 for less than $50 on Amazon.

How much does the 2014 Lexus LS cost?
| Metric | Value |
|---|---|
| Current Average Price | $20,457 |
| Year-Round Low | $18,601 |
| Year-Round High | $21,277 |
| Average Price a Year Ago | $19,378 |
| Change vs. Last Year | +5.57% |
Prices are up 5.57% year-over-year — a sign of continued demand for this model year.
There are 230 listings available, which gives you a useful amount of inventory to compare before you buy.
Is the 2014 Lexus LS a good car?
Yes — the 2014 Lexus LS earns a 4.6/5 user rating, which points to strong owner satisfaction. Drivers consistently praise its luxurious feel, smooth ride, and reliable performance, and many also highlight the quality interior and craftsmanship. In practical terms, that makes it a strong fit if you want a full-size luxury sedan that emphasizes quiet comfort, premium materials, and a refined driving experience. With 32.6% of listings marked as good or great deals, you still have room to shop selectively.
Is the 2014 Lexus LS reliable?
Owners rate it 4.6/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.
User feedback repeatedly describes it as reliable and dependable, with owners calling out its trouble-free feel and long-term appeal. That said, some shoppers mention infotainment frustrations and a few recurring repair concerns, so a careful pre-purchase inspection still matters. For used buyers, the main long-term ownership risk is less about the core character of the car and more about making sure the specific example you choose has been maintained well.
What should I look for when buying a used 2014 Lexus LS?
At 50% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.
You should start with a vehicle history report so you can separate clean examples from cars with prior damage or repeated claims. After that, prioritize a thorough inspection of the suspension, alignment, and any signs of uneven wear, since condition can vary widely from one used luxury sedan to another. It also makes sense to test the infotainment and other electronics carefully, because those systems can affect your day-to-day ownership experience.
Is now a good time to buy a used 2014 Lexus LS?
This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can shop patiently and still find worthwhile options.
- Deal availability: 32.6% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
- Inventory: There are 230 listings available.
- Price trend: Prices are up 5.57% year-over-year.
- Clean inventory: 50.0% of listings are accident-free.
If you find a listing below $18,601, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.
What is the 2014 Lexus LS's resale value?
The current average of $20,457 sits slightly above last year's $19,378.
That upward move suggests the market has been willing to pay a bit more for this model year, which can help support resale confidence if you buy well. The fact that prices are still within a relatively tight year-round band also suggests the car has a fairly defined market position rather than extreme volatility. For a future seller, that usually means condition, mileage, and maintenance history will matter a lot when it comes time to list the car.
Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.6/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.
Should I buy a 2014 Lexus LS or consider a different year?
If you're weighing the 2014 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:
Choose the 2014 if:
- 32.6% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
- At 50% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.
- Price trend: Prices are up 5.57% year-over-year.
- Owners rate it 4.6/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.
The bottom line: If you want the strongest mix of value, comfort, and owner satisfaction, the 2014 is a solid place to start. If you’re especially price-sensitive, it can also make sense to compare nearby years and focus on the cleanest, best-maintained example rather than the newest badge.
