How much does the 2014 Honda Accord cost?

Prices have softened 1.24% compared to this time last year, making it a favorable time to shop this model year.

There are 1,959 listings available, which gives you a solid pool of options to compare.

Is the 2014 Honda Accord a good car?

Yes — the 2014 Honda Accord earns a 4.94/5 user rating, and our experts give it a 9.17/10 rating. The model scores 10/10 across Look and feel and Performance.

Owners consistently praise its reliability, fuel efficiency, performance, smooth ride, safety features, and comfortable interior. In practical terms, that makes it a strong fit if you want a polished midsize sedan that feels more upscale than its price suggests.

The overview also points to broad appeal as a well-executed, value-focused sedan, though some shoppers may want to weigh the CVT and audio-system complaints against the positives. With 29.8% of listings marked as good or great deals, there’s still room to find a compelling example.

Is the 2014 Honda Accord reliable?

Owners rate it 4.94/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

Owners repeatedly describe it as reliable, and the review summary also highlights its trouble-free reputation, fuel efficiency, and overall value. The expert notes reinforce that dependability, pointing to long-term dependability and reliability as strengths.

The cost-effectiveness commentary adds that the Accord is expected to be better than average for long-term dependability and reliability. For used buyers, the main ownership risk is making sure a high-mileage example has been maintained well, especially if you’re considering one with a CVT.

What should I look for when buying a used 2014 Honda Accord?

At 48.7% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.

You should start with a vehicle-history report and then prioritize a pre-purchase inspection, especially if the car has been in a collision or has higher mileage. Focus on bodywork quality, signs of uneven wear, and whether the car drives as smoothly as it should.

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The LX is the simplest starting point, while the Sport adds 18-inch wheels, more aggressive tires, fog lights, a rear lip spoiler, a chrome exhaust finisher, and a 10-way power driver’s seat. The EX adds 17-inch aluminum wheels, a better sound system, LaneWatch blind-spot monitoring, SmartEntry with push-button start, and a power sunroof.
• Powertrain: Most models use a 185-horsepower 2.4-liter 4-cylinder with a CVT, while LX, Sport, and EX trims also offer a 6-speed manual. The Sport version raises output to 189 hp, and the EX-L can be optioned with a 278-horsepower 3.5-liter V6 paired with a 6-speed automatic.
• Safety package: The Accord includes SmartVent side impact airbags, a reversing camera, and ACE II body structure as standard. LaneWatch appears on the EX, while Forward Collision Warning and Lane Departure Warning are included on EX-L and Touring trims.
• Infotainment: The LX and Sport cover the basics with Bluetooth, music streaming, and text-message support. The EX-L adds a premium sound system with a touchscreen display, satellite radio, and HondaLink connected services, while navigation is available only as an EX-L option.
• Fuel efficiency: The 4-cylinder models return 24 mpg city to 36 mpg highway depending on transmission choice, while the V6 is rated at 21/34 mpg. The Sport test car returned 27.9 mpg in mixed driving.

Which 2014 Honda Accord trim should I buy?

The 2014 Honda Accord is offered in 5 trim levels: LX, Sport, EX, EX-L, Touring.

Here's the short version:

• LX: This is the value-first choice if you want the Accord’s core strengths without paying for extras. It gives you the essentials and keeps the price down, making it the best fit if you care most about affordability and straightforward ownership.
• Sport: This trim is the best-value pick if you want a more aggressive look and a few meaningful upgrades, including 18-inch wheels, fog lights, a rear lip spoiler, and a 10-way power driver’s seat. It suits you if style matters, but the ride can be firmer because of the wheel-and-tire setup.
• EX: This is the smart middle ground if you want more convenience and tech, including SmartEntry, push-button start, LaneWatch, a better sound system, and a sunroof. It’s a strong choice if you want a more complete daily driver without jumping to the pricier trims.
• EX-L: This is the best fit if you want the Accord to feel genuinely upscale, with leather, heated front seats, memory settings, a premium touchscreen audio system, satellite radio, HondaLink, and more advanced safety tech. It’s also the trim where the V6 becomes available.
• Touring: This is the top choice if you want the most equipment, including Adaptive Cruise Control and LED headlights. It makes sense if you want the most fully loaded Accord and are willing to pay for it.

The safety package starts with standard airbags, a reversing camera, and ACE II body structure, while LaneWatch, Forward Collision Warning, and Lane Departure Warning are reserved for higher trims.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2014 Honda Accord?

This is a moderate market for selective buyers, with enough inventory to shop carefully and enough deal activity to reward patience.

• Deal availability: 29.8% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 1,959 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 1.24% compared with last year.
• Clean inventory: 48.7% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $11,409, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2014 Honda Accord's resale value?

The current average of $11,903 sits slightly below last year's $12,052.

That modest decline suggests the market has softened a bit, which can help you as a buyer today but may slightly temper future resale gains. If you buy well and keep the car in strong condition, you’ll be better positioned when it’s time to sell.

The Accord’s broad appeal and strong owner satisfaction help support demand in the used market. Well-kept examples should remain attractive to shoppers who want a dependable midsize sedan with a strong reputation.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.94/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Is the 2014 Honda Accord safe?

The 2014 Honda Accord earns a Top Safety Pick+ rating from IIHS and five-star ratings from NHTSA.

It earns a 9/10 safety score from our experts.

Standard safety equipment includes SmartVent side impact airbags for the front seats, a reversing camera, and ACE II body structure. LaneWatch is included on the EX, while Forward Collision Warning and Lane Departure Warning are included on EX-L and Touring trims.

One caveat is that Honda’s LaneWatch system only monitors the right side of the car, so it is not a full traditional blind-spot system.

Should I buy a 2014 Honda Accord or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2014 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2014 if:

• 29.8% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• At 48.7% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 1.24% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.94/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.
• The 2014 stands out for its polished execution, strong value, and broad appeal across reliability, fuel efficiency, and comfort.

Consider the 2015 if:

• At $13,243, the 2015 costs more than the current year's $11,903 average.
• It emphasizes long-term dependability and everyday competence even more strongly.

The bottom line: If you want the better value today, the 2014 is the stronger buy because it combines a lower average price with strong owner satisfaction and broad market availability. If you’re willing to spend more for a newer model year, the 2015 is the cleaner alternative for buyers who prioritize long-term dependability and don’t mind paying extra.
