How much does the 2014 GMC Acadia cost?

Prices have softened 12.96% compared to this time last year, making it a favorable time to shop this model year.

There are 743 listings available, which suggests a decent amount of inventory to compare before you buy.

Is the 2014 GMC Acadia a good car?

Yes — you’re looking at a 4.73/5 user-rated SUV with an expert rating of 7.00/10. The standout strength is Safety at 9/10.

Owners consistently praise the Acadia’s safety, smooth ride, roomy interior, comfort, and upscale feel. That lines up well with its use-case as a family-friendly three-row SUV, especially if you want something more refined than a basic utility vehicle for trips and everyday hauling. The market also shows 31.9% of listings as good or great deals, which adds to the appeal if you’re shopping carefully.

Is the 2014 GMC Acadia reliable?

Owners rate it 4.73/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

User feedback points to a dependable, trouble-free ownership experience for many drivers, with praise centered on comfort, safety, and the roomy cabin. The expert review also describes it as a pleasant choice for highway-focused use, and GM’s 2-year, 24,000-mile maintenance plan includes scheduled checkups, oil changes, and tire rotation. A few owners did mention power steering issues, so a used example should be checked carefully for service history and steering behavior before you commit.

What should I look for when buying a used 2014 GMC Acadia?

At 62.4% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.

You should start with a vehicle history report and then prioritize a pre-purchase inspection, especially if the listing price looks unusually attractive. Focus on body condition, steering feel, brake performance, and signs of uneven wear or past repairs. Because this model is aimed at family use and long trips, you’ll also want to make sure the cabin electronics, seats, and cargo-area features all work as expected.

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The Acadia starts at $35,410 and climbs through 4 trim levels before reaching the loaded Denali. The base SLE-1 misses the front center airbag, while higher trims add more upscale touches and equipment; the Denali stands out with the most premium presentation.
• Powertrain: You get one engine, a 3.6-liter V6 with 288 hp and 270 lb-ft of torque, paired with a 6-speed automatic. Front- or all-wheel drive is available, and the review notes that the engine is modern with direct injection for better fuel economy and power.
• Safety package: The Acadia includes OnStar with automatic 911 assistance and stolen-vehicle tracking, plus a backup camera. Forward-collision alert and lane-departure warning are optional on the SLT-1 and SLT-2 and standard on the Denali. Blind-spot detection and rear cross-traffic alert are standard only on the SLT-2 and Denali.
• Infotainment: The system is fast and easy to use, with a reconfigurable home screen, Bluetooth streaming audio, Pandora access, HD radio, USB connectivity, live traffic, and weather alerts. The available navigation and rear-seat entertainment setup adds more convenience for family use.
• Fuel efficiency: The Acadia is rated at 16 mpg in the city and averages close to 23 mpg on the highway.

Which 2014 GMC Acadia trim should I buy?

The 2014 GMC Acadia is offered in 4 trim levels: SLE-1, SLT-1, SLT-2, Denali.

Here's the short version:

• SLE-1: This is the entry point, but it misses the front center airbag that becomes standard on most other trims. It makes sense only if you want the lowest-cost way into the Acadia nameplate and are comfortable giving up some safety and convenience content.
• SLT-1: This is the best-value trim for many shoppers because it adds more of the Acadia’s upscale feel without jumping all the way to the top. It also opens the door to optional forward-collision alert and lane-departure warning.
• SLT-2: This is the better pick if you want more safety tech built in, since blind-spot detection and rear cross-traffic alert are standard here. It’s the trim to target if driver-assistance features matter most.
• Denali: This is the luxury-leaning choice, with the most premium equipment and standard active safety features. It’s the right fit if you want the most upscale Acadia experience and don’t mind paying more for it.

The safety package is limited on lower trims, so if driver-assistance features matter to you, it’s worth stepping up from the base model.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2014 GMC Acadia?

This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can shop with some leverage if you’re patient.

• Deal availability: 31.9% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 743 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 12.96% compared with last year.
• Clean inventory: 62.4% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $7,985, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2014 GMC Acadia's resale value?

The current average of $7,985 sits slightly below last year's $9,174.

That price drop suggests the Acadia has already absorbed a meaningful amount of depreciation, which can help future sellers if they buy at the right price. If you purchase near the lower end of the current range, you may have less downside left than a buyer who paid closer to last year’s average. Condition will matter a lot, though, because accident history and maintenance records can strongly affect what the next buyer is willing to pay.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.73/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Is the 2014 GMC Acadia safe?

The 2014 GMC Acadia earns top ratings from the government and Insurance Institute for Highway Safety.

It earns a 9/10 safety score from our experts.

The Acadia’s standout safety feature is a front center airbag that deploys as a secondary side airbag from the driver’s seat to help cushion impact between front occupants in a side collision. OnStar with automatic 911 assistance and stolen-vehicle tracking is standard, as is a backup camera. Forward-collision alert and lane-departure warning are optional on the SLT-1 and SLT-2 and standard on the Denali, while blind-spot detection and rear cross-traffic alert are standard only on the SLT-2 and Denali.

Should I buy a 2014 GMC Acadia or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2014 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2014 if:

• 31.9% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• At 62.4% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 12.96% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.73/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.
• The 2014 stands out as a plush, carlike three-row SUV with smooth, quiet highway manners and capable brakes.

The bottom line: The 2014 Acadia makes the most sense if you want a comfortable, upscale-feeling three-row SUV and you’re willing to shop carefully for condition and history. If you’re especially price-sensitive, the current market gives you room to compare listings and target the better-maintained examples rather than rushing into the first one you see.
