Why it stands out
The 2014 Jeep Wrangler remains an iconic choice for those who prioritize off-road performance and rugged style over everyday comfort. Its distinctive design, which recalls its military origins, is more than just aesthetic—it's functional, allowing the Wrangler to tackle terrains that few vehicles can handle. Offered in both 2-door and 4-door configurations, this SUV caters to a variety of buyer preferences, with a powerful V6 engine producing 285 horsepower and standard 4-wheel drive. Reviews highlight its exhilarating off-road capability, particularly in models equipped with advanced features like locking differentials and the Rock-Trac transfer case in the Rubicon variants. However, it's important to note that the Wrangler's design means compromises in driving comfort and fuel economy, with an average of 18 mpg in combined driving. This vehicle excels for adventurers but may leave daily commuters wanting more in terms of ride quality and gas mileage.

I am totally impressed with the Jeep Wrangler Sahara Unlimited. It is more than I expected. The vehicle has a very new feeling and seems showroom fresh. The leather is still great smelling and looks new. The Jeep is easy to see out of, despite being a four door. The driving feels strong and stable and the visibility in all directions is easy. The controls are within easy reach and it has a great many cup holders and plug ins for electronics. This was a great purchase. I specifically wanted a Wrangler and I am very pleased. There are no disappointments.

This is the most fun vehicle I've ever driven. It has plenty of power to get around and enough to be fun off-road, but it is by no means fast. It takes a while to unzip the windows and put the top down, but it gets easier and quicker the more you do it. It brings a smile to my face every time I drive it. Off-roading with a 2" lift and 35" Goodyear Wrangler Duratrac tires, it was able to conquer most obstacles with ease. Modifications so far include Superlift 2" spacer lift, JKS adjustable track bars, Magnaflow exhaust, 315/75-16 Goodyear Wrangler Duratrac tires, 16" Level8 wheels, Body Armor 4x4 side bars, Rugged Ridge tail lamp guards, and carpet removed and floor sprayed with truck bed liner.

Reviewed a 2014 Jeep Unlimited Rubicon 4WD on Feb 16, 2014
I just bought the Rubicon Unlimited manual transmission. With the hard top. This is my second Jeep the first one being a 1987 Wrangler. This Jeep is much more comfortable and more capable then the 87 ever was. To me the ride is fantastic but then again I've been driving a 1993 Dodge W250 with the Cummins diesel and should be wearing a kidney belt. So far I've been averaging 17.9 mpg whereas my truck gets 12 mpg and regular gas is much cheaper than diesel fuel. I realy like the power of the new 3.6 over the old 3.8. At 6' 285 lbs the seat is a little snug but still comfortable, even after a couple of hours. I'm just thankful that I don't have to sit behind me in the back seat as that would be unbearable. I got the Uconnect 130 which doesn't have the gps navigation and that's ok since I use my phone for that. It has the Blue-tooth and SiriusXM and that I do use. I find the interior to be very quite, again I have been driving an old Pickup. This Jeep is exactly what I was looking for. I still have my truck but now I can load up my camper pull the Jeep behind me and have even more fun. Then drive it to work when I don't want to ride my bike. I give it a 9 overall with room for future upgrades. 2/21/2014 After 300 miles I have averaged 15.8 mpg. That's mostly city driving. For the short while that I was on the freeway I averaged 18.7 mpg. I'll post more later as the engine gets a more miles on it.

I like the performance of the jeep and the fact that it can be turned into an off road vehicle at anytime by removing the doors, top and the windshield. The truck also handles very good on the highway and I'm sure that it does on off roads as well.
